LARS LEVY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
SALT LAKE CITY — After launching his professional MMA career at the age of 35 with an Armbar submission victory over Jeremiah Ford at Boss Fight XVIII, Middleweight Contender Lars Levy has called it a career two years later.
“MK Ultra” was always an interesting prospect from the Red Rock Fighting camp that brought a respected BJJ skill set to the table that not many 185-ers had to game plan against prior to his debut. Levy started his pro career with an impressive 3-0 record, securing two wins by submission and one by unanimous decision. But after that, his level of competition rose to a new level and lost three straight to former Champions and Title Challengers Nigel Musgrove, Asher Jrue, and Aries Reed.
Given his age and the shortcomings at the elite level, it seemed like Levy would be stuck at that second tier, gatekeeper-type status. The pursuit into MMA wasn’t money-driven, so it seems like he is content now that he’s found out where he stands among the best in the world. One interesting thing to note, Levy had recently completed his training to become a licensed MMA official, and sources have stated that Levy has been in contact with Dante Reed and Perry Wallace about making the transition on the Union stage.
So it sounds like we will continue to see the Punk Rocker turned Prizefighter on the MMA scene in the future, but it just might be on the other side of the fight game. Whatever Lars Levy ultimately decides, we wish him nothing but the best.
