UGP 41: SAINT-CYR vs DECKER

ROUND ONE: Eagle Mondalvi and Robert Guilliman go head-to-head to officially get this night of fights underway. The fight starts with a one-two combo from Eagle followed by a big uppercut that rocks Guilliman. Throughout the fight, both fighters exchange blows with Guilliman launching several low kicks that are blocked by Eagle. However, Guilliman’s technique is sometimes poorly executed, leaving him open to Eagle’s powerful counterpunches. As the round progresses, Eagle lands several big shots that cause swelling and lacerations on Guilliman’s face. Despite Guilliman’s attempts to retaliate, Eagle continues to dominate the fight with his precise punching and relentless aggression. At one point, Guilliman falls to the mat, and although he tries to get back up, he cannot due to Eagle’s control. Eventually, the round ends with the fighters separating, and they head back to their corners.

Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Mondalvi

ROUND TWO: Guilliman started strong with some good leg kicks, but Mondalvi quickly took control with his excellent defense and powerful counters. After a crushing hook and a Superman punch that left Guilliman staggered, Mondalvi delivered a backfist that bruised Guilliman’s chin. The two exchanged punches wildly, with Mondalvi landing some solid shots, while Guilliman followed him only to get knocked out by a devastating punch from Mondalvi. The fight showcased Mondalvi’s dominance and Guilliman’s inability to keep up, leading to a spectacular finish.

Cameron Moss executes a slick takedown and starts delivering some precise ground and pound strikes, but Silvio Gotti is not an easy target and manages to counter with an armbar and a triangle choke. Both fighters get back on their feet and continue the fight standing. Moss tries to take Gotti down again, but Gotti traps him in full guard and delivers some strong elbows. Moss finally takes Gotti down with a great takedown and starts delivering more ground and pound strikes. Gotti shows some ground skills, but Moss’s strength keeps him at a disadvantage. Gotti manages to catch Moss’ leg and applies a kneebar out of nowhere that ultimately forces Moss to tap.

The fight is back and forth as both opponents struggle to take control, but it’s James who manages to take Bodhi to the ground with a slick takedown. James is in closed guard over Bodhi and tries to improve his position, but Bodhi is not giving up that easily. James fakes a few punches and then slips one leg to get the half mount. He isolates Bodhi’s right arm, and Bodhi tries to hold onto it, but James breaks his grip and extends his arm for the tap! It’s a fast and furious bout that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats. James proves he’s trained hard for this fight, and his dedication pays off in the end. The crowd goes wild as James is declared the winner.

[The arena is swarming with a rowdy and spirited crowd that becomes more restless by the second for impending chaos. Crimson spotlights scan all through the building while laser lights and a brilliant white strobe light flutters on the main entrance stage. The deep bass from the music shakes you to the core.]

[The air, which hours ago was fresh, cool, and dry, is now thick with humidity from twenty-thousand plus, and reeks with the toxic aroma of alcohol and that sticky sweet leaf. The pyrotechnic explosives drown out the sounds of cheers from the crowd with each detonation, havoc has descended upon these grounds.]

[The stage of a bloody war is set. The conquerors envision nothing but execution towards victory, while the meek is flooded with doubt. The camera pans down in the frontlines, where we are greeted with Bodie Sullivan and MMA Legend and Hall of Famer, Jason Jackson, ready for their cue. Both men are impeccably dressed as the camera zooms in for a close-up.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the  Smoothie King Center in The Big Easy, New Orleans, Louisiana and the octagon is officially open for business for UGP 41! Hello everyone and thank you for tuning in. I am Bodie Sullivan and with me as always is the living legend Jason Jackson here to call the fights tonight. Jason, the city of NOLA may have wrapped up their Mardi Gras celebrations but there is still plenty of buzz in the air as we are set to kickoff another big night of fights, with two championship bouts headlining the card. JJ, I couldn’t help but notice the beaded necklaces you’re sporting. I assume that’s just your way of getting into the spirit of the city, right?”

JASON JACKSON: “Bodie, my man, you know I’m always ready to call the fights and bring some swag to the booth. And these beads? Nah, it’s just a little something I picked up at the local market. Gotta look fresh for the fans, you know?”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ha! That’s the JJ we all know and love. Alright, let’s get into it. Kicking off the main card, we have a heavyweight bout featuring the return of former Union GP Heavyweight Champion Kennard Rozier taking on a gargantuan prospect Von Mathieu. It was believed that we had seen the end of an era in Pluggz The Great when he announced his retirement after suffering three consecutive losses. But you know better than most, that this violent sport is a hard habit to kick. After some time off, Rozier and his camp relocated from Kansas City to Miami and established a rejuvenation with not just his protégés, but within himself as well. Tonight he looks to start his comeback tour in hopes of recapturing the gold he once held for an incredible 722 days.”

JASON JACKSON: “It can be hard to bounce back after a loss and return to that place you were in before you were bumped off that pedestal, let alone THREE consecutive losses. For Pluggz, it’s gonna be all about shaking off those doubts and jitters and just going out there to do what you’ve trained your whole life to do. Win. I think Kennard is an incredible talent who’s biggest challenge is himself. I’ve been there too. Now it’s time to see if he can mount a comeback or if the pressure of a triumphant return proves to be too much. For Von, this is a HUGE opportunity to notch a win over a seasoned vet and former champion. These are what I call “prove yourself” fights. With a win here tonight Von could catapult himself further up the rankings and get a lot more eyes on him.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “From there we stay put with the heavyweights as two top contenders clash in what could very well be a title eliminator bout. Billy Tweeds takes on the former Everest MMA Heavyweight Champion Sergey Loktev, and whoever walks away with the dub will have some momentum and would be a fresh matchup for the new champ, Gauge Lattimore. The field is wide open right now, and it’s anyone’s chance to snatch that opportunity. A big performance could very well launch the victor into being the next title contender.”

JASON JACKSON: “Like you said, this one is sure to be a title eliminator bout. Both of these guys have a similar record, and both have very similar fight styles in that they prefer to stand in the phonebooth and trade until someone drops. I think we are in for a slugfest in this one tonight. This is my pick for a potential fight or knockout of the night for sure. ”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “In the featured undercard bout, the Bantamweight Grand Prix continues with a matchup between former Champion Dallas Meechan and the surging prospect, Redd Lennox. Meechan is on a two-fight winning streak coming into this bout and is looking like the Playboy we all praised when he held the title for over a year. He’ll need to continue that kind of momentum tonight, because Lennox looks like the real deal who is following a very similar path that Meechan paved when he first came on the scene. Can Lennox continue the ascension with a big upset win against a former champion, or will Meechan build onto his winning ways? Remember, whoever advances in this bout will be fighting for the title in the semifinals.”

JASON JACKSON: “This is another one of those “prove yourself” fights Bodie. We’ve all seen the incredible career of Dally Meechan play out but Redd is a wildcard. This is her chance to make a name for herself by topping one of the legendary Bantamweights of this sport. We saw at Boss Fight XL though that this girl has hands. SHe knocked out Moruga in under two minutes in her debut. Which to me is well… goddamn impressive. We’ve heard from her camp that her gameplan is to land early and land often. She wants to test the chin of Dallas Meechan and I do believe he is up for the challenge Bodie. ”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Then once again we stay in the 135 pound division going into the Co-Main Event. The undisputed Bantamweight Champion Gianna Howard makes her 2023 debut as she faces off against the former inaugural Champion Lauren Moore. The Ghost has yet to taste defeat since she debuted in Union, winning seven straight. Inside that streak she has successfully defended the Bantamweight Title four times, tying the all-time division record. Tonight she has the chance to set a new record and be one win away from tying the longest winning streak in Union GP history. However, she’s got a hungry former champ staring her down as Moore finally gets her chance at reclaiming the strap since losing the trilogy bout against Dallas Meechan back at UGP 28. This is a pivotal moment for both fighters that will certainly alter the trajectory of their careers.”

JASON JACKSON: “The GHOOOOOOOOOOST. You know I’m a big fan of hers, Bodie. I know we are supposed to be impartial but I can’t help it. She’s by far one of my favorite fighters in this entire sport. Tonight though she’s got, like you said, a hungry, determined former champion across from her in L-Mo. I don’t think we have to say anything to talk these women up, do we Bodie? The footage and the resume speaks for itself. This is one of those legendary fights that people talk about for decades to come and we get the pleasure of saying we were here cageside to witness it. I can’t wait.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Finally, our Main Event for the night. Lovelie Saint-Cyr will make the walk for the first time as the undisputed Middleweight Champion when he squared up against former Champ Travis Decker. LSC won the title last November against Hall of Famer Byron McCall in a razor thin split decision. Once McCall announced, the notion of a rematch between the two was immediately nixed, giving Decker the #1 spot. Even though Decker hasn’t been inside the octagon since losing the title to McCall at UGP 37, his resume speaks for itself as he shares the all-time Middleweight Title defense record and was on an incredible seven fight win streak. JJ, you know Ripcord is gonna leave it all out there in hopes of regaining the throne as the Middleweight King.”

JASON JACKSON: “Travis Decker amazes me. His career has been an incredible one to watch. This man wasn’t happy with the way he’d gotten stuck in a rut in his early career and he totally reinvented himself to come back out of nowhere and dominate the middleweight division. From the heated rivalry with Zion Momo’a, to the spectacular head kick knockout of Robert Guilliman, Decker has given us some memorable moments throughout the last few years and tonight he’s looking to reclaim that throne. Standing in his way, though, is the ever dangerous Lovelie Saint-Cyr who is most certainly out to prove to the doubters that his split decision win over Byron McCall at UPG 39 was no fluke. Word from his camp is he is aiming to finish this fight, silence the critics, and make an example out of Travis Decker. He wants to show the world that he is the true king of the middleweights and that he isn’t going anywhere any time soon.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And with that, let’s turn the action over inside the octagon where our very own hype man, the Mouthpiece of MMA, Mike Dempsey, is standing at attention awaiting his cue. IT’S BOUT TIME!

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the Smoothie King Center in The Big Easy — New Orleans, Louisiana for UGP 41: Saint-Cyr versus Decker! And now, this opening contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Division! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of nine wins, three losses. He stands 6’10”, and weighing in at 260 pounds. He is from Columbia, South Carolina, fighting out of the Metropolitan Kombat Klub, presenting “Slinky” Von Mathieu!

[Von Mathieu turns his back toward his opponent with his head directed down to the canvas. His coaches shout out some motivating final words as he raises a clenched fist in the air.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “First man up on the main card, Von Mathieu returns to action after coming up short in his Union debut at UGP 37 against Gauge Lattimore. This guy clearly has a ton of potential with his massive frame, and has another massive task at hand, squaring up against another former Champion. JJ, he’s obviously not afraid to face the toughest competition, but how do you like his chances in this fight, considering Rozier’s sabbatical being the biggest X-factor?”

JASON JACKSON: “Well… It’s always difficult to predict the outcome of a fight, especially when one fighter has been on a sabbatical. However, Von Mathieu’s size and strength can certainly pose a threat to any opponent. But let’s not forget that size doesn’t always equate to success in the octagon. It’s the skill, strategy, and execution that ultimately determine the winner. So, while Rozier’s absence may be a factor, I believe Mathieu’s performance will come down to his ability to utilize his physical advantages effectively and adapt to his opponent’s game plan. It’s going to be an intriguing match-up, and I’m excited to see how it plays out.”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of nine wins, three losses. He stands 6’5”, and weighing in at 250 pounds. He is from Kansas City, Missouri, fighting out of 9th World Miami, presenting the former Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion, “Pluggz” Kennard Rozier!”

[Kennard Rozier stares down the cameraman closest to him in the cage with vicious intent. He smashes his fists together a few times, then gets up close and yells out a thundering war cry, ready to finally get back in action after the long hiatus.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Welcome back, Kennard Rozier! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen this man in the cage, but he looks like he hasn’t missed a beat. After announcing his return from retirement, the biggest question regarding Pluggz was how much ring rust did he accumulate during the layoff. Granted, he took quite a hit with a three-fight skid, so perhaps the time away from competition did him some good, at the very least mentally. He looks focused tonight, so now we find out how he responds physically when he goes toe-to-toe with a monster of a man.”

JASON JACKSON: “You know, you raise an interesting point about Kennard Rozier’s return from retirement. While time away from the cage can certainly have both positive and negative effects, I think it’s important to consider the quality of his opponents during his three-fight skid. It’s possible that he simply faced tougher competition and wasn’t able to come out on top. However, if he did use his time away from the sport to recharge and focus on his skills, we may see a rejuvenated Pluggz tonight. As for Von Mathieu, we’re still waiting to see him live up to the hype. But man, what an opportunity to show out right here, right now.”

[The two towering fighters step into the center of the octagon, ready to engage in a battle of wills and strength. Kennard Rozier wastes no time, launching a flurry of punches. However, Mathieu is quick enough to dodge the incoming blows, moving backwards to safety. Sensing an opening in Rozier’s defense, Mathieu unleashes a powerful counter uppercut that rocks Rozier to his core. The crowd erupts with excitement as Rozier wobbles on his feet.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “OOOH!! Big shot lands and Kennard Rozier is rattled early!”

JASON JACKSON: “That’ll wake you the fuck up. He just told Rozier “welcome back” after he landed that shot too! I love it”

[Despite being shaken by Von Mathieu’s blow, Rozier quickly recovers and the two fighters engage in a wild exchange of punches, both landing and missing in equal measure. However, it is Rozier who gains the upper hand, landing a series of blows that leave Mathieu reeling. Rozier sees an opportunity and launches a devastating hook that connects with Mathieu’s chin, sending him crashing to the mat. But Von Mathieu is not one to give up easily, and he quickly scrambles to his feet, ready to continue the fight.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Big knockdown scored for the former Champ! We got a wild one brewing as Rozier rallies back from the brink of defeat!”

JASON JACKSON: “And now Pluggz is the one doing the jawing, waving Von on and telling him to come get some! This one is a banger out the gates. Helluva way to set the tone for the show.”

[The two fighters lock eyes once again, and Rozier attempts to cut off Mathieu with a flurry of punches. Mathieu takes the hits, but shows no signs of slowing down, proving that he is in great shape for the fight. Rozier is not deterred, and he swings for the fences, landing a punch that almost breaks Mathieu’s jaw. But Mathieu fights back, landing several good body shots on Rozier. The two fighters continue to exchange blows, but it is Mathieu who gains the upper hand, landing a right hand that sends Rozier stumbling backwards. However, Rozier is not one to be taken down easily, and he responds with a one-two combo that lands squarely on Mathieu’s face, leaving him bruised and battered.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Fistic fireworks are in the making, Rozier and Mathieu are throwing everything they have at each other!”

JASON JACKSON: “They have got the pedal to the metal right now. Full throttle. It’s only a matter of time before someone folds though.”

[Rozier continues to press forward, pawing at Mathieu and trying to find an opening in his defense. But Mathieu counters Rozier’s attack with a big punch that sends him reeling. Despite the danger, Rozier follows Mathieu closely, trying to land another blow, but Mathieu is too quick for him, and he steps backwards, cooling down the fight and regaining his composure. Rozier is not about to ease up and he launches a brutal combination of punches that leaves Mathieu in a bad way. His legs look wobbly and he seems to be struggling to keep up with Rozier’s relentless assault. Rozier sees his chance and throws a looping left hand that lands squarely on Mathieu’s chin, stopping him in his tracks. Rozier then follows up with a big uppercut that leaves Mathieu wobbling on his feet.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Rozier is laying it on thick. Von Mathieu is in serious trouble right now.”

JASON JACKSON: “He appears to be out on his feet and Pluggz smells the blood in the water! Von is looking at the clock, hoping for the end of the  round, when he needs to be focusing on those incoming punches.”

[Rozier is not done yet, and he unleashes an incredible haymaker that sends Mathieu’s head snapping backwards. Sensing that his opponent is on the ropes, Rozier continues to attack with a flurry of punches that leave Mathieu staggering. Rozier lands a big hook that sends Mathieu crashing to the mat. Rozier follows up with a series of kicks to Mathieu’s thigh, the impact of each blow echoing loudly throughout the arena. The ref stops the action at the sound of the horn, signaling the end of the round and leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats, eager to see what will happen in the next round.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “What an exciting first round to this fight, JJ. A lot of momentum shifting, but it was Kennard Rozier who finished strong that will make Mathieu and his cornermen reassess their game plan moving forward.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, I’m actually thinking that with two knockdowns in that round it has to be a 10-8 for Kennard. Von is really being tested right now and as it stands? He’s on the track for a big fat F if he doesn’t make some adjustments heading into this next round.”

[The crowd roars as the fighters circle each other, eyes locked in intense focus to open the second round. Von Mathieu unleashes a wild looping right hand, hoping to catch Kennard Rozier off guard, but Rozier is quick on his feet, effortlessly dodging the punch and countering with a series of sharp jabs that leave Mathieu swinging at thin air. Rozier then launches a ferocious combination of punches that sends Mathieu reeling. Mathieu’s legs look unsteady as he struggles to regain his balance, but Rozier isn’t letting up. He’s landing blow after blow, each one packing a powerful punch that leaves Mathieu on the brink of collapse. Finally, one devastating hit lands square on Mathieu’s jaw, and he crumples to the mat in a heap. The referee rushes over to check on him, but it’s clear that Mathieu is out for the count. Rozier celebrates his victory with a triumphant roar, basking in the cheers of the crowd.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And this one is all over! Kennard Rozier stormed in with immaculate combinations and it proved to be too much for Von Matthieu!”

JASON JACKSON: “Ooooo-OOOOOH That boy is SLEEPIN’ uce! He is fuckin’ SNORNING! Kennard makes his return with a dominant win here tonight! Welcome back big fella. Do your damn thing.”

[The medical team quickly enters the octagon to attend to Mathieu. After a brief examination, Mathieu slowly comes to his senses, and despite the pain, he can’t help but admire the skill and power of his opponent and the two embrace with a hug. The physicians exit the cage, allowing both fighters to gather in the center of the octagon for the official announcement of the winner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Jordan Ripley has called for a stop in this fight at twenty-nine seconds in the second round, declaring your winner by knockout, “Pluggz” Kennard Rozier!”

[The audience erupts in applause as Rozier is declared the winner. The two fighters exchange a respectful handshake before going their separate ways. The screen displays a graphic with the fight’s statistics and the commentators give a summary of the match.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “We are back ladies and gentlemen from our break for station identification. Before we continue with our second heavyweight bout for the night, we have to shout out the NEW Heavyweight Champ that’s here tonight, Gauge Lattimore! This man completely dismantled Owen Barnes for the title at UGP 40, and he may be watching his next opponent competing tonight. Whether that’s Kennard Rozier, who looked great in his return, or the winner of our next bout between Billy Tweeds and Sergey Loktev.”

JASON JACKSON: “Absolutely, Bodie. Gauge Lattimore put on a dominant performance at UGP 40 and earned that heavyweight title. It will be interesting to see who his next opponent will be and if they can put up a challenge against him. I don’t think an immediate rematch for Barnes is in the cards after getting straight up bullied by Lattimore. Kennard Rozier looked impressive in his return, but Billy Tweeds and Sergey Loktev are both tough rising contenders who could give him a run for his money. The heavyweight division is definitely heating up, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Division! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of seven wins, five losses. He stands 6’1”, and weighing in at 233 pounds. He is from Sochi, Russia, fighting out of The Factory, presenting the former Everest MMA Heavyweight Champion and the number four ranked Heavyweight Contender in the World, “The Last Tsar” Sergey Loktev!”

[Sergey Loktev exudes an air of tranquility from his corner, his eyes fixed on the opponent across the ring. Despite the high stakes of this momentous showdown, there is an unmistakable sense of poise and self-assurance emanating from him. Every movement is measured, every breath deliberate, as he prepares himself for the impending clash.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Alright ladies and gentlemen, to kick start our second consecutive heavyweight contest is the former Everest Champion, Sergey Loktev. The Last Tsar showed some big potential in his Union debut, taking down the heavyweight staple Joseph Byrne before falling to Gauge Lattimore in the Interim Heavyweight Championship Grand Prix. Tonight he looks to bounce back and get another big win against another big name in the division.”

JASON JACKSON: “Sergey Loktev is certainly a force to be reckoned with in the Heavyweight Division. He has shown that he has the skill and determination to take down some of the biggest names in the sport. But as we all know, the heavyweight division is full of surprises, and anything can happen in that octagon. Sergey will need to bring his A-game and be prepared to face whatever his opponent throws his way. He’ll need to stay focused, keep his head in the game, and most importantly, stay patient. Because as we’ve seen in the past, one small mistake can cost you everything in this sport. But I have no doubt that Sergey is up for the challenge. This is going to be one hell of a fight.”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of seven wins, four losses. He stands 6’6”, and weighing in at 265 pounds. He is from Anchorage, Alaska, fighting out of Red Rock Fighting, presenting the number three ranked Heavyweight Contender in the World, “200 Proof” Billy Tweeds!”

[The arena is filled with an intense energy as Billy Tweeds paces back and forth, his fists clenched tightly. He knows that the fight he’s about to enter is no walk in the park. As he stands in the corner, his eyes focused and unwavering, he begins to beat himself up – quite literally. With each smack to his face, body, and legs, he channels a fierce determination and adrenaline that courses through his veins. The sound of his own flesh hitting flesh reverberates throughout the room, and the cageside personnel can’t help but take notice. They watch in awe as Billy puts himself through this ritual, preparing himself mentally and physically for the battle that lies ahead.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “The burly Billy Tweeds is seeking redemption by aiming for a victory tonight after falling short in the Interim Heavyweight Championship Grand Prix, just like Sergey Loktev. However, the two fighters differ greatly in their approach, with Loktev being a reckless fighter, unafraid to take risks and engage in all-out brawls, while Tweeds adopts a more cautious approach as a counter striker. Tweeds’ greatest advantage, in my opinion, lies in his patience and ability to anticipate Loktev’s moves and respond with powerful counterattacks. If he can successfully time his strikes and land significant blows, he stands a good chance of winning the fight.”

JASON JACKSON: “It’s always fascinating to see fighters with different approaches go head-to-head in the ring. While Loktev’s aggressive style may make for exciting fights, it also leaves him vulnerable to counterattacks from a patient and strategic fighter like Tweeds. However, it’s important to note that being too cautious can also work against Tweeds, as Loktev may use his recklessness to catch Tweeds off guard and land some unexpected shots. Ultimately, the key to victory will be finding the right balance between offense and defense, and I’m excited to see which fighter will come out on top tonight.”

[The sound of the bell echoes through the arena, signaling the start of what promises to be a thrilling fight. Sergey Loktev steps forward and throws a bone-shattering straight right hand, but Billy Tweeds ducks under with lightning speed, avoiding the devastating blow. Tweeds doesn’t waste a second and takes advantage of his opponent’s miss, punishing Loktev’s legs with a barrage of low kicks. Loktev tries to counter, but Tweeds is too quick, evading his punches and firing back with more devastating strikes.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Billy Tweeds uses those nasty leg kicks to find his range and also does a good job of keeping Loktev at bay.”

JASON JACKSON: “You ever been leg kicked, Bodie? It’s not fun. It sucks. You should let me kick you and show you. No? Okay then. The offer is on the table if you ever change your mind.”

[As the round progresses, Tweeds charges at Loktev, throwing flurries of lefts and rights. Although not all of them are landing, the ones that do are huge shots that rock Loktev to his core. His left eye begins to swell, and there’s a small laceration on the same eye. Tweeds isn’t done yet. He lands several good body shots on Loktev, chasing him down and launching a few more perfect strikes. Loktev steps back, trying to avoid the incoming punches, but Tweeds is relentless, raining down combinations on him with incredible speed and accuracy.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Billy Tweeds has found an opening and he’s not letting up! He’s picking his shots well and has got Loktev on skates!”

JASON JACKSON: “Laser accurate strikes from Tweeds and Loktev is in BIIIIIG trouble here. Serg needs to move his head and use his footwork to make Tweeds miss. Right now he’s standing flat footed and letting himself get Tee’d off on. Or should I say “Tweed” off on.”

[Loktev’s corner looks worried as Tweeds continues to open up on him, landing blow after blow. And then, in a split second, it happens. Tweeds lands a crushing blow that sends Loktev crashing to the ground. He lies there motionless, unconscious from the devastating punch. The referee quickly steps in and stops the fight. The crowd erupts into cheers as the victor raises his hands in triumph, basking in the glory of his impressive win.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Billy Tweeds hits Sergey Loktev with a chin spinner and this one is all over! A dominant performance by 200 Proof! Take a bow!”

JASON JACKSON: “GOD Damn! What a fuckin’ punch! OoOoOh SHIT. Two Nasty knockouts in a row and this night if off to a start with a BANG. Billy Tweeds ladies and gentlemen. I think that was definitely enough to earn that number one contender spot. I can’t wait to see him back out there.”

[The medical team quickly enters the octagon to attend to Loktev. After a brief examination, Loktev is able to regain his footing and the physicians exit the cage, allowing both fighters to gather in the center of the octagon for the official announcement of the winner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Jack Gibbs has called for a stop in this fight at fifty-eight seconds in the very first round, declaring your winner by knockout, “200 Proof” Billy Tweeds!”

[The audience erupts in applause as Tweeds is declared the winner. The two fighters exchange a respectful handshake before going their separate ways. The screen displays a graphic with the fight’s statistics and the commentators give a summary of the match.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Welcome back to the broadcast, ladies and gentlemen. As we gear up for the first of two Bantamweight Grand Prix bouts, we can’t help but spotlight a potential future Union Champ in the building, the three-time Everest MMA Welterweight Champ, Derrius Webb! Spyda has gone two for two so far in his Union tenure and looks to continue his way up the rankings. If he continues down this path, I believe we could be seeing his face on the front of a Union Supercard Poster before this year’s over with.”

JASON JACKSON: “Absolutely, Bodie. Derrius Webb is a force to be reckoned with in the octagon. He’s got incredible speed, power, and technical skill that makes him a serious contender at any level. And let’s not forget about his mental game. Webb’s ability to stay calm and composed under pressure is what sets him apart from his opponents. If he keeps up his winning streak, there’s no doubt he’ll be in contention for a title fight soon enough. It’s definitely an exciting time to be a fan of MMA with the rising stars we are seeing!”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds and is a Quarterfinal bout in the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of eleven wins, one loss. She stands 5’4”, and weighing in at 135 pounds. She is from Miami, Florida, fighting out of 9th World Miami, presenting the number six ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, “The Feisty Cheetoh” Redd Lennox!”

[As Redd Lennox leans back against the fence of her corner, she appears eerily calm despite the deafening roar of the crowd around her. Her eyes flicker back and forth, scanning her opponent’s every move with hawk-like precision, while a faint smirk tugs at the corners of her lips.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Redd Lennox made her presence known with a unique opportunity during her appearance on DRIP 9. With her impressive win, she was rewarded with an entry in the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix. She made the most of it by bullying Magdalena Moruga for ten-plus minutes en route to a third round KO victory at Boss Fight XL. Now, she makes a huge leap in competition, facing one of Union’s all-time Bantamweight greats. JJ, a win here would be an upset for the ages based on name recognition, but if you’ve seen her compete, you’d know that she is a star in the making. She cannot allow the spotlight to get too bright for her in this pivotal moment, this is an opportunity that can change her life forever.”

JASON JACKSON: “You hit the nail on the head. Redd Lennox has definitely been making waves in the Bantamweight division, and her victory over Magdalena Moruga was nothing short of impressive. But let’s not forget, name recognition can only take you so far in this sport. It’s all about what you bring to the table, and Lennox has certainly proven that she has the skills and determination to go far. As for this upcoming bout against Meechan, well, it’s certainly a gargantuan challenge. Lennox has the ability to rise to the occasion and show the world what she’s made of. This is a big opportunity, and she knows it. She needs to stay focused, stay sharp, and give it everything she’s got.”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Muay Thai Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of eleven wins, three losses. He stands 5’10”, and weighing in at 135 pounds. He is from Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, fighting out of The ScrapYard MMA, presenting the former Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion and the number one ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, “Playboy” Dallas Meechan!”

[As the arena fell silent, all eyes were fixated on Meechan, whose piercing gaze seemed to cut through the air like a knife. Referee Bruno Alves cleared his throat and began to recite the rules, but even his authoritative tone couldn’t distract from the intensity of Meechan’s stare.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Take a close look at Dallas Meechan. This man is all business tonight. He knows a victory tonight will mean everything to him. It’s not just about the glory of the win, but what it represents for his future in the cage. This could be the juncture that leads him to his long-awaited third shot at Gianna Howard, or perhaps a highly anticipated fourth installment against Lauren Moore. Either way, he knows that the stakes are high and the pressure is on. This is more than just a fight. It’s a make-or-break moment that could define the remainder of his fighting career.”

JASON JACKSON: “Meechan looks like a man possessed, and he knows that a victory here would be the key to unlocking the doors to some of the biggest fights in his career. It’s not just about the win, but what it symbolizes for his future. It’s like a chess match out there, every move carefully calculated, every strike precise. Meechan has shown us why he’s one of the top fighters in this division, and he’s not leaving anything to chance. The pressure is definitely on, but he thrives in these moments. This is the kind of fight that legends are made of.”

[The energy in the arena is electric as the bell rings, signaling the start of the fight. Redd Lennox doesn’t waste any time, launching a barrage of punches that takes Dallas Meechan from one end of the cage to the other. Lennox throws a one-two combo and then fakes a move to fire a big right hand on the chin, the strikes hitting home and leaving a small cut on Meechan’s chin. Meechan responds with a furious low kick that Lennox manages to check, but Meechan catches her with an uppercut to the face as Lennox steps forward. The two exchange wild blows, with Lennox connecting with a few punches. Meechan then launches a stiff jab that Lennox ducks under.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Redd Lennox showing everybody why they call her The Feisty Cheetoh with an incredible flurry of punches! I think that woke Dally up a bit.”

JASON JACKSON: “Her boxing is suburb, Bodie. The hand speed, the crispness, the head movement. You can tell that she has been boxing for most of her life. It just comes natural to her.”

[Meechan leans forward and attempts to grapple with Lennox, showcasing his clinching skills, and both fighters are now clinching. However, Lennox is not keen on clinching, and she ducks under Meechan’s embrace, trying to move away. Meechan pushes Lennox forward, not allowing her to break the clinch. The two fighters exchange strikes from the clinch, with Meechan trying to counter. Meechan attempts to take Lennox to the ground from the clinch, but Lennox sprawls back and remains on her feet. Lennox pushes Meechan away, trying to keep the fight at striking range, but Meechan continues to grapple.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Smart move from Meechan to clinch. Slow things down and create some time to set up your offense.”

JASON JACKSON: “Nice sprawl to stuff that takedown though. She wants to keep this fight on the feet, that much is clear. It’s always interesting to see these boxers in the clinch though. Some are natural dirty boxers, and some folks freeze up when they are a boxer and someone gets their hands on them. Let’s see how Redd handles this.”

[As the fighters continue, Lennox tries to shrug her way out, but Meechan is determined to work from the clinch and pummels through, managing to retain his position. The two continue to exchange blows, with Lennox landing several punches. Lennox then pushes Meechan away, trying to keep the fight at striking range, but Meechan continues to grapple with her. As the fight continues, Lennox misses a step, and Meechan sees an opportunity to counter. Meechan ducks under Lennox’s embrace and tries to move away, but Lennox pushes him forward, not allowing him to break the clinch.]

[With the clock ticking away, Lennox manages to put some distance between them with a nice move, stepping forward, and Meechan feinting. But in a stunning display of power, Meechan unleashes a bone-shattering straight left hand that Lennox ducks under. Meechan then launches a crisp uppercut that Lennox manages to avoid, bringing the round to a thrilling conclusion.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Tightly contested round from both fighters. Lennox seems to have the upper hand with her sharp jabs and calculated movements, but Meechan refused to back down and kept pressuring her with an unwavering spirit. You gotta give the nod to Lennox on the scorecards, though, but Meechan is still very much in this fight, and anything could happen in the second round with some proper adjustments.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah Meechan was definitely out boxed. I give the edge slightly to Lennox in this round, but this relentless pace that Dallas sets may have a lasting effect on her if she doesn’t find a way to slow him down and make him second guess closing the distance. Nice round from both though. Great fight so far.”

[As the second round begins, the two fighters meet in the center of the octagon. Meechan, with his game face on, steps forward, ready to take on Lennox. But before he knows it, Lennox catches him with a powerful uppercut that lands right on his chin. The impact of the punch is so intense that Meechan’s mouth is bruised, and he looks a bit groggy. But Meechan is not one to back down. He throws a punch, but Lennox deflects it with ease. And just when Meechan thinks he has a chance to land another punch, Lennox surprises him with a roundhouse punch that sends him reeling.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Meechan is showing some incredible resiliency, but Lennox is matching that energy with great footwork and picking her shots.”

JASON JACKSON: “OOOOOOH. Big shots landing here from Redd Lennox. She is putting these combos together beautifully, and tacking them ofdf with some HUGE punches.”

[Meechan is in trouble now. Lennox knows it, and she’s not going to let this opportunity go to waste. She runs forward with a barrage of jabs and crosses, and Meechan is left staggering. Lennox throws a looping left hand, and it lands right on Meechan’s chin. Meechan is out cold! Lennox wins in highlight-reel fashion!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Oooh! That’s it! It’s all over! Redd Lennox just dropped her greatest hits and sent Dallas Meechan to the land of wind and ghosts!”

JASON JACKSON: “Hoooooooly shit. We just got THREE. One. Two. THREE Knockout finishes in a row. That one was a masterpiece though. This gal can box, Bodie. She’s got some real skill and now she’s headed to the Semi-Finals. One step closer to Bantamweight gold. I think I just became a fan. Hell, she might win the whole damn thing. I’m impressed.”

[As Lennox triumphantly embraces her coaches, the audience erupts into deafening applause. The medical team quickly enters the octagon to attend to Meechan. After a brief examination, Meechan is able to regain his footing and the physicians exit the cage, allowing both fighters to gather in the center of the octagon for the official announcement of the winner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Bruno Alves has called for a stop in this fight at one minute in the second round, declaring your winner by knockout, “The Feisty Cheetoh” Redd Lennox!”

[The audience erupts in applause as Lennox is declared the winner. The two fighters exchange a respectful handshake before going their separate ways. The screen displays a graphic with the fight’s statistics and the commentators give a summary of the match.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Welcome back from the break, folks. Before we move on to the Co-Main Event of the evening, we’d like to remind you that coming up soon for Boss Fight XLI that woman right there, former Everest MMA Strawweight Champion Eugenie Bombelles will Main Event the card as she takes on a fellow former Everest Strawweight Champ Rachel Parsons in a quarterfinals bout in the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix. That’s gonna be an absolute barn burner that you won’t want to miss!”

JASON JACKSON: “ For sure, uce. I’ve had the pleasure of watching both Eugenie Bombelles and Rachel Parsons fight in the past, and let me tell you, these two women are some of the toughest fighters out there. The fact that they’re facing each other in a quarterfinals bout for the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix is just icing on the cake. I have no doubt that they’ll bring their A-game to the octagon, and I can’t wait to see who comes out on top. It’s definitely a fight that fans won’t want to miss.”

CALIFORNIA LOVE!

[The arena begins to dim as “California Love” starts to play, and a lot of the crowd pops to their feet for the inaugural Bantamweight Champion, who looks to reclaim her crown–uncharacteristically, though, when Lauren does come through the curtain, her usual beaming smile isn’t there. Eyes staring straight ahead, the usually fan-friendly Cali girl has been replaced for this evening by a more composed, a more serious version of herself; the only reason she’s not full-bore marching down the aisle, is she’s taking the time to keep herself warmed up, bouncing from foot to foot every few steps.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Making her way to the octagon is the former inaugural Bantamweight Champion, the one and only Lauren Moore. A true Union original, she has been a force to be reckoned with since day one. Take a glance at her resume, and you’ll see that it is star-studded, filled with victories over the biggest names in the sport. But tonight, she faces her biggest challenge yet as she looks to make history by becoming the first two-time 135 pound Champ in Union GP. L-Mo is known for her relentless wrestling and ruthless ground and pound, skills that have earned her a reputation as one of the most formidable fighters in the game. But she’ll need to bring her A-game tonight as she squares off against the next big thing in the Bantamweight Division. The stakes have never been higher for L-Mo, and the pressure is on as she steps into the octagon tonight.”

JASON JACKSON: “L-Mo’s wrestling skills are second to none, and she’s got ground and pound that could make even the toughest fighters tremble. But you know what they say, Bodie, pressure makes diamonds, and tonight, the pressure is on for L-Mo to shine. She’s not just fighting for another championship belt, she’s fighting for history, and that’s no small feat. Her wrestling is her bread and butter, but let’s not overlook her striking. She has improved tremendously over the years, and she’s not afraid to stand and bang if she needs to. But, of course, her opponent knows that too and will likely try to keep the fight on the feet and give her a live action litmus test.”

[Once Lauren makes it to cageside, she strips off her jacket and warm up pants, passing them off to the coach closest to her. Each member of her corner bumps fists with the former Bantamweight Champion, seemingly knowing she’s in a different mindset tonight, before she turns to face the official to be inspected. Once she’s been cleared, Lauren climbs the steps and sprints across the cage before shuffling over to her corner, where she awaits the champion, all the while pacing back and forth in front of her corner.]

THERE IS A HOUSE IN A CHARMING TOWN
THEY CALL THE RISING SUN
AND IT’S BEEN THE RUIN OF MANY A POOR GIRL
AND ME, OH GOD, I’M ONE

[Rather than her usual song, White Buffalo’s cover of “House of the Rising Sun” is what fills the arena as the lights cut to black, and the raucous reception the Challenger received is replaced by a mixed reception for the Champion; some fans cheer their hearts out for The Ghost, others have seen her become more and more antagonistic over time. Red house lights world around the crowd, with a spotlight pointed right at the entrance tunnel–and when the curtain is pushed aside, and the THRONE rep makes her way out onto the stage, it’s only then that things get back to normal.]

WHEN DARKNESS FALLS, MAY IT BE
THAT WE SHOULD SEE THE LIGHT
WHEN REAPER CALLS, MAY IT BE
THAT WE WALK STRAIGHT AND RIGHT

[Bouncing on the soles of her feet at the foot of the entrance tunnel, Gianna lifts both arms to beckon on whatever reaction the split crowd wants to give her as Metallica’s “Now That We’re Dead” replaces “House of the Rising Sun.” The Bantamweight Championship is strapped around her waist, and with every movement Gianna makes, it catches a different set of lights in the arena, the gold shining brightly around the otherwise black entrance gear of The Ghost.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to witness a living legend in action! The 2022 Union GP Fighter of the Year “The Ghost” Gianna Howard is making her way to the octagon and she’s ready to dominate like never before! This woman is a force to be reckoned with, folks. In 2022, she crushed the competition and defended her Bantamweight Champion title four times, tying the division record. But that’s not enough for Gianna. Oh no. Tonight, she’s going for the win that will make history and break the record! Now, let me tell you, Gianna is not your average fighter. She’s a terminator inside the cage, with a killer instinct that’s left twelve opponents flat on the mat, and tonight, she’s got a fresh matchup that’s gonna put her skills to the test. But let’s not forget who’s the favorite here. Gianna’s got the odds in her favor, and for good reason. She’s a machine when she’s on her feet, and she’s gonna do everything in her power to keep it that way.”

JASON JACKSON: “We’ve got a real treat for tonight’s Co-Main Event. The ‘Ghost herself is stepping into the octagon once again. This woman is a legend in the making. But let’s not forget, Bodie, every hero needs a villain, and Gianna has had no problems playing that role as of late. There’s a new challenger looking to make a name for themselves by taking down the queen of the division. But don’t count Gianna out just yet. She’s faced tough challenges time and time again, and come out on top. It’s gonna take a lot more than just a fresh face to knock this champ off her throne.”

[For the fans that are in The Ghost’s corner tonight? There’s absolutely no time Gianna won’t spend with them, bumping fists with several of them on the way down, even peeling off her beanie and passing it off to one of the fans along the entrance aisle. Eventually, though, even The Ghost has to make her way to the cage. She unstraps her title first, thrusting it into the air before passing it and her warm up suit off to her teammates. She embraces each member of her corner before turning to the cageside official to get inspected. Once she’s given the OK, it’s a quick three steps up to cageside, then she more or less saunters her way into the center of the cage, extending her arms out wide before backing her way into her corner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Co-Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Micah Perry, Kendal Pearson, and Jamie Black, and when the action begins, our referee in charge of the octagon is Colin Davenport. AND NOW, the following contest is scheduled for five rounds, it is a Quarterfinal bout in the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix, and it is for the UNDISPUTED Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Championship! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, THE  CHALLENGER! She is a Freestyle Wrestler, holding a professional mixed martial arts record of eleven wins, seven losses, with one no-contest. She stands 5’7” tall, and weighed in at 135 pounds. She is from Irvine, California, fighting out of Los Angeles, California! Presenting the former Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion and the number three ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, LAUREN “L-MO” MOORE!

[Uncharacteristically stoic, Lauren just raises a fist as she keeps pacing in front of her corner the entire time she’s introduced.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner: she is a Kickboxer, holding a professional mixed martial arts record of twelve wins, two losses. She stands 5’6”, and weighed in at 134.5 pounds. She is from Phoenix, Arizona, fighting out of THRONE MMA in Las Vegas, Nevada! She is the #1 ranked Pound for Pound fighter in Union Grand Prix, and tonight, she looks to set the record for defenses of the Bantamweight Championship! Introducing, the reigning, defending, undisputed Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion of the World, “The Ghost” Gianna Howard!”

[Gianna pounds her chest three times as she’s introduced, before spreading her arms out wide as her name is called.]

[The official calls both Champion and Challenger to the center of the cage, before going through the last of the formalites.]

COLIN DAVENPORT: “Alright, ladies, we’ve already gone over the rules in the back. Any questions from you, blue? Any questions from you, red? Protect yourselves at all times, follow my instructions. Touch gloves if you want to, and let’s have a clean fight.”

[Both women shake hands before turning back to their corners, leaving Colin to make one final check that both are ready, before calling for the fight to begin.]

[There is absolutely no feeling out process in the first round–no sooner do the two ladies touch gloves, than Gianna snaps off a low leg kick, followed by an absolutely snapping body kick that forces Lauren back a step or two. Lauren shakes it off quickly though and pushes forward, jabbing her way in range before landing a nice strong right hook! Gianna actually seems shocked that Lauren hit her, and in that surprise, Lauren changes levels and drives Gianna to the mat with a double leg takedown! With, it has to be said, relative ease, Lauren moves first to side mount, then to full mount, before landing some decent shots from on top! Gianna’s able to scramble to recover her guard, and in the process of trying to recover her position, Lauren leaves herself open and gets flipped over! Gianna takes full mount now!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “L-Mo was looking strong to open the round, but she got a little overzealous and Gianna took advantage of it.”

JASON JACKSON: “Beautiful sweep there, Bodie. Now Lauren is in a real disadvantageous position. I don’t know many wrestlers that like fighting off their backs, so it’s going to be interesting here to see how she handles this pressure and if she can scramble back to her feet.”

[Lauren’s struggles off her back aren’t the biggest secret in the world, and even under a…less than elite grappler like Gianna, Lauren struggles to escape from the mount position; the moment she almost recovers half-guard, Gianna switches and moves to side mount instead. Lauren keeps the scramble going, though, fishing for that butterfly hook that could recover her guard, but Gianna’s able to keep her position and pin Lauren in place–she’s not doing any damage, though, and Colin Davenport has noticed, and ultimately stands the two ladies up.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Not much action on the ground and referee Colin Davenport decides to stand them back up. I will say though, it’s very interesting seeing Gianna hold her own on the ground against Moore.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, you can certainly tell she’s been working on her ground game this camp. Very good transitions and counters. She’s grinding Lauren down, wearing her out. She wants her so tired that she CAN’T shoot for takedowns anymore. Smart.”

[Lauren…didn’t seem to appreciate that, as she immediately jabs her way into range, backing Gianna up to the cage before tying her up and absolutely SLAMMING her back to the mat! Gianna keeps her guard, but she eats a couple big shots from Lauren, forcing her to cover up; only when Lauren has to take a moment to conserve her energy does Gianna manage to start working again, catching Lauren’s arm and turning her over to full mount again!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “What a tremendous throw from Lauren Moore! It looked like Howard got the wind knocked out of her for a second, but look at her go, she’s right back in full mount!”

JASON JACKSON: “She went for a RIDE, Bodie! But AGAIN another slick sweep and she’s back in dominant position. Her Jiu Jitsu coaches are definitely getting a raise after this.”

[There’s a lot of position battling on the ground again, though Gianna does manage to land a couple big elbows from on top this time, but Lauren covers up to prevent any more getting through. Lauren manages to recover her half-guard for a moment, only for it to be sliced through as Gianna moves straight back to full mount! But she doesn’t have time to do anything with the recovered mount, as the horn sounds to end round one.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Very interesting, JJ. Very interesting. We saw the majority of the round in Lauren Moore’s playground, and yet Gianna Howard was able to stifle any offensive attacks. You can clearly see that Howard has fully prepared herself for Moore.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, we’re getting a more well rounded version of the champion here tonight. She’s known for her tremendous striking ability but it appears like she’s really made some progress in her latest camp in regard to the grappling department. What a great fight so far.”

[Gianna presses the action to start round two, snapping off a couple jabs that Lauren only barely manages to parry–but the jabs weren’t the point; instead, the follow-up uppercut snaps Lauren’s head back and forces her to circle away from the Bantamweight Champ. Gianna’s confidence is clearly boosted by seeing Lauren back off every time she gets  hit, and Gianna tucks her hands behind her back and extends her chin, loudly begging for Lauren to throw a punch. Might’ve been a bad move on The Ghost’s part, though; L-Mo is all too happy to accommodate, and wings an overhand right that clips Gianna on the chin!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Oooh! Gianna tried to ridicule Lauren with some showboating but it backfired on her big time!”

JASON JACKSON: “Yikes. It was at this moment she knew… she fucked up. That one rung her bell.”

[Gianna’s arrogance turns to anger, and she snaps off another stinging body kick that wrenches Lauren to the side, although the exchange that follows doesn’t result in any big shot landing for either woman. Gianna over-commits to a big head kick, and Lauren changes levels and drives her to the mat with another powerful double leg takedown! Lauren doesn’t waste any time on the ground this time, absolutely CRACKING Gianna with a big elbow that forces the Champ to cover up, before slamming a few punches to the body.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Another slick takedown by Moore. She times those up so perfectly, G didn’t have a clue it was coming.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, she has those dialed in Bodie. That was an impressive power double but OOH! That elbow did some damage. Gianna is turtled up now..”

[Lauren’s attack pattern becomes obvious, if it wasn’t already–a couple digging body shots, then a big, winging punch to the head; Gianna’s able to cover up and block most of the shots, though, and eventually catches Lauren’s arm to stop the attack. Lauren rips her arm free, but in the process, she leaves enough room for Gianna to push off and scramble back to her feet! Begrudgingly, L-Mo follows Gianna back up, and the fight resets.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Nice escape from the champion. Let’s see now if her demeanor changes after getting clipped with a battering overhand right.”

JASON JACKSON: “She’s doing a great job at getting out of danger on the ground. Whether it’s by sweeping and getting dominant position, or finding a way back to her feet. She’s making L-Mo expend a lot of energy for very little payout.”

[Gianna’s plan of attack changes abruptly–she starts targeting Lauren’s lead leg, that’s been injured multiple times in her career; a series of stinging kicks just above the knee keep Lauren on her toes, but a WICKED uppercut from the Challenger nearly puts Gianna down! Lauren manages to land a nice one-two combo, but the follow-up power shot is blocked and countered with a spinning body kick! Lauren winces at the impact, but presses forward anyway, narrowly avoiding a big head kick! She keeps pressing forward, though, and manages to get a hold of Gianna again–but this time, The Ghost stays on her feet, and the rest of the round plays out with Lauren struggling in vain for the takedown before the horn sounds.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “What a way to end the round! Both of these women are starting to find their rhythm and letting it fly. I liked the adjustments Lauren Moore made this round. I think at worst we’re tied up one a piece, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s two-zip for Moore.”

JASON JACKSON: “I’m not going to lie to you Bodie. I’ve got both rounds so far going to Moore on my scorecards. The takedowns are the factor. Yes, Gianna has been able to escape and get back to her feet but the aggression, pace, and takedowns of L-Mo are what gives her the slight edge. She also landed quite a few significant shots in the last round. Gianna really has to step it up here and take every round from here out or get a finish to win this.”

[Gianna’s started both rounds on the aggressive, and she does it again in round 3–right into a POWERFUL double leg takedown from Lauren, that lifts The Ghost clean off her feet! Lauren passes with ease to side mount, then to full mount, and immediately drops a couple massive elbows that bounce Gianna’s head off the mat! The Champ’s eyes spin for a second, but eventually she’s able to recover her wits and cover up before Lauren can do too much more damage straight out of the gate. Gianna starts digging to recover her half-guard, but it takes her…several seconds to get out from underneath Lauren; she’s eventually able to get back to full-guard, but Lauren’s made it difficult for her–and only really gives up the position for a moment, before sliding back to half-guard herself.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Lauren Moore’s corner must have lit a fire under her. She’s putting it on the champ right now!”

JASON JACKSON: “Another NASTY takedown by the challenger and we have a FIGHT on our hands ladies and gentlemen. A barrage of elbows land and Gianna looks like she might be in bad trouble here..”

[Lauren throws a big, winging punch from on top, that Gianna’s able to avoid and trap the arm, turning Lauren over with raw power instead of any form of technique; now on top, Gianna slams a couple shots in to Lauren’s ribs, forcing the Challenger to try to improve her position…but when she makes the move, Gianna slides her leg free and passes to side mount again! Lauren manages to scramble back to half-guard quickly, but when she tries to recover full guard, Gianna just shucks her leg aside and passes back to side mount! The back and forth jockeying for position lasts a while, before Gianna’s able to take advantage of one of Lauren’s attempts to escape and slide over into full mount!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Man, you gotta hand it to Gianna. She’s not really known to have a strong ground game, but she continues to grind her way into better positions and is really making L-Mo work for it.”

JASON JACKSON: “This is a chess match right now. Grappling at it’s finest.”

[Lauren throws a few punches up from underneath, but they seem to annoy Gianna more than they do hurt her; in fact, she responds with a couple big shots of her own that force Lauren to cover up rather than work to improve her position, and give Gianna a chance to solidify her mount. However, beyond that, Gianna doesn’t land a whole lot, and eventually Colin Davenport stands them up–to a mixed reaction from the crowd, as the Champion was in one of the more dominant positions she could’ve been.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Back on the feet again, and it doesn’t sound like the fans here are too thrilled with that decision.”

JASON JACKSON: “EH. You know me, I’m usually one to complain myself, especially because they were putting in work just a minute ago. But to me, it had stalled out. Why not start fresh instead of wasting forty five seconds of no action?”

[Back on the feet, Gianna snaps off another kick just above Lauren’s knee, then a front kick that pops the Challenger in the mouth! Lauren’s stunned and wobbles backward a bit, but when Gianna presses the action, she nearly gets her head taken off by a MASSIVE left hand from Moore! Lauren drives forward with another double-leg attempt, but Gianna keeps her balance and Lauren resorts to pulling guard–for better or worse, as she’s unable to use it to get on top of Gianna before the horn sounds to end the round.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “That was a much better round for Gianna Howard, and the way she finished the round targeting that leg that has historically been an issue for Moore shows that she’s done her homework.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah. Some people might say that it’s a dirty tactic but hey… fuck em. I’d do the same damn thing and I’m not even sorry. Go for the crack in the armor every time. That’s the name of the game baby,  and it’s a risk you take continuing to fight after suffering a serious injury.”

[Lauren tries the same trick in round 4, as she did in round 3; immediately dropping for a takedown when Gianna presses the action–this time, though, The Ghost stays on her feet, and absolutely ROCKS Lauren with a three punch combo in response! Lauren keeps trying, though, driving forward until Gianna’s up against the cage. The Champion manages to get her leg free and circle away from Moore, snapping off another leg kick before a quick body shot as well! Lauren still presses the action, but every time she comes in, Gianna smacks her with something–a jab, a straight left, or in one particularly nasty instance, an oblique kick right above the previously injured knee of her opponent.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Gaaawwww! That was an absolutely filthy kick. I’m surprised Moore can still stand after that.”

JASON JACKSON: “Her leg looks a little wobbly after that kick for sure.”

[Despite the pain, Lauren tries to shoot–this time from way out, and eats an absolutely MASSIVE knee to the sternum that nearly puts her down! Gianna lands a couple hammer fists while Lauren’s regaining her breath, but the Cali girl’s able to back out before she takes too much damage from those shots. Gianna follows her, though, and snaps off a quick one-two combo, punctuated by another low kick that clearly has Lauren’s attention, then an uppercut that rocks L-Mo!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Lauren Moore is hurt! She’s in big trouble here, JJ. She’s gotta get herself out of it or she’s gonna get starched!”

JASON JACKSON: “The worst thing she can do here is panic and try to shoot for a desperation takedown. Gianna has them dialed up right now and if she does it’s going to be LIGHTS OUT. Mark my words.”

[With Lauren circling away, Gianna starts to goad her to fight again, yelling…something at her, that the noise of the crowd makes unclear. It doesn’t work on Lauren, though–not this time, anyway–and instead Gianna snaps off a big head kick that NARROWLY misses; the follow up leg kick doesn’t, though, and it looks like Gianna may have hyper-extended Lauren’s knee! The damage to her knee clearly has Lauren worried, as she switches stances to fight Southpaw–and eats an absolutely massive kick to the body! At first it seems like it just makes Lauren angry…until she abruptly crumbles to the mat a couple seconds later! Colin Davenport scrambles in to stop the fight, but Gianna’s already walked off to stand on the Union GP logo at center-cage, arms out-stretched.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “It is all over! The Ghost connects with a devastating body kick that folds Lauren Moore like a lawn chair to score the highlight finish!”

JASON JACKSON: “Walk off body shot KO by the champ. Holy shit what a N A S T Y kick by Gianna Howard. They heard that all the way up in the nosebleeds. Brilliant performance and you know she’s in line for some bonus money after that one.”

[Gianna continues to boast as the audience erupts into deafening cheers. The medical team quickly enters the octagon to attend to Moore. After a brief examination, Moore is able to regain her footing and the physicians exit the cage, allowing both fighters to gather in the center of the octagon for the official announcement of the winner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Colin Davenport has called for a stop in this fight at four minutes thirty-three seconds in the fourth round, declaring your winner by technical knockout, AAAAAANND STIIIILLL the undisputed Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion of the World, “The Ghost” Gianna Howard!”

[The audience erupts in applause as Gianna is declared the winner and has her championship belt wrapped around her waist. The two fighters exchange a respectful handshake before eventually going their separate ways. The screen displays a graphic with the fight’s statistics and the commentators give a summary of the match.]

[The rowdy cheers of the crowd begin to fade and in strides Bodie Sullivan, microphone in hand, waiting for the right time to slide in for a quick interview. He takes a moment to survey the electrifying scene, the air pulsing with intensity as Gianna stands victorious in the center of the octagon, her eyes ablaze with triumph and exhaustion yet still enough adrenaline to celebrate.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with the AND STILL Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion! Gianna, congratulations on another successful title defense. You’ve just set a new record for the Bantamweight Division with five straight defenses. How does it feel?”

[Gianna grins and undoes the belt from around her waist, clinching it in her right fist and lifting it up over her head. The fans in the crowd that are here for The Ghost erupt in cheers, before she drapes her title over her shoulder.]

GIANNA HOWARD: “Hey, this is what tonight was about for me. I’ve said ever since I won this belt, I’m not here to be one of the best–I’m here to be the best, period. I’ve put my stamp on this division, but we ain’t done yet, Bodie. There’s still at least two more fights coming, I’m finishing this tournament with my belt still on my shoulder.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “You had a tough fight tonight against Lauren Moore. It was close, closer than a lot of critics might have expected, but you came out on top. What was your game plan going into the fight?”

GIANNA HOWARD: “We all know what Lauren’s about, right? Take you down, beat the hell out of you on the mat. She got that first part done more than most people could, but…gimme time to gameplan for somebody, and I’m gonna find a way to stop whatever it is they do. From there? Pretty simple–hit her harder and more often than she hits me. Make her deal with a powerful striker she’s never dealt with before.  She’s a tough chick, but…I knew as soon as this fight was official, she wouldn’t be able to handle me on the feet.”

BODIE SULLIVAN:  “Speaking of power, you’ve been knocking out a lot of your opponents lately. Is that something you’ve been focusing on?”

GIANNA HOWARD:  “Yanno, Bodie, I’ve been saying for a long time, I’m the best fighter in this division. I am the best at 135 lbs, whether it’s the Union originals, or this new crop of Everest graduates, I am a level above everybody in this division right now. So, yeah, I’ve been knocking people out–but that shouldn’t be a big surprise. I’m going to find a way to do what I do better than anyone else, and as soon as I get that chance, well…”

[Gianna gestures toward the monitor, still showing the fight highlights on replay.]

BODIE SULLIVAN:  “You’re definitely a crowd pleaser, Gianna. But some people have been saying that you take things too far, with your pre-fight antics and the showboating during the fights. What do you have to say to those critics?”

GIANNA HOWARD:  “Y’all must be new, if you think me talking in the middle of fights is ‘going too far’ now. I’m here to win fights–period. For twenty-five minutes, or until they fall down, we’re not in the respect business, we’re in the business of winning fights–so I’m gonna do what I gotta do to make sure the one walking out with their hand raised is me.”

BODIE SULLIVAN:  “With this win, you now move onto the semifinals in the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix, where you’ll be facing the rising contender Redd Lennox. Do you have any thoughts on that matchup?”

GIANNA HOWARD:  “…Good for her?”

[Gianna shrugs her shoulders a little bit, her point made moments earlier possibly beating out this question.]

GIANNA HOWARD:  “I mean, well done on finding a way into this kinda opportunity without ever taking a Union fight before, but…I dunno how else to say it, I don’t see anyone that’s taking this title from me until I’m done with it. More than anything, though? I said it all last year, I want to stay active–I hate those long layoffs, waiting on new contenders to make their way up, so at least now I’ve got a new fight every few weeks. That’s what I want, yanno; I don’t wanna sit on my ass for months at a time. As far as this fight with Redd, though? Make no mistake about it, Bodie, this cage, this division, it’s mine until I’m done with it. It coulda been Dallas for the third time, or it coulda been Redd, the result in a few weeks is gonna be the same.”

[Again, The Ghost raises her belt up, a sly little smirk on her face.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, we’ll definitely be looking forward to your next fight, Gianna. As always, it’s an honor to call your fights. Congratulations again on a fantastic win tonight and we’ll see you soon. Ladies and Gentlemen, give it up for the Bantamweight Champ, Gianna Howard!”

[After a quick handshake, Bodie wastes no time and swiftly exits the octagon, leaving Gianna with her coaches in the octagon to soak in the crowd’s reaction. The adrenaline rush is still pumping through her veins as she looks around at the sea of people cheering and jeering. She climbs the fence and perches on top, pounding her chest and and screaming out to egg on the already excited crowd. Her charismatic energy and showmanship amplify the cheers and screams of the crowd. As the broadcast gradually fades out for a commercial break, the excitement in the arena continues to resonate, leaving everyone on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the final thrilling fight of the night.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “We’re back folks and readying ourselves for the Main Event! Before we shift to the action, be sure to keep a close eye for the next Ryūjin FC card, RFC 3: Duality. From what I’m hearing, that man right there, Zion Momo’a, may very well be next in line for a shot at the Ryūjin Championship. Imagine the build between the Buzzsaw and “Supastar” CC Flynn. The MMA World just might implode!”

JASON JACKSON: “I couldn’t agree more. Zion Momo’a has been on a tear lately, and his recent performances could very well be the deciding factor in him getting a shot at the title. But let’s not forget about the current champion, CC Flynn. She’s beaten two big stars back-to-back in Donnie Calabrese and Roscoe Robinson. Although they haven’t come without a lot of controversy, at the end of the day, a win is a win. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.”

I CAN FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT, (OH LORD)
AND I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT, FOR ALL MY LIFE, (OH LORD)
CAN YOU FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT, OH LORD, (OH LORD)

[The atmosphere in the arena was electric, with the anticipation of the Main Event fight hanging heavy in the air. The chatter of the crowd had reached a fever pitch as the music began to blare through the speakers, and they erupted into cheers and applause. It was the unmistakable sound of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” and it could only mean one thing: Travis Decker was about to make his entrance.]

[Travis emerged from the tunnel, looking like a man possessed. His eyes were fixed firmly on the cage ahead of him, and he marched towards it with a sense of purpose that was particularly noticeable. His team of coaches followed closely behind him, but he paid them no attention. All his focus was on the octagon. The intensity of the moment was almost overwhelming. The air crackled with energy, and you could feel the tension building with each step Travis took. It was clear that he was ready for war, and he was prepared to do whatever it took to come out on top.]

[Despite the raucous cheers of the crowd, Travis remained stoic, his eyes never leaving the cage. He was completely in the zone, lost in his own thoughts and strategies for the upcoming fight. It was as though he had blocked out the entire world around him, and all that mattered was the battle that lay ahead.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The main event is about to kick off, and we’re thrilled to bring you live coverage from the electrifying Smoothie King Center in the heart of New Orleans. Making his way to the octagon now is the former Middleweight Champion Travis Decker, who looks as focused as ever for the task ahead of him. JJ, what can you tell us about this talented fighter?”

JASON JACKSON: “Bodie, let me tell you, we all know that Travis Decker is a force to be reckoned with! He’s a seasoned 36-year-old kickboxer from the windy city of Chicago, and he’s got his sights set on reclaiming his former Middleweight Title tonight. With years of experience in the cage, Travis is a dangerous opponent who knows how to get the job done.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “No doubt about it! Travis Decker has been in the limelight before, having tied the all-time Middleweight title defense record while riding a seven fight win streak. So, what do you think his strategy will be tonight, JJ?”

JASON JACKSON: “Well, Uce, gather ‘round and let me learn ya something. Travis Decker is a master of striking. He’s got some lethal skills when it comes to using his feet to put his opponents to sleep. So, I think he’ll be looking to keep the fight standing and make the most of his striking from the outside, using those leg kicks and nastyyyy headkicks to keep the opponent at bay. Decker does have some solid wrestling too, although he’s veered away from it. But he’s always got that in his back pocket if things go sideways on him.”

[Decker makes it to cageside where he strips down to his trunks and gives each of his cornermen one last hug before turning to the official. Once he gets inspected and cleared, Decker looks up and points to the heavens before racing up the steps. As he climbed into the cage, the crowd’s roar reached a crescendo, but Travis was unfazed. He was a man on a mission, and he was ready to take on anyone who stood in his way. One of his coaches pours some water on the mat as he settles in his corner to wipe his feet and gain a little added grip. Decker remains dialed in as he awaits his opponent.]

[As the final moments of anticipation filled the arena, the lights suddenly cut to pitch black darkness, sending a wave of hushed murmurs through the crowd. The air was thick with an electric tension, every heart beating as one with excitement and anticipation. Suddenly, a deep humming sound echoed through the air, sending shivers down the spines of everyone present.]

[It was the intro to “Till I Die” by Zuse, the soundtrack to the momentous event that was about to unfold. Spotlights began scanning the entire arena, illuminating the shadows and adding to the suspense. The crowd erupted into deafening cheers as the heavy beat of the song finally dropped, shaking the very foundation of the building.]

IMMA HUSTLE EVERYDAY ‘TIL THE DAY I DIE
IN THE TRENCHES WITH MY NIGGAS TRYING TO STAY ALIVE
COCKROACHES ON THE FLOOR WHERE I LAY AT NIGHT
THIS MY GHETTO GOT A WHOLE DIFFERENT WAY OF LIFE

[As the arena roars with anticipation, a figure slowly emerges, captivating the audience with every step. It’s Lovelie Saint-Cyr, the Middleweight Champion of the World. His shoulders are draped with a unique and powerful symbol – a sewn-together American and Haitian flag – a testament to his heritage and the struggles he’s faced throughout his life. With his eyes locked on the octagon, Saint-Cyr never wavers in his stride. His calm and collected demeanor exudes confidence and fearlessness, as if he’s already won the fight before it’s even begun. His cornermen – Roscoe Robinson, Donnie Calabrese, and Jakko Wirman – follow closely behind, each of them radiating an aura of unwavering support and trust in their champion and Hit Squad brother.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And now with the final walkout of the night, it’s the reigning, defending, undisputed Union Grand Prix Middleweight Champion, Lovelie Saint-Cyr! He comes into this fight at just 24 years old, spearheading a youth movement, but he’s already established himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the game.”

JASON JACKSON: “Saint-Cyr is stepping into the octagon tonight as the reigning champion in one of the most historically vicious divisions that has been dominated mostly by well-established veterans. He’s a Shotokan Karate practitioner who’s been making waves in the MMA world ever since he turned pro. He’s a former Everest MMA Welterweight Champion and tonight he’s fighting on the last fight of his current contract deal. So, he’s got everything to fight for.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “That’s right, JJ. Saint-Cyr has had an impressive career so far. He’s got a record of ten wins and four losses. It’s very noteworthy and worth mentioning that two of those losses were a three and five round decision loss to the current HEAVYWEIGHT Champion, Gauge Lattimore. What can you tell us about his fighting style?”

JASON JACKSON: “On top of having the heart of a lion, as you mentioned, Saint-Cyr is a Shotokan Karate practitioner. So, he’s got a unique style that’s characterized by his quick strikes and fluid movement. He’s able to close the distance quickly and efficiently, land a few pinpoint strikes, and be back out at range before you can swing back. Which will be helpful against decker who likes to fight at range. He’s also got a solid ground game which could be a key factor in tonight’s fight if it goes to the ground.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Saint-Cyr was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, but mostly grew up in Flint, Michigan. How has his background influenced his fighting style?”

JASON JACKSON: “I think growing up in Flint, Michigan, which is known for its tough and gritty environment, has definitely played a role in Saint-Cyr’s fighting style. He’s a fighter who’s not afraid to get into the trenches and brawl it out. But he’s also got the technical skills to outsmart his opponents.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Saint-Cyr trains at the Hit Squad. You know a little about that facility as you trained there for your fight with Viktor Volkov. What can you tell us about his training regimen?”

JASON JACKSON: “The Hit Squad is known for its tough training regimen and it’s built like a brotherhood there with everyone motivating each other to improve themselves daily. Saint-Cyr is training with some of the best coaches and fighters in the game. He’s been putting in a lot of work to improve his ground game and his overall strategy. So, I think we can expect to see the best version of himself tonight.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “The crowd is on their feet, and the atmosphere is electric. Let’s turn it over one last time to Mike Dempsey to make it official.”

[Lovelie’s heart was pounding with a mix of nerves and excitement as he made his way towards the cageside area. The anticipation had been building for months, and now, finally, he was just moments away from stepping into the octagon. As he approached, he could feel the eyes of everyone around him on him, watching his every move. He tried to keep his cool, but his hands were shaking as he started to strip down to his shorts.]

[Once he was down to his BST Fightwear gear, he took a moment to gather himself, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Then, he turned to the official, trying to project an air of confidence and control. As the official began his pat-down, Lovelie couldn’t help but think about all the hard work and sacrifices that had led him to this moment. He’d trained for months, putting in countless hours in the gym, pushing his body to its limits, and now he was here, ready to show the world what he was made of.]

[After the official had finished his inspection and given him the all-clear, Lovelie turned to his cornermen, dapping them each up one last time. These were the men who had supported him throughout his journey, pushing him to be his best and never giving up on him. He knew that he couldn’t have made it this far without them. As he made his way up the steps and into the octagon, he could feel his adrenaline pumping. He jogged a few laps around the perimeter of the cage, trying to get his blood flowing and his muscles warmed up. The crowd was roaring, and Lovelie could feel their energy coursing through him, giving him the strength and courage to face whatever lay ahead.]

[Finally, he settled into his corner, taking a few deep breaths and centering himself. He knew that the fight ahead would be the biggest challenge of his life, but he was ready. He was determined to show the world what he was made of and to come out on top. With a fierce glint in his eye, he waited for the bell to ring, ready to take on whatever came his way.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Micah Perry, Kendal Pearson, and Jamie Black, and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Archie Driscoll. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it is for the Union Grand Prix Middleweight Championship! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of eleven wins, six losses. He stands 6’2”, and weighing in at 185 pounds. He is from Chicago, Illinois, fighting out of Real Killas MMA, presenting the former Union Grand Prix Middleweight Champion and the number one ranked Middleweight Contender in the World, “Ripcord” Travis Decker!”

[Decker is bouncing on the balls of his feet. The crowd is ever growing with excitement, reaching a near fever pitch of pandemonium while he raises both hands high in the air to show his gratitude to the fans in the building tonight.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Shotokan Karate Striker holding a professional mixed martial arts record of ten wins, four losses. He stands 6’ even, and weighing in at 185 pounds. He is from Port-au-Prince, Haiti by way of Flint, Michigan, fighting out of the Hit Squad, presenting the reigning, defending, undisputed Union Grand Prix Middleweight Champion of the World, Lovelie Saint-Cyr!”

[With the crowd at a thunderous level, Saint-Cyr takes a couple steps out from his corner, and gives his opponent the utmost respectful Saikeirei bow, a traditional custom in his discipline before battle, then steps back into his corner.]

[The referee steps to the center of the cage and motions for both fighters to meet. With the announcer standing behind, holding the microphone, referee Archie Driscoll gives one final pep talk.]

ARCHIE DRISCOLL: “Alright fighters, we’ve gone through the rules in the back. Any questions? Okay… I want you to protect yourself at all times, follow my instructions, touch gloves if you wish to and let’s have a good, clean fight.”

[As the tension in the air thickens, the two fighters stand face-to-face, their eyes locked in a fierce gaze. With bated breath, the crowd awaits the momentous start of the match. In a sudden show of sportsmanship, the fighters reach out and touch gloves, but their touch is fleeting, as both quickly retreat to their corners.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “If you bet the prop that these two would touch gloves, now’s the time to cash in those tickets.”

[The referee steps forward, his eyes scanning the octagon for any signs of foul play. With a nod of approval, he proceeds to check in with each fighter, ensuring they are ready for the fight ahead. The fighters’ muscles tense as the referee gives the signal for the start of the match, the sound of the bell ringing out across the arena.]

[The bell rings and both fighters touch gloves in the center of the cage. Decker quickly throws a solid low kick, but Saint-Cyr checks it with ease. These two fighters are showing a lot of respect for each other, but it’s clear that they both came to win. Decker now seems a bit hesitant, almost as if he’s waiting for Saint-Cyr to make the first move. Saint-Cyr is wise to his strategy and blocks a series of leg kicks from Decker. The two fighters circle around the center of the cage, looking for an opening to strike. Decker tries to land a punch, but Saint-Cyr expertly dodges it. Saint-Cyr then jumps back and lands a quick jab while Decker misses with a looping right hand. Saint-Cyr takes a moment to study his opponent, searching for an opening in his defense. You can feel the excitement building in the arena as Decker throws a low kick to maintain his distance, but it’s far from landing. Saint-Cyr blocks the kick with ease and looks to counter.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Caution is the key to start things off. These guys respect each other’s strengths and neither one is willing to take any unnecessary risks at this moment.”

JASON JACKSON: “Just a feeling out process is all. They have to find that range and timing and then things will go up like a powderkeg. The fuse has been lit… now we let it do it’s thing.”

[Decker is in phenomenal shape, having clearly trained hard for this fight. Decker flicks a body kick and is quickly blocked by Saint-Cyr. LSC counters with a hook to the body and Decker stops it with his ribs, but he shakes it off and keeps moving. Saint-Cyr fakes a punch and shows some impressive footwork, moving aside to avoid Decker’s lightning-fast low kick. Decker makes a mistake by forcing a body shot, which Saint-Cyr reads well, dodges it, and then counters with a hard cross. Saint-Cyr continues to bob and weave, showing great movement and avoiding Decker’s attacks. He then throws a bone-shattering straight left hand, but Decker manages to duck under it just in time. Decker’s low kicks aren’t landing as cleanly as he’d like, as Saint-Cyr is smart enough to keep a sharp eye on them and check them as they come. Saint-Cyr tries a hook to the body, hitting Decker’s ribs hard then takes a step back, seemingly cooling down the fight a bit. He fakes another punch and shows off his footwork, moving aside to avoid Decker’s high kick. He quickly capitalizes on Decker’s mistake, launching a bone-shattering straight right hand, but once again, Decker manages to duck under it.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Both of these guys are showcasing some incredible Fight IQ. Both are staying off the centerline and avoiding any significant damage thus far.”

JASON JACKSON: “Very technical striking here. The head movement and footwork of both men is top tier. It’s only a matter of time though before shit pops off.”

[The fighters size each other up in the center of the cage, both looking for an opening to strike. Decker throws another low kick to maintain his distance, but it’s far from landing. This time, Saint-Cyr tries to take advantage by cutting him off with a flurry of punches. Decker reels from the strikes, but manages to move aside and launch a furious low kick. Saint-Cyr checks the kick, showing off his impressive defense skills. The two fighters continue to exchange blows, with counter punches almost hitting Saint-Cyr as he moves away. Saint-Cyr tries to jab at Decker, but it has no visible effect. The ref stops the action, signaling the end of the round. Both fighters return to their corners, knowing that they have a tough fight ahead of them. It’s anyone’s game at this point, and the crowd is eagerly anticipating the next round.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Things are starting to ramp up there right at the end, but overall, a bit of a chess match. No need to rush and force things. Use the twenty-five minutes to your advantage.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah. You know they are going to be getting a bit of motivation to swing in their corners too during the break. The good ol “Let your hands go. He can’t hurt you” lines a plenty. I bet we see them come out with a bit more fire in this second round now that the nerves and feeling out process is over.”

[The second round begins and the fighters are ready to go! Lovelie Saint-Cyr throws a right hand, but unfortunately misses the mark with poor technique. Travis Decker sees an opportunity and looks to counter with a solid low kick, which Saint-Cyr manages to deflect. Decker follows up with another solid kick to the leg, but Saint-Cyr checks it yet again. Saint-Cyr tries an inside leg kick that goes awry, but follows up with a tremendous flurry of strikes that forces Decker to cover up. Decker protects himself from any big shots before he starts firing back that causes them both to engage in a heated exchange of punches! They are both connecting and it seems like the fight could end soon if either of them lands a lucky punch.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And now they’re going blow for blow! Neither one is backing down, this is what we came to see!”

JASON JACKSON: “Here we go. Both landing some pretty significant strikes here..”

[Saint-Cyr eventually takes a step back to study Decker, searching for a hole in his defense and resetting his strategy. He then launches a brilliant combination, but Decker shows off his dodging skills and manages to avoid the blows. Saint-Cyr misses a step, and Decker sees an opportunity to counter with a bone-shattering straight left hand! Saint-Cyr ducks under just in time to avoid the hit. Decker tries firing some low kicks, but they fail to land. He then moves aside and launches a furious low kick, but Lovelie Saint-Cyr checks it with ease. Saint-Cyr tries to land a high kick, but misses badly and slips and falls to the ground!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Oh, Saint-Cyr tried to catch Decker off guard, but now he’s in a very precarious position.”

JASON JACKSON: “He’s gotta get back up, and QUICK.”

[Decker is standing while Saint-Cyr is on his back, but Saint-Cyr quickly gets back on his feet and launches an unorthodox punch to Decker’s torso that hits its mark. Decker moves aside looking for a counter, and then moves forward and launches a low kick that visibly pains Saint-Cyr. The two continue to exchange blows, but Saint-Cyr seems to be measuring Decker with his jab. He fakes a move and then launches a nice uppercut, which Decker blocks with ease. Decker then tries a hook to the body and Saint-Cyr takes it to the ribs! The two fighters continue to trade punches, with Saint-Cyr throwing jabs and Decker countering with crosses. They both land shots, but without much steam behind them. The buzzer sounds, marking the end of the round, and the ref tells the fighters to go to their corner. It was a close round, and it’s still anyone’s fight!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ten minutes in the can and both fighters are starting to hit their stride, finding their pace and unleashing a flurry of blows that’s got the crowd on their feet. Saint-Cyr has been able to nullify Decker’s leg kicks thus far while peppering him with a barrage of punches. Decker’s got to step up his game and set up those kicks better if he wants to turn the tide in his favor.”

JASON JACKSON: “He’s gotta set them up better. Put a 1-2 out there and then tack it off with a kick. Feint a level change or two and hit him with a kick. Just tossing them out there isn’t going to work against a fighter like LSC.”

[The arena was buzzing with excitement as the two fighters stepped into the center of the cage for the start of the third round. Right off the bat, Saint-Cyr showed off his impressive footwork, faking a punch and moving gracefully aside. Saint-Cyr unleashed a bone-shattering left hand that left Decker reeling and clutching his head in pain. Despite the brutal blow, the two fighters showed each other a ton of respect as they circled around the center of the cage, sizing each other up for their next move. Saint-Cyr attempted a solid combination, but Decker dodged most of the punches. Just when it seemed like the fighters were at a stalemate, they engaged in a wild exchange of punches that left the crowd on the edge of their seats. Both fighters were connecting, and it looked like the bout could end at any moment!]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Another firefight unfolding right before our eyes!”

JASON JACKSON: “At any moment one of these punches could be the fight ender. They are going blow for blow and there is zero quit in either of them. They have chins of steel Bodie.”

[Decker attempts several leg kicks during the exchange, but Saint-Cyr expertly blocked them all, which slows the pace back down. Decker vaults a middle kick that Saint-Cyr stuffs and counters with a straight right hand. The fighters continued to circle around the cage, with Saint-Cyr attempting to get inside but repeatedly missing due to Decker’s low kicks. But just when it seemed like Decker had the upper hand, Saint-Cyr launched a flurry of punches that had Decker slipping out of danger.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Saint-Cyr is now trying to dictate the pace with some punches in bunches that’s keeping Decker on his heels.”

JASON JACKSON: “Keep that pressure on. Keep pouring it on. That’s how you sway the judges.”

[As the round comes to a close, both fighters continue to push themselves to their limits, attempting solid combinations and dodging each other’s blows. But in the end, it was Saint-Cyr who landed the final, devastating shot of the round – another bone-shattering straight right hand that left Decker with a small cut on his left cheek and his bell rung.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Strong finish to the round for the champion, Lovelie Saint-Cyr. This fight has been very close so far, LSC does seem to have the edge, but it’s hard to say it with a ton of confidence. As we head into championship rounds, it’s safe to say that one of these fighters is going to have to start taking some risks and create some separation on the scorecards. You don’t want to leave it to the judges in a fight like this.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, I’d give the edge slightly to Saint-Cyr. Just because he’s been the one pressing the action the most. Decker as an outside fighter likes to take his time and counter and I think he needs to get a little pep in his step and press the pace in this next round to get one back in his favor.”

[The energy in the arena was electric as Lovelie Saint-Cyr and Travis Decker head into championship rounds. Saint-Cyr wasted no time in throwing a solid shot to Decker’s body, causing him to visibly flinch. But Decker wasn’t going to let that slide and quickly spun around, unleashing a spinning back kick that landed squarely on Saint-Cyr’s chin. The crowd erupted in excitement as they wondered if it was all over for Saint-Cyr.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “OOOOOOOHHH! Look out! Lovelie Saint-Cyr is hurt! He’s in big trouble now!”

JASON JACKSON: “There’s those vicious kicks that Decker is known for. LSC definitely has to watch out for those! That one nearly ended his night but.. Yep. It ooks like he’s able to shake it off. Wow the tenacity.”

[But the Haitian-born fighter wasn’t done yet. He managed to block Decker’s furious low kick and regained his composure before the two engaged in another wild exchange. Both fighters were connecting, and it seemed like the bout could end at any moment if one of them landed a lucky punch. Decker tried to gain some distance with a low kick, but Saint-Cyr was smart enough to block it. Sensing an opportunity, Saint-Cyr launched a flurry of punches, but Decker slipped out of danger. Decker’s timing just hasn’t been on point, as was evident in his low kicks that Saint-Cyr continued to block with ease. The fight continues with both fighters studying each other in the center of the cage. Decker tries to throw a few jabs, but Saint-Cyr counters with some hard crosses. Saint-Cyr then attempts a takedown, and Decker launches a knee that just misses the target. Saint-Cyr playfully smiles as he circles away, but then rushes right back in. The crowd went wild as Saint-Cyr clinched and pushed Decker against the cage, but Decker was quick to circle out and create some distance.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Saint-Cyr is showing a lot of heart right now, and he’s feeling himself. Despite getting rocked there, he looks fresh, and is even getting a little whimsical with Decker after just narrowly dodging a knee that probably ends this fight.”

JASON JACKSON: “I think that both of them are just having fun out there. They are enjoying this fight, and I know the fans have to be enjoying it too. Hell, I am. That’s for sure.”

[Both fighters continue to trade blows, but Saint-Cyr seems to be getting the better of Decker. He lands a beautiful combination of jabs and crosses that leaves Decker stumbling back. However, Decker is not one to go down without a fight and continues to throw flurries left and right. Saint-Cyr manages to dodge most of them, but Decker does land a few hits, including a right hand that makes Saint-Cyr stumble back on his heels. As the round draws to a close, both fighters continue to exchange blows, with Decker throwing a furious low kick that Saint-Cyr checks once again. The horn sounds, signaling the end of the round, and the ref directs the fighters back to their corners. The excitement in the arena was palpable as the fighters prepared for the fifth and final round.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “If you asked before this fight began if we would see the fifth round, I would be very skeptical, but here we are. Twenty minutes down, with another possible five to go. Saint-Cyr has built a great game plan, taking what Decker is giving him and not playing into Decker’s games. Something seems off with Decker, he’s been very hesitant and not launching those nasty head kicks we have all grown to love. He looks like he’s just letting Saint-Cyr pick him apart. I think it’s time to empty the tank. Leave it all out there.”

JASON JACKSON: “I think he’s just stuck in that counter fighting mindset. He’s hesitant about coming in and getting clipped by a big shot because he’s felt his power now and knows it’s nothing to play with. If he wants that belt though? He’s going to have to pull out all stops in this round because as of right now? This fight is up in the air to me.”

[The final round between Lovelie Saint-Cyr and Travis Decker is underway. It’s clear the toll of this bout on both fighters has been tremendous. Every movement sends waves of throbbing pain throughout their entire bodies, but these warriors only show a calm and intense focus as they touch gloves to start the final frame. Right from the start, Saint-Cyr comes out strong with a low kick that Decker quickly blocks, but it’s clear that Saint-Cyr is looking to send a message. However, Decker wasn’t going to take that lying down and looked to counter with a liver kick, which Saint-Cyr blocked and pushed back. The two fighters size each other up, trying to find an opening to exploit.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “There we go. There’s the aggression. Decker has to sense that he may very well be down on the scorecards. He might need to finish Saint-Cyr if he wants to win.”

JASON JACKSON: “Time to leave it all out there in the cage. That’s what being a champ is all about. If you want it? Take it.”

[Decker surprises Saint-Cyr with a right hand, but then seems hesitant, perhaps waiting for Saint-Cyr to make the first move. He finally lands a stinging low kick, but it was clear that Saint-Cyr was not going to let him have the upper hand for long. Saint-Cyr fakes a move and moves laterally, attempting to get inside Decker’s defense. He throws a flurry of leg kicks, but Decker blocks them all. Whenever Saint-Cyr tries to get inside, Decker misses with a low kick, but then launches a bone-shattering straight left hand that Saint-Cyr manages to deflect. Decker fires off a low kick that is quickly blocked, and Saint-Cyr sees his opportunity to counter. He throws a punch, but it misses wide. The two fighters are going back and forth, each trying to find a weakness in the other’s defenses. As the fight continues, the two exchange wildly, each missing egregiously. Saint-Cyr launches a front kick that Decker manages to block, but it gets Decker’s attention and he tries to retaliate with a high kick, but he misses badly and slips and falls to the ground.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Travis Decker is looking sloppy out there. I don’t know if it was a bad weight cut, an illness, or just father time finally catching up to the 36-year old, but he hasn’t looked himself this entire fight.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, I’m not sure. He definitely doesn’t look like the Decker we are used to seeing. Right now though, I’d bet he’s completely exhausted too and that had to have something to do with that whiff and slip.”

[Saint-Cyr wastes no time and launches a kick to Decker’s thigh while he’s on the ground, but he manages to check that kick and quickly gets back on his feet. The fight continues, with Saint-Cyr and Decker each trying to gain the upper hand. But then, Saint-Cyr slips and falls to the ground, and now Decker sees his chance. He launches a kick to his thigh, but LSC manages to check it and quickly gets back on his feet. The final horn sounds and the round ends with both fighters standing, completely gassed as the crowd goes wild.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well there you have it folks. Five rounds in the books for this Middleweight Title bout. Barring any screwy scoring, I think it’s safe to say that Lovelie Saint-Cyr has earned his first title defense here tonight. He stayed patient all throughout and just sliced and diced Decker when the opportunity was there. Travis Decker, unfortunately, simply looked deflated. That was a tough one to watch for this MMA icon.”

JASON JACKSON: “Yeah, that was definitely an ugly fight for Travis Decker. I’m confident that Saint-Cyr did enough to retain, although I would’ve liked to have seen him finish this fight with as timid and rough as Decker looked. We’ll take it down to the Dempsey for the judges official  ruling though. Take it away Mike.”

[As the final horn sounds, the cheers of the crowd overpower the noise. Both fighters stumble towards their corners, gripping the top of the fence and bending over as they gasp for breath. The doctors, following protocol, approach each corner, but neither fighter appears to be seriously injured. After a brief moment, the doctors leave the cage and the fighters return to the center of the octagon for the official announcement of the decision.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, after five rounds, we go to the judges’ scorecards for a decision. Judge Kendal Pearson scores it 48-47 Saint-Cyr, Judge Jaimie Black scores it 48-47 Decker, and Judge Micah Perry scores it 49-46, declaring your winner by split decision, AAAAAAANNNNNDDDD… STIIIIIIILLL the undisputed Union Grand Prix Middleweight Champion of the World, Lovelie Saint-Cyr!”

[The audience erupts in applause. This time, it is for Saint-Cyr as their hand is lifted in triumph and the title wrapped around his waist. Both competitors share a cordial embrace and express mutual admiration. Afterwards, they separate to join their respective teams, while the commentators review the match and a visual display shows the fight statistics.]

Lovelie Saint-Cyr, sweat still glistening on his brow, stands at the center of the ring, his eyes flickering with a mixture of exhaustion and triumph. BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the reigning Middleweight Champion, Lovelie Saint-Cyr. Lovelie, congratulations on your impressive victory tonight and your first title defense. How are you feeling after going another twenty-five minutes with a former World Champion?”

LOVELIE SAINT-CYR: “Thank you, Bodie. I’m hurtin’ a bit but I’m feeling great. It was a tough fight, but I’m glad I came out on top. Much love and respect to Travis Decker. The man is a legend, it was an incredible honor to share the octagon with him.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “It definitely was a close fight, and your opponent gave you quite the challenge. How confident were you in yourself that you had done enough to earn the win?”

LOVELIE SAINT-CYR: “Listen, I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say I was nervous. I’ve been training for months for this fight, Bodie. My team and I studied his style, his tendencies and worked on my weaknesses. I knew it was going to be a tough fight and I had to watch for the kicks and not get too emotional and throw my gameplan out the window.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “You certainly showed that you were ready for anything in the cage tonight. Can you walk us through your strategy for the fight?”

LOVELIE SAINT-CYR: “I wanted to control the distance of the fight and wear him down with my strikes. I knew I had to be patient and wait for the right opportunities to present themselves and not put myself in bad positions. I wasn’t trying to get posterized by one of the lethal kicks!”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “You executed that strategy courageously tonight. And now that you’ve successfully defended your title, what’s next for Lovelie Saint-Cyr?”

LOVELIE SAINT-CYR: “I’m open to any challengers, Bodie. I want to continue to defend my title and prove that I’m the best Middleweight in the world. But for now, I’m going to enjoy this victory and spend some time with my family and friends.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, you certainly deserve to celebrate after that impressive performance. Congratulations again, Lovelie, it’s always an honor to call your fights. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the Middleweight Champion, Lovelie Saint-Cyr!”

[With a nod of mutual respect, the two shook hands before Bodie swiftly exited the octagon. Meanwhile, Saint-Cyr and his teammates were fired up.
