ONE ON ONE FT. MASON LAMBERT

[Madrid, Spain. The country’s development into a brand of luxury and history is commendable but to sponsor the hosting of UGP 71: JIMENEZ vs. MARSHALL means a lot to the world. The mixed martial arts scene provided by UGP has expanded to walks of life across the globe. Of course, fighting is an ancient art but none has proven to be such as a host of mixed martial arts more than the Union Grand Prix themselves. For the scheduled one-on-one interview, the night life of Madrid was introduced to a famous bar for its setting, designs and atmosphere, Alchemist 1967. Kayla Chapman sits in the lounge familiar with the setting especially when it involves one of the most prominent characters in the middleweight division.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining me today for another one-on-one issue. Today, I’m here with a middleweight fighter who has garnered the attention of the UGP fans. He’s currently the number seven ranked middleweight contender opening the main card of UGP 71, Mason “Homegrown” Lambert.”

[On cue, the camera zooms out and shows Mason sitting on a lounge couch downing a beer wearing a black shirt, baggy black jeans and boots. The only thing of luxury is the Rolex watch he has on but he looks ready to just party and gives a sly smile to Kayla.]

MASON LAMBERT: “Always down for a good drink, Kayla. You sure know how to pick good places.”

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “You recently suffered a loss against Alexander Sokolov but you’ve gained a lot of respect. It was three rounds against the former middleweight champion and even though it was by unanimous decision, you stood tall and strong. Have you learned anything after that fight?”

[Mason rolls his eyes after being asked about his first loss in the Union Grand Prix. He takes another sip of his drink.]

MASON LAMBERT: “Alex is a tough motherf**ker! He’s strong and fast. We went to war and it should have been fight of the night in my opinion but that little son of a bitch is tough as nails. At the end of the day, he won and I got back in the gym to just be more aggressive. Sometimes in the fight you have to push the pace and that’s what he did.”

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Well, you’re opening the main card of UGP 71 against Reggie James. He’s one of the best grapplers in the middleweight division and many consider this to be the standard striker versus grappler matchup. What is your gameplan coming into this fight?”

MASON LAMBERT: “It’s pretty obvious. I’m going in there to knock him out. Reggie can’t stand with me on his feet and he’s going to play touch butt with me all day. Luckily I got coaches who have helped me with my takedown defense and ground game. If Reggie even attempts to grapple, he’ll suffer for it. I’ll make him pee his own s**t in the cage.”

[The blunt response from Mason was his signature trait from his characterization. Kayla nodded and smiled to continue the interview.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “You’ve been training in the Holmes MMA and Wrestling Academy for quite some time. It’s been getting its name out there in the mixed martial arts world now it’s producing champions and contenders such as yourself. How has been the experience being a part of a new training camp that’s grown in popularity?”

MASON LAMBERT: “We got a lot of great coaches and fighters. I’ve made some good friends and training partners. My buddy Robin is now getting a welterweight champion, Jordan moving up to his class and we have another fighter joining the lightweight division soon. Verona is going to retain the belt and that little spitball Serenity is coming into her own. What else can there be said? I think we have the best training camp in the Union Grand Prix to be honest.”

[Another round of beers was delivered by the waitress. Mason took one for himself and looked at Kayla in the sense of asking if she’s going to take one. She shook her head and asked the final question.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Well Mason, I appreciate your time with us. I wonder what is to be said about your goals in the middleweight division. You said you wanted to become middleweight champion and how are you working towards that?”

MASON LAMBERT: “Kayla. The one thing you need to understand is that when it comes to whatever I do, I don’t stop until I get it done. A simple setback won’t stop me from moving forward.”

[He downs the beer and leans back on the couch.]

MASON LAMBERT: “That’s why this fight is so important. I need to beat Reggie James and show that I’m not going to be one of these one hit wonders in UGP. I’m here to fight and the middleweight division is booming right now. We have proof that this the best promotion in mixed martial arts and the highest combat scene. I want to make history and add my name to that list.”

[Mason raises a beer to that and yells for the rest of the patrons to join him. Kayla appreciates the honesty and the less vulgarity in his language but now it’s almost time to end the interview. She looks into the camera and ends with the following language.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Thank you Mason Lambert and good luck in your upcoming fight against Reggie James to open UGP 71: JIMENEZ vs. MARSHALL! Be sure to check out the action this Sunday and this is a fight you do not want to miss as the UGP Featherweight Championship, the UGP Middleweight Championship are also on the line!”

[The interview fades out after the camera shows the skyline view of Madrid at night to the promotional package of UGP 71: JIMENEZ vs. MARSHALL!]
