“BIG FOUR” PARTNERSHIP SET TO LAUNCH
In a major move set to reshape the landscape of global MMA development, Union Grand Prix has officially announced strategic partnerships with four mid-major promotions to form a unified global network of regional organizations aimed at growing the next generation of talent.
The new initiative, dubbed the “Big Four” partnership, brings together Union GP’s developmental arm Everest MMA, the Japanese promotion Ryūjin FC, and two newly partnered organizations EFC (Euro Fight Circuit) and CLA (Campeonato de Lucha Azteca). Together, these four promotions will operate under a cooperative framework that focuses on fighter development, talent scouting, cross-promotional opportunities, and streamlined pathways to compete under the Union GP banner.
“This is about building bridges across continents,” said Union GP President Dante Reed. “We want to make sure that the best young fighters in the world, no matter where they’re from, have the opportunity to be seen, to be tested, and to rise. This partnership ensures they’ll have a clear road to the big stage.”
Under this partnership, Everest MMA will resume its role as Union GP’s North American feeder league, focused on developing stateside talent and returning veterans. Ryūjin FC, now operating under a refreshed brand identity, will serve as the primary destination for Asian prospects and international fighters looking to break into the Japanese market. EFC will spotlight high level competition across Europe’s vast regional circuit, while CLA will shine a light on Latin America’s deep talent pool and rich martial arts traditions.
Fighters under any of the Big Four banners will now be eligible for exclusive scouting showcases, developmental contracts, and short notice call-ups to Union GP events. Additionally, shared production standards, unified rulesets, and co-branded events are expected to further elevate the visibility and credibility of each promotion.
“This is the next step in globalizing our sport in a meaningful way,” Reed added. “We’re not just expanding our reach, we’re investing in the foundation of MMA’s future.”
Union GP has not ruled out further expansion of the Big Four concept in the coming years, with sources indicating that talks are ongoing with additional regional promotions in Africa and Oceania.
