BACKSTORY
Born to Marvin and Macy Katana in 1999 Mercy was born into what is known as a poverty stricken family. Her mother Macy was a high school dropout who worked at a local gas station. Her father Marvin, well he was just a local hustler. He never worked a day in his life. Mercy did have an uncle from her father’s side. Uncle PK as all the kids would call him. He was an amateur wrestler at the time Mercy was young and quickly became someone she wanted to be like by the time she was nine years old.
But when she was nine years old her father passed away from a heart attack leaving her alone with her mother who didn’t know how to raise a child by herself. Mercy’s father was still the breadwinner in the family and held everything together but his death caused a turn of events. Macy struggled to stay afloat and started dating a guy Karl Kingston who was in a sense just like Mercy’s father. Except her mother started to use drugs when he came around.
When Mercy turned eleven her uncle PK filed for custody for her. He won and PK moved to New York where she started her wrestling training. Around this time PK noticed that Mercy didn’t say much. She just took instructions and did her best to follow through with them. Mercy would finally speak here and there once she got comfortable around the people she was around.
When she was a senior in high school PK sent her out to start a wrestling career. As an amateur Mercy torched the independent local scene in New York. At the time she was going under the name Mercy DeVille. A spin on the Cruella DeVille character from 101 Dalmatians. For some reason she took a liking to her. She would tear the scene up all the way until she was supposed to make her pro debut.
When she was twenty one and had somewhat honed in on a little skill set PK passed away. This was very devastating to Mercy who took his death like it was her dying. She stopped wrestling, gave up on her wrestling dreams and just became a lost soul. A dark tormented mind. She started fighting in Mixed Martial Arts in what she felt like was a way to let go of her grief. Around this time in 2022 she met Chanson Webster, the man of names on top of names and heard his message at a Webz of truth seminar. From there she and Wally would start up a friendship.
When Chanson discovered that Mercy wrestled he wasted no time getting her in the gym he calls ‘Sanction One’ where he has been spending most of his time away from wrestling training his pupils. Mercy immediately was beating everyone in the gym with ease. Chanson took quick notice of it and spent more time with Mercy, noticing that she doesn’t speak much but she listens well and has talent that can be honed.
She became Wally’s favorite pupil and ever since he’s been training her to take over MMA. Once Chanson felt like she was ready he said he would let her ‘bleed the blood of Lava. It’s now 2025 and after three years of training at Lava City. Mercy feels like she’s ready to step back into wrestling and continue her career.
