With the final event under the Union GP banner for 2022, DRIP Episode 8 comes to you, live at the BST Center in Chicago exclusively on the Battleground Network. There were plenty of pre-fight festivities going on for this special New Years event, with some of the biggest stars of MMA, like Delaney Donovan, Gianna Howard, Travis Decker, Donnie Calabrese, and Roscoe Robinson signing autographs for the selective audience for tonight’s card. Also in the building is the former Heavyweight Champion Kennard Rozier, but he’s not here for the party, he’s here with a half dozen of his newest prospects who are competing for a contract tonight.
The night was filled with intense action as six MMA fighters stepped into the cage to battle it out for victory. In the first fight of the night, Peace Jury made quick work of Cody Foxworth, delivering a knockout victory via ground and pound at 2:43 of the first round.
Rocco Ray Jr. also earned a knockout victory, this time with punches, as he took down Zeke Mills in the second round at 3:19.
Rebel Carter faced off against Grayson Wade in a unanimous decision victory, with all three judges scoring the bout 30-27 in Carter’s favor.
Regis Pierre Paul secured a submission win over Liam McCarthy, using an anaconda choke to force the tapout at 2:10 of the second round.
Benny Diamond made a strong showing in his fight against Takahashi Katsuyoshi, earning a knockout victory with punches just 21 seconds into the second round.
The final fight of the night saw Eagle Mondalvi deliver a knockout victory over Denzel Harris with a powerful haymaker at 3:59 of the third round.
Overall, it was a night filled with exciting finishes and impressive performances from all of the fighters. At the end of the night, Dante Reed, Cass Madrigal, and Perry Wallace all greeted the winners and offered half of them contracts to Union GP, and the other half contracts to Everest MMA.
