ROUND ONE: The bell announces the first round of the first Championship fight and both fighters close the distance in the center of the octagon. Dax and Caden circle around the center of the cage as they dial in their range. A left hook from Dax clips Theirin right on the chin that nearly spins his head in a full rotation. Before Theirin can recover from the big shot, Dax follows up and catches him with a devastating uppercut. Therein’s head rocks back and his body stiffens up as he free falls to the canvas! The lethal walkoff sniper shot from Dax Levandrier has left Caden Theirin snoring on the mat and the referee quickly rushes in to call off the fight!

Isaac Cohen’s Opinion: What an unbelievable flash KO to start the night off. All it took was a quick two-piece and it was night-night for Caden Theirin. The crowd blew the roof off as they witnessed Dax’s terrifying power and are left wondering if the final Heavyweight Champion of Everest’s first season will take his talents to greater heights, like Union GP or even possibly Ryujin FC, or continue to hone his skills here in Everest MMA. The contract will be offered to the rising RAW Graps prospect either way, we just hope that we can continue to watch this budding Heavyweight superstar compete under one of the several Union branches.
ROUND ONE: Webb and Gotti touch gloves in the center to get this fight started. Things start off with the two circling around feeling each other out and looking for any openings. Webb tries several times to get inside, but Gotti keeps him at bay with a low kick. Webb forces them into an exchange, and even though a lot of punches and kicks are thrown, nothing significant lands for either man. Gotti scores a takedown but can’t do anything with it which causes the official to stand them back up. Gotti is patient with his approach, forcing Webb to initiate some action. Webb gets sloppy and doesn’t properly set up his attacks, which allows Gotti to check several kicks and slip the jabs thrown at him. Gotti manages to hit a body lock takedown and even goes for a kneebar on the ground, but Webb is able to kick free and get back on his feet. Gotti continues to dodge traffic and dips under a big head kick which causes Webb to slip to the mat. Gotti’s position keeps Webb on the mat for about a minute until the referee stands him up due to a stalemate. In the closing seconds, Gotti secures a double underhook clinch and the two pummel back and forth, trading body shots until the horn signals the end of the round.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Gotti Jr.
ROUND TWO: Coming out of their corners, Webb tries to push the pace, throwing big uppercuts and punches, but Gotti is fast enough to dodge them. Webb avoids a dangerous strike from Gotti and fends him off with some feel-out punches. Gotti connects with several leg kicks which sets up a takedown attempt, but he bails on it when Webb nearly ends the fight with a flying knee. Webb tries to follow it up with a high kick, but Gotti evades the kick and brings the fight back to the mat with another body lock takedown. The two jockey for position and neither one gains clear control, so eventually they are stood back up by the referee. The two exchange punches and again neither one creates any big damaging blows, but Gotti rushes in with a clinch and takes Webb back to the ground. The fight is stood back up when neither fighter creates enough action for the official, and once they stand back up, it’s a methodical chess match for position until the horn.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Gotti Jr. (20-18 Gotti Jr.)
ROUND THREE: With five minutes left to go, there’s a sense of urgency in Derrius Webb’s corner whereas Silvio Gotti is cold as ice. Gotti takes the best of an exchange before he wraps up a clinch. Webb throws a knee, but Gotti blocks it. While Webb is off balance, Gotti hits a perfectly executed knee tap! Gotti scrambles to half guard and nearly locks in an arm triangle, but Webb is able to relieve the pressure on his neck and slip out of the hold. The two scramble and Gotti locks in an Anaconda choke! Webb struggles free and pushes his opponent forward. Both fighters are breathing hard as they climb to their feet. The two exchange wildly for a moment until Gotti moves in to shoot. Webb launches a knee and Gotti just narrowly avoids it as he aborts the takedown attempt. Gotti continues to dodge Webb’s attack as he catches him by the waist and takes him down to the mat. The two continue to breathe heavily, but Gotti keeps heavy pressure on Webb as he scrambles his way to side mount. Gotti isolates Webb’s left arm and he’s looking for an armbar! Webb tries to hold onto his own arm but Gotti breaks his grip and extends his arm. Gotti has the arm fully extended and Webb has no choice but to tap!

Isaac Cohen’s Opinion: Silvio Gotti came in with a flawless game plan and stuck to it to the end. By keeping the fight in close range with clinches and utilizing his wrestling, Gotti disrupted Derrius Webb’s ability to create distance to use his reach advantage to fight on the perimeter. Wrestlers have been a weakness of Webb, and unfortunately for him, it further showed here tonight. Gotti sweeps Webb on the season and caps it all off with an impressive submission to become the final Welterweight Champion of Season One. The big question now is if Gotti will take a contract offer to Union GP or Ryujin FC, or if he will return to Everest for Season Two to continue to work on his skill set.
ROUND ONE: There is no glove touch to start this fight for the vacant Featherweight Championship. Flynn is quick to try and play mind games with her opponent, but Harris doesn’t seem fazed one bit. Harris strikes first with a single leg takedown but Flynn is ready for it and sprawls back. Off the break, Flynn lands a pair of stinging one-two combos then dodges a shovel hook from Harris. The two get into an exchange and the fists are flying, but both are showing some great elusiveness. Flynn lands a low kick that hits Harris’ ankle which creates some space. Harris steps back but darts back in to hit a textbook double leg. Flynn manages to close her guard and cover herself up well enough to block a cluster of punches and elbows from Harris. Harris tries to improve her position, but Flynn’s guard is tight. Flynn fires back with some punches to the body, but Harris blocks them. With the separation created from Flynn throwing hands, Harris passes guard just briefly before Flynn regains full guard. Neither fighter makes any advancements from here and the referee stands them up. A quick exchange ensues, both wildly hitting air, before Harris feints a move to cause Flynn to bite on it and hit a single leg. Harris keeps the pressure on and works to full mount. She’s able to slip Flynn’s defense with a couple hammer fists to the face before Flynn can cover up. Harris rains down from the heavens with a big elbow, but Flynn side shifts out of the way and uses the momentum to roll to full mount! The gap in ground experience is evident here as Flynn can’t get anything going, resulting in the referee to stand them back up after a stalemate. On the feet, both fighters use some low kicks to measure their range, but it’s Harris who capitalizes first with another single leg takedown before the horn.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Harris
ROUND TWO: Coming out of their corners, Harris looks fresh while Flynn looks a little deflated. Looks can be deceiving though as Flynn lands a crushing straight left that causes Harris to quickly circle out. Flynn stays on her trail and cuts her off with a flurry of punches. Harris strikes back but Flynn is just too quick and dodges the traffic. Flynn charges in at Harris with alternating lefts and rights. Not many are landing, but the ones that do are vicious. Harris gets rocked and tries to hit a takedown in retaliation, but Flynn stuffs the attempt. Flynn launches a low kick, but Harris checks it and immediately goes back with a single leg takedown, this time taking it to the mat. Unfortunately, not much action happens and the referee opts to stand them back up. There’s a brief exchange where neither one lands anything significant before Harris fakes a jab and hits a blast double leg, bringing the fight back to the mat. They jockey for control, and Flynn manages to roll to full mount, but a stalemate ensues and the fight gets stood up. Harris is quick to go back for a single leg but it gets stuffed and Flynn rocks her with a right hand that causes her to slip to the mat. Harris springs back to her feet and the two exchange hands where Flynn lands a big hook. Harris’ legs wobble and she circles out of danger to cool the fight down and recover. Flynn taunts Harris to bait her in and Harris does so with a wild flurry that mostly hits air. Flynn circles out and now Harris taunts her right back. Flynn ambushes Harris with a rapid series of punches, taking Harris from one end of the cage to the other. Harris tries a body lock takedown in desperation but can’t get it. Off the break, Flynn launches a haymaker that snaps Harris’ head back then follows it up with a Superman punch right at the horn to finish the round strong.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Flynn (19-19 Push)
ROUND THREE: It could very well be tied up on the scorecards with five minutes remaining, and it’s time to direct the narrative. Harris fires off a stiff jab, Flynn dodges it and counters with a brutal combination that wobbles Harris. Flynn dodges a counter combo from Harris, and answers with another flurry to put her boxing prowess on full display. Harris goes for a body lock takedown, but Flynn won’t budge, forcing Harris to pull guard. Flynn blocks some punches and fires back repeatedly while the two jockey for position. Harris lands some heavy hammer fists to the ribs while Flynn answers back with some stinging punches to the head. Harris tries to roll, but Flynn keeps position and postures up forcing Harris to open her guard. Nothing doing from here and the referee stands them up. Flynn begins picking Harris apart with well-timed striking, stuffs two double leg takedown attempts then clinches up and presses Harris against the fence. The two pummel for control but it’s Flynn that lands a nasty hook that drops Harris to the mat. The tense moments that follow are subdued with a stalemate and the referee backs Flynn off to allow Harris back to her feet. Harris launches a flurry of punches but Flynn slips out of danger and lands another big haymaker. Harris looks gassed at this point and her movements have slowed down drastically. Flynn tee’s off on Harris with brilliant counters that keep Harris guessing and coming up empty with a few quick exchanges. With time running out, Harris mails in a takedown attempt, in which Flynn stuffs it with ease, forcing Harris to pull guard. Time is not on Harris’ side though, as the horn sounds marking the end of the fight.

Isaac Cohen’s Opinion: This rematch was a very interesting one, quite probably the closest in regards to skill level and tension. Harris came out strong with a textbook wrestling game plan that kept Flynn struggling to get anything going. The second round was very close, and could be argued for either fighter. It’ll be one that’s up for debate, but the final ruling goes to Flynn. We saw the momentum shift in that second round, as Flynn began to find a rhythm with her striking that slowly wore Harris down, which allowed Flynn to start defending the takedowns better and better as the fight continued on. Chalk this up for a big rebound victory for C.C. Flynn, who now holds the Everest MMA Featherweight Championship and a cool milli.
ROUND ONE: The fighters size each other up in the center of the cage, and almost immediately engage in a heated exchange of punches. Parsons gets the best of the exchange and shows no signs of slowing down as the two throw caution to the wind and continue to go back and forth with rapid shots. Both fighters throw caution to the wind and this could be over soon if either lands a lucky punch. The two finally back out, but Parsons looks ready to pounce as she circles her way back into range. Parsons lands a couple leg kicks, one that visibly pains McMillan and an oblique kick that looks to have hyper-extended McMillan’s left leg. The Villain is slowed down considerably from the damaging kicks but Parsons fires off a nasty head kick that cuts McMillan across the forehead. With the champ in a daze, Parsons walks him down with a combination and puts him in serious trouble. Parsons feints a low kick that causes McMillan to bite on it then switches it up to land a superb body kick! McMillan immediately clenches his side as he drops to the mat. Parsons rushes in and lands alternating standing-to-ground punches in bunches before the referee decides McMillan isn’t intelligently defending himself and pulls Parsons off to end this fight!

Isaac Cohen’s Opinion: In a shocking upset, Rachel Parsons dethrones Elliot McMillan in the final fight of season one. Parsons was flawlessly surgical with her accuracy, and quite possibly rearranged McMillan’s rib cage and organs with that devastating kick to the body. McMillan hasn’t been overpowered like this in the slightest throughout his entire Everest tenure, but if anyone had the ability to do such a thing, it was the Twin Cities product. Parsons will automatically earn an offer to get a promotion to either Union GP or Ryujin FC, but don’t be surprised to see The Villain earn one as well, despite the loss tonight. Big fights create big moments, and this was a fantastic way to cap off the championship finals here in the Golden City.
