ONE ON ONE FT. ROBIN KELSON
[The Level 43 Sky Lounge. A beautiful monarch of authentic taste, exquisite design and a beautiful view of the city. The moon beams down on the night of the people enjoying their social groups, pushing through the times of loving each other and enjoying what the night offers. However, there’s more to the occasion. UGP 73 is around the corner, and production has secured a separate spot with a linear view of the city to the point Kayla Chapman is sitting comfortably on a lounge chair. When she gets the cue to begin, she smiles into the camera and speaks with a professional tone.]
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for tuning into another edition of One-on-One. I am Kayla Chapman and my special guest tonight is one of the most beloved personalities in UGP. He is the former UGP Welterweight Title Challenger, and the number three-ranked welterweight fighter, Robin “The Sweetheart” Kelson!”
[Robin skips into the frame of the camera. He sits down on the opposing chair, crosses his legs and does a Queen’s wave to the camera. Kayla chuckles but the positive energy from Robin creates an uplifting environment.]
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Robin. Thank you for joining us. One of the things I have to ask is in regards to UGP 72. It was the main event against Byron McCall for the Welterweight Championship and after five rounds, it was a split decision that went in Byron’s favor. However, many have said you should have won so what are your thoughts?”
[Robin sighs and shrugs his shoulders.]
ROBIN KELSON: “Yeah, it’s been sent to me a lot. Look, at the end of the day, Byron won and he’s the welterweight champion. However, for my first main event, I think I sent a message that I’m here to stay in the welterweight division. Byron’s a fighter, a great striker and it was a classic striker versus grappler. I’ve learned a lot from that fight and it’s motivated me ever since. I’ve been busting my ass in the gym, developing my striking and strengthening my wrestling. So coming back I’ll show everyone that I’m not stopping. I need to win this so I can get a second title shot and complete the job this time. No judges, just a championship finish.”
[He was showing maturity in that response. Due to the past, he had expressed protest regarding the judges decision but now he’s using that to push him. Kayla saw it in his eyes he meant every word. The show continued with another round of questions.]
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “And speaking of motivation, you’re going against Jack Donovan, the number five-ranked welterweight on a two-fight win streak. Jack poses the same threat of one of the best strikers in the division. How was your training camp?”
ROBIN KELSON: “We have one of the best camps in the world. The Holmes MMA and Wrestling Academy was named 2025 Gym of the Year. That’s only a testament to the work we put in. Despite that, we really push ourselves and this camp to the fight has been nothing less than excellent Kayla. I’ve been developing my striking as I said but I’m going to be mauling him down always. The people pay to see a show and that’s exactly what I’ll give him.”
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “So you’re not worri-”
[Robin jumps up like he’s discovered fire.]
ROBIN KELSON: “Hell no! I was there for his fight against Connor Bouchard. He did everything correctly with his striking and takedown defense but I’m not Connor. I can strike, wrestle and push him at a pace he has to keep up with me. That’s what I do best. When the lights are on and people are invested, I go all out. There won’t be any time to breathe or show any resiliency. I’ll make the fight my way and that’s all she’ll write. Performance of the night incoming bay bay!”
[The outburst made a few others look but Robin started dancing to which Kayla couldn’t contain her laughter. Once he sat down, she asked him another question.]
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “We love the energy you’re bringing. So, this one is personal, you and Verona Jimenez are official. How did that happen?”
ROBIN KELSON: “Naturally. Verona’s an amazing woman and I’m a goofball. We’ve trained together and over time, we just got stuck to each other like glue. So, yeah, just another day in paradise and couldn’t have asked for a better girlfriend. Besides, she’s a badass and so am I.”
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Well, we thank you again Robin. You’ve always been someone who brings the energy and we wish you good luck.”
[Robin stands up and shakes her hand before walking over to the bar. A voice can be heard off camera which is his.]
ROBIN KELSON: “OH SHIT! THEY GOT PAC MAN!”
KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Alright ladies and gentlemen, tune into UGP 73: MARSHALL vs. DRAGICEVIC to see the UGP Featherweight Championship on the line in the main event! In the co-main event, Alexander Sokolov defends the UGP Middleweight Championship against Sasha Volkov and the featured undercard is the brewing rivalry coming to a head between Serenity Holmes and C.C. Flynn!”
ROBIN KELSON: “HEY KAYLA! COME CHECK THIS OUT!”
[Kayla shakes her head at his playful attitude and gets up to join him moving out of the camera frame. The video transitions over to the view of Dubai then a promotional package of UGP 73 plays.]
