UGP 51: LATTIMORE vs VOLKOV II

ROUND ONE: Franny Garza steps into the octagon against the debuting Emma Hunt and the Vegas crowd roars with support for Garza, a fan favorite here as a Throne MMA prospect. The referee signals the start, and it’s like a shot from a cannon! Garza and Hunt, both fiercely determined, meet in the center. Garza showcases her quick, high-volume boxing, landing a barrage of punches, while Hunt opts for the singular, thunderous power shots. They’re trading blow for blow, and it quickly gets the crowd’s attention! Hunt attempts to take it to the ground, but Garza’s takedown defense is rock solid. She sprawls back with ease, keeping this bout upright. Garza starts to take control, landing punches in a relentless flurry, and she even slices Hunt over the eyebrow. Garza’s in her element now, driving Hunt back into a corner. Hunt is eating a storm of uncontested shots, and the referee is watching closely. In the dying seconds of the round, it’s over! Garza overwhelms Hunt, and the referee steps in to stop the contest! It’s a first round stoppage for Franny Garza! The Vegas crowd erupts with cheers as Garza, making a quick turnaround after her last bout at UGP 50 saw her come up short in a split decision, gets the victory she was hungry for. As for Emma Hunt, she may be new to the Union GP scene, but she’s left her mark with an action-packed debut.

ROUND ONE: The crowd at the sold out T-Mobile Arena was buzzing for the impending Middleweight tilt. Deebo Briggs, the wily veteran, looked like a coiled spring, his muscles rippling with intensity. On the opposite side of the octagon, the brash up-and-comer Tyler Cage sported a confident grin, clearly unfazed by the hostile atmosphere. Briggs, known for his boxing, wasted no time, his fists firing like pistons. Cage, though, leaned on his wrestling prowess, aiming to take the fight to the mat. The tension in the air was palpable as Briggs smoothly sprawled back on Cage’s takedown attempts, showcasing his exceptional defense. Briggs’s aggression was unrelenting, his punches sharp and precise, each one laced with bad intentions. Cage, however, showed resilience, absorbing the blows while taunting Briggs with his showmanship. The crowd roared in approval, torn between the seasoned warrior and the cocky prospect. As the round neared its end, Briggs unleashed a masterful combination. Left hook, right straight, left overhand — the arena trembled with every hit. And then, with perfect timing, Briggs delivered a devastating uppercut that sent Cage into a state of suspended animation. Time seemed to slow as Cage’s eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the canvas, unconscious. The referee rushed in, waving off the fight, and the crowd exploded into cheers. Deebo Briggs, the wily veteran, had made a powerful statement and sent a clear message to Tyler Cage: respect in the cage had to be earned.

ROUND ONE: Teammates and training partners set their friendship aside as they touch gloves. Normally a quick starter, Parsons comes out surprisingly cautious early on, keeping Victoria at range with her jab but otherwise not committing to too many attacks. She snaps off a couple inside leg kicks that sting Marshall’s inner thigh, but nearly eats a big looping overhand right from Marshall in the process. Parsons finally commits with a quick one-two combo, punctuated by a quick uppercut that grazes Victoria’s chin, but the Seattle native shakes it off and circles away. Parsons re-engages, and Victoria feigns a takedown attempt–only to eat a BIG kick to the head that clearly wobbles her! Rachel lands a couple big punches in the follow up, but Victoria regains her wits enough to dive for a double leg takedown; she doesn’t get it right away, but she does manage to control Rachel’s legs and pin her up against the cage. Victoria struggles to just brute-force her way through the takedown, but while Rachel’s takedown defense has never been her strongest point, she’s able to fight that off for a while–until, eventually, Marshall’s able to twist her to the mat, although she only gets as far as closed guard. Victoria takes a moment to regain her wits, landing a few little punches just to maintain some activity–body, body, head, as the old ground and pound saying goes. The ref warns about standing them up, but, surprisingly, lets the fight play out for now; Rachel starts to squirm free, but in her movement, Victoria finds an opening to slip a leg free and move to half-guard–where she postures up and starts to THROW. Some of her big shots miss, but a couple powerful elbows and punches land, one of which opens a cut on Rachel’s forehead. Knowing she’s in trouble, Rachel gets a little more frantic to get back to her feet, recovering at least part of her guard and using it to literally just kick Victoria away; she scrambles back to her feet, but it’s in time with the clapper, and not much else happens in the remaining ten seconds.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Marshall
ROUND TWO: During the break, Parsons’ corner gets the cut sealed up, but the ringside doctor still takes a moment to ensure she’s good to go; once he’s satisfied, the second round begins with a touch of gloves again. Victoria’s on the aggressive to open the round, but she’s throwing big shots trying to land one powerful blow, and gets picked apart with jabs and quick front kicks early on by Parsons, who’s easily the more experienced striker. Rachel’s confidence clearly grows as she starts to launch more and more kicks, first to the legs that get checked, but then one slams into Victoria’s body that causes a momentary wince. Rachel follows it all up with a big head kick, but Victoria deflects it and trips her to the mat! Rachel knows she doesn’t want to be underneath Victoria at this point, and scrambles to try to get back to her feet, but Victoria just uses the scramble to pass to half-guard before raining down big, heavy punches from the top! The ref steps in to keep an eye on things, and that forces Rachel to try to escape–but she’s not as controlled on the mat as Victoria is, and her scramble just gives Marshall the chance to move into mount! High up on Rachel’s chest, Victoria slams down a pair of elbows that split Rachel’s forehead open again; she covers up and tries to roll, but ends up just giving up her back, and Victoria’s quick to attempt a Rear Naked Choke before Rachel can get her defense up! It’s not quite under the neck, though, and Rachel manages to fight off the choke–but she can’t seem to find a way out of the position. Victoria switches to a body triangle, and rides the round out on Rachel’s back, landing a few big punches but not doing much more damage.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Marshall (20-18 Marshall)
ROUND THREE: Again, before the round begins, the doctor checks the cut on Rachel’s face–he’s not as satisfied this time, as the cut is still bleeding, but it’s not in her eyes, so the fight’s allowed to continue. A touch of gloves begins the round, and this time, Rachel comes out aggressive–but her usual, disciplined striking has given way to throwing heavy shots, aiming to take Victoria out of her comfort zone. A couple of big power shots land and force Marshall back early, but when Rachel comes in looking to pin Victoria to the cage, Marshall counters with a massive overhand right that slams into Parsons’ temple! Her legs wobble, and she eats a couple straight shots before Marshall nearly drops her with an uppercut, but Rachel circles away and recovers her wits. The two trade quick jabs, but Rachel seems to believe she needs a knockout, and she launches a massive head kick–with no set up, and Victoria deflects the kick and uses the leverage to take Rachel down again! Rachel manages to overpower Victoria this time, and turns her over, landing a few good shots from the top herself–but she leaves her arm exposed, and Victoria latches onto it, securing an armbar and ultimately forcing Parsons to submit!

The stream fades in from darkness as the roar of the crowd grows louder. The camera starts with a cinematic aerial view of the T-Mobile Arena exterior, bathed in a dazzling array of lights. Suddenly, a high-tech drone camera swoops into view, zipping through the night sky with precision and speed. The crowd below can be seen, eagerly waiting to witness the epic showdown about to unfold.
As the drone camera continues its aerial journey, it dives down toward the entrance of the arena. Here, the stage setting is nothing short of spectacular. The main stage entrance is adorned with towering screens displaying incredible fighter highlights. Pyrotechnics are primed, ready to unleash fiery explosions, and a cascade of dazzling lights dance in rhythm with the heart-pounding music.
The drone continues its flight, capturing the electrifying energy of the crowd below. The fans, dressed in a sea of colors, wave flags and banners, their excitement reaching a fever pitch. The drone camera hovers for a moment, capturing the anticipation, before the arena erupts with pyrotechnics and dazzling lights one final time, setting the tone for the thrilling event about to begin. As the grand finale wraps up, the stream pops up the poster for tonight’s card.

The drone camera, with a graceful turn, moves toward the cageside area, where the MMA commentary team awaits their cue. The camera smoothly pans in to reveal the dynamic duo, Bodie Sullivan and the legendary Hall of Famer, Byron McCall, standing at their commentary booth.
Bodie and Byron exchange knowing nods, their excitement evident as they prepare to provide their insightful commentary on the wars about to be waged.

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the illustrious T-Mobile Arena in Sin City Las Vegas, Nevada, and the octagon is officially open for business for UGP 51: LATTIMORE versus VOLKOV TWO! Hello everyone and thank you for tuning in for this monumental event! I am Bodie Sullivan and of course joining me is the Hall of Fame Legend who is quickly becoming the voice of all combat sports, “The Last Call” Byron McCall! Thank you all for tuning in for this exciting night of fights!”
BYRON McCALL: “It’s already been a wild night, Bodie! As per usual, the prelims delivered some exciting action that will set the bar for the main card. We saw two first round finishes coming from Franny Garza and Deebo Briggs, putting a stamp on their flawless performances. In the featured prelims, we saw Twin Cities MMA teammates and former Everest MMA Champions Rachel Parsons and Victoria Marshall go through hell and back, where the underdog Marshall pulled off a late third round submission stoppage with an armbar to put her back in the win column after her fight with former Bantamweight Champion Dallas Meechan ended in a majority draw.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “All of that is just the tip of the iceberg, B-Mac! We are now staring down at a five fight Main Card, with two tremendous title fights to cap it all off! First up, in our opener, we have the former Heavyweight Champion Kennard Rozier looking to get back to his winning ways against a former Title Challenger in Billy Tweeds.”
BYRON McCALL: “You know, Bodie, we often like to describe the contenders in this division as behemoths, but it’s straight facts. Rozier and Tweeds are two massive guys who possess a lot of power behind their punches. As you mentioned, Kennard Rozier is looking to get back on track after losing a tough bout with Gauge Lattimore and his fight with Roscoe Robinson ending in a very disappointing No Contest. He’s got his work cut out for him though. Billy Tweeds is carrying some momentum after his loss to Gauge Lattimore, winning his last two fights by knockout in the first round by a COMBINED time of two minutes and thirty-five seconds. Whatever the prop bet line is for this fight going one and a half rounds, I think you take the under!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Yeah no question about it, that’s a fight you’re not gonna want to look away from. One blink and you might miss it! From there we head into a Lightweight Bout featuring two fighters who have been on a bit of a rocky road this year but are still very much in the hunt for title contention. Maddox Moon takes on Abbie Peterson in a top ranked fight at 155-pounds.”
BYRON McCALL: “This fight has two different tales, depending on the perspective. Looking at Moon, we really don’t know what we have out of him. Yes, we know he has crazy good jiu-jitsu, and given the opportunity, he’s going to do bad things to your limbs. However, his level of opponent hasn’t outright proven that he belongs inside the top five yet. On one hand, he’s got losses to Alistair McKay and Sadie Williams, and on the other hand, he’s got wins over Regis Pierre Paul and Benji Meyers. Those wins could look good on the resume in the future, but right now we don’t really know for certain. This is a litmus test for Moon, let’s see what he can do with a little bit of experience at this level now against a crafty veteran who has been at the top of the game for a long time.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “And when you look at Peterson’s perspective, this is a fight that, given a win, can plug the leak to a sinking ship. She has gone 1-3 for the year and needs to rebound now in order to stay relevant in these big stakes fights. We can sing her praises all day about taking these tough fights against 2Face Rodríguez, Alistair McKay, and Paige Holloway, but if she’s getting beat time after time, you start to wonder if she still has it in her to make a legitimate run at the title again.”
BYRON McCALL: “It’s going to be interesting to see who can get their offense going and dictate the fight in this clash of styles fight. But speaking of running at the title, our next fight has two guys chomping at the bit, yeah?”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Absolutely! Our featured undercard bout is a scheduled Middleweight Bout between Reggie James and Kian De Beer. Currently sitting at #2 and #3 in the rankings, respectively, this could be a title eliminator bout. Whoever walks away from this could be looking at a title fight in their next outing.”
BYRON McCALL: “There are a lot of deserving contenders at the top of this division right now, which I’m sure makes the current Champion Derrius Webb very happy to hear. You got José Meléndez currently sitting at #1, but then Reggie James and Kian De Beer are right there behind him. Could these guys have just sat and waited for their turn at the title? Sure. But these guys are a different breed. They want to stay active and they want to jump the line, no matter how close they are to the front. Similar to our Lightweight Bout before, this is going to be a fun clash of styles between world class grappler versus world beater striker. I can’t wait for this one!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “And then, we finally move into the Championship block of the card, starting with our Co-Main Event. Paige Holloway reclaimed the Lightweight Title against 2Face Rodríguez at UGP 49 in Toronto, and will look to make her first title defense in her second reign as champion against a fellow Canadian and former Everest MMA Featherweight Champion Sadie Williams.”
BYRON McCALL: “There’s a lot at stake in this one. Not just the title itself, but Holloway is looking to build onto her already Hall of Fame worthy career with a lengthy reign as 155-pound Champion. She wants to prove that she can not only hang around with this new wave of talent, but conquer them. With a win tonight, she can enter that lofty and very exclusive 30-win club, but she’s got an opponent who is feisty and very game to go to war. Sadie Williams is looking to join a club of her own as one of the very few Everest graduates to capture Union gold. Can she join the likes of Derrius Webb, Lovelies Saint-Cyr, Gianna Howard, and CC Flynn? We’ll find out later tonight if she’s brought her A-game to Sin City!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Aaaand finally for our Main Event, it’s a highly anticipated rematch that first took place in the finals of the 2022 Heavyweight Grand Prix for the Interim Heavyweight Championship, it’s the undisputed Champion Gauge Lattimore taking on the challenger, Viktor Volkov. Their first outing was a wild one, B-Mac. Volokv got the early jump on Lattimore, dropping him with a thunderous shot in the early stages of the first round, but Lattimore showed his championship mettle and rallied back to earn a second round stoppage. That win earned Lattimore the ticket to face Owen Barnes, and we all know how things went from there. What can we expect to see differently from these two in this second go-round?”
BYRON McCALL: “Honestly, I don’t think we’re gonna see too much deviation from what has gotten them to this point. Gauge Lattimore is a guy who has weaponized cardio, and Viktor Volkov can drop you like a bad habit in a heartbeat with a shotgun blast with his right hand. This time, they come with a lot of knowledge through experience. Lattimore knows the power Volkov possesses, and Volkov knows the pace Lattimore can put on you. We might see a little more strategic approach from these guys, but I wouldn’t expect to see either one going for a flying armbar or even a wheel kick. We’re gonna be in for an old-fashioned knuckle-up brawl!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “We’ll be here every step of the way, breaking down the action and providing you with the best analysis in the business, folks. So with that, let’s toss it over to our very own hype man himself, the mouthpiece of MMA, Mike Dempsey, who’s on stand by awaiting his cue. Ladies and gentlemen, IT’S BOUT TIME!”

ROUND ONE: The atmosphere inside the T-Mobile Arena is electric as the fighters make their way to the center of the octagon to officially kick off the main card. Rozier immediately starts unleashing powerful leg kicks, targeting Tweeds’ lead leg. Tweeds tries to close the distance, looking for the takedown. He ducks under a Rozier right hook but can’t secure the takedown. Rozier capitalizes on the separation, launching a barrage of hooks and kicks. Tweeds counters with a stiff jab that snaps Rozier’s head back. The crowd roars as both fighters exchange in the center, their heavy hands finding their mark. Tweeds attempts a single leg takedown but Rozier showcases solid takedown defense, sprawling and keeping the fight standing. The round ends with both fighters trading heavy leather in a thrilling back-and-forth affair.
ROUND TWO: The second round begins with a lot of excitement and tension. Rozier opens with a spectacular spinning wheel kick, but Tweeds blocks it and counters with a right cross that grazes Rozier’s chin. These heavyweights are putting on a striking clinic and the crowd is eating it up. Rozier continues to target Tweeds’ lead leg, noticeably slowing him down. Then, a perfectly timed knee to the body crumples Tweeds. He stumbles backward, and Rozier pounces on the opportunity, landing a brutal uppercut followed by a vicious right hook. Tweeds is on wobbly legs, and Rozier smells blood. He unleashes a relentless barrage of strikes, mixing hooks, uppercuts, and head kicks. Tweeds is taking an incredible amount of punishment, trying to survive. The referee keeps a close eye on the action, barking out orders to fight back. With a final crushing right hook, Rozier sends Tweeds sprawling to the canvas. The crowd erupts as the referee steps in to stop the fight, giving the former Heavyweight King the TKO victory.

ROUND ONE: Maddox Moon, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu virtuoso, faces off against the former Lightweight Title Challenger Abbie Peterson to the sound of a roaring crowd. Abbie wasted no time, unleashing a barrage of powerful leg kicks, jabs, and hooks, keeping Maddox at bay. Her striking was mesmerizing, and she moved with fluidity and precision, tagging Maddox repeatedly. His attempts to close the distance and initiate his grappling were thwarted by Abbie’s quick footwork and well-timed clinches. Maddox tried to clinch and take the fight to the ground, but Abbie’s strong defense kept her standing. She continued to pick Maddox apart with her striking, and by the end of the round, Maddox wore the marks of her dominance with several nicks and cuts across his face.
ROUND TWO: As the second round began, Maddox knew he had to adapt. He started cautiously, aware of Abbie’s striking prowess, but midway through the round, Maddox found an opening. With a swift takedown, he put Abbie on her back. Abbie defended with all her might, but Maddox’s BJJ skills were world-class. He transitioned effortlessly through positions, seeking an opening for a submission. Abbie fought valiantly, but the crowd gasped as Maddox trapped her in an armbar, extending her arm to the limit. Abbie grimaced in pain but managed to escape, and the round ended with Maddox finally showing signs of life.
ROUND THREE: Entering the final round, Abbie’s striking returned to form. She danced on her toes, delivering a relentless combination of punches and kicks. Maddox, despite showing heart, couldn’t avoid Abbie’s onslaught. With a high kick, Abbie connected, and Maddox’s nose began to bleed. However, Abbie made a critical mistake, leaving herself open for a takedown after a wild haymaker. Maddox seized the opportunity and brought her to the mat once more. This time, he jumped on her back and locked in a rear naked choke. Abbie struggled to breathe as Maddox applied relentless pressure, squeezing tighter with each passing second. With the crowd roaring, Abbie had no choice but to tap out. Maddox Moon executed a thrilling comeback, securing a remarkable submission victory in the final moments of the third round.

ROUND ONE: The crowd buzzed with anticipation as Reggie James and Kian De Beer squared off in the center of the octagon for the featured undercard bout. James, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling guru, and De Beer, the explosive kickboxer, circled one another cautiously. A feeling-out process that hinted at the chess match about to unfold. James probed with low kicks, testing De Beer’s reactions. De Beer, swift and nimble, utilized his reach advantage, snapping a jab and a leg kick in succession. Both fighters were keenly aware of the danger that lurked. De Beer tried to lure James into striking exchanges, but the grappler remained disciplined, looking for openings to close the distance. The round was a tense standoff, with neither fighter willing to commit to a risky move. The horn sounded, ending a first round that could’ve belonged to either man.
ROUND TWO: The second round begins with De Beer coming to life, his kickboxing prowess shining through. He found his rhythm, sticking a crisp jab into James’ face, while heavy hooks crashed into James’ body. The kickboxer’s timing was impeccable, and he sprawled well to deny James’ takedown attempts. However, James wasn’t to be denied for long. He managed to secure a couple of takedowns, but De Beer showcased his raw power, muscling his way back to his feet each time. De Beer’s striking controlled the majority of the round, and a particularly punishing body kick left James gasping for air. Yet, the ground exchanges began to wear down De Beer. James used his grappling skills to slow the pace, making every moment count. It was a decisive round for De Beer, but the price was evident in his heavy breathing as he returned to his corner.
ROUND THREE: The final round unfolded under the glaring arena lights, and De Beer was a portrait of exhaustion. He still peppered James with strikes, but they lacked their earlier sting. James, seizing the moment, shot in for a takedown, driving De Beer to the canvas. The crowd roared as James found himself in top position. With desperation setting in, De Beer lunged for a Hail Mary guillotine choke. It was a high-stakes gamble, and James knew he needed an escape. Gasping for air, he wriggled and strained, finally prying himself free from De Beer’s clutches. Now, with the clock ticking away, James methodically worked his way into a dominant position – full mount. The crowd could feel the momentum shifting. James locked in an arm triangle, and the pressure was immense. De Beer fought valiantly but could do nothing as the seconds ticked away. Every second felt like a lifetime, and eventually De Beer tapped, causing the crowd to erupt into emphatic cheers. Reggie James had pulled off a thrilling late submission win, capitalizing on a fatigued De Beer.

WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE, THERE’S NO TURNING BACK
EVEN WHILE WE SLEEP, WE WILL FIND YOU
ACTING ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR
TURN YOUR BACK ON MOTHER NATURE
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
♫
The lights in the arena cut out for a moment, before the heavy drum beat that opens Lorde’s cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World;” a spotlight shines on the entrance ramp, as with each drum beat, a member of Sadie Williams’ cornermen step out ahead of her. When the first round of the chorus hits and the song really picks up, Sadie herself walks out, draped in the Canadian flag. Despite the pace of the song, Sadie’s clearly moving to her own beat, quicker than the song but far from a hurry down the aisle. She takes her time to slap hands with any fans that are interested, even stopping along the way to have just a moment with a younger fan.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “And now it’s time for the Co-Main Event, ladies and gentlemen. Making her way to the octagon first is the soaring SZN 3 Everest MMA Featherweight Champion, Sadie Williams! As you can see, she’s taking her time to soak in this moment, which is without question her biggest challenge but also her biggest opportunity. Williams has won seven of her last eight fights, with one draw that she later avenged to win the SZN 3 crown. Since being promoted to Union GP in 2023, she has gone a perfect 4-0, with her last two outings ending by a first round submission finish.”
BYRON McCALL: “And most notably, in her last fight, she broke the record for fastest submission finish in Union GP history, which obviously got the matchmakers’ attention to book this fight. That’s what Sadie Williams brings to the table, a high level threat for a submission from bell-to-bell. You cannot let your guard down for one second, or she will strike like a serpent, like her moniker suggests, and twist you and contort you to the point of potential injury or unconsciousness. With that said, she’s never faced an opponent with as much experience as Paige Holloway. She’s going to be put to the test tonight, and the probabilities of walking out as Lightweight Champion rely heavily on how she responds to the adversity.”
As she approaches cageside, she stops and takes a long breath, as if she were settling herself ahead of the biggest opportunity of her career; her eyes shut, her arms raise over her head, and then she relaxes and drops everything. She sheds the flag off her shoulders, passing it to one cornerman; the short and track pants, passed off to another; finally, her warm up t-shirt gets passed off, and each member of her corner gets a quick embrace from the challenger, before she moves to the inspection spot. While Sadie’s being checked out, her head bobs side to side, clearly still rocking to her own beat, then she’s given the green light to head into the cage…and she drops to her haunches, Predator crawling up the steps, then into the cage, an almost sinister grin on her face as she bounds into a sprint across the cage, before circling to her corner.

The slow, familiar opening to Metallica’s “Turn the Page” heralds one of the favorite adopted daughters of Sin City, the Lightweight Champion Paige Holloway–and Las Vegas is letting the Champion know about it, long before she steps through the curtain. A wave of anticipation fills the arena, as Paige is shown pacing through the back corridors of the T-Mobile Arena; she wastes no time, almost marching through the hallway, pushing the curtain aside and keeping up the same pace, not quite sprinting down the aisle, but certainly not waiting on any of her corner that might be moving any slower than her.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Listen to the response of this crowd as we welcome the two-time undisputed Lightweight Champion Paige Holloway! The Aussie is without a doubt an honorary Vegas product, training at the world-renowned Throne MMA. You take one look at the body language and you can clearly see that Holloway is all business. Tonight she begins her journey towards the one box she has left to check off for her decorated career, a lengthy reign as champion here in Union GP.”
BYRON McCALL: “Paige Holloway has done it all. She’s competed all over the world in every major promotion, racking up all of the accolades. She is an outlier, someone who has been able to compete at this high of level for so long, not many have ever been able to do it. However, she shows no signs of slowing down in the least bit! Tonight she faces a challenger that she hasn’t really faced, at least as far as her tenure in Union GP is concerned. Sadie Williams has a very unique set of skills that can be very tricky to decipher. Holloway is going to want to keep separation, fight on the perimeter and use her reach advantage to keep the fight in her realm. Don’t force the situation and don’t rush it. Do what you do best and eventually the fight will tilt into her favor.”
It takes no time at all for Paige to move to cageside, stopping only because she absolutely has to. She sheds the warmup suit and ceremonial gear, bumping fists with all of her cornermen before turning to the ringside official. He gives the Champion one last moment, then begins the cageside inspection. Paige’s body is visibly tense, as if she were just waiting for the opportunity to unleash, and it seems to be all she can do to contain her energy right here on the inspection spot; she’s given the green light, though, and bounds up the steps and into the cage, making a couple quick laps around the perimeter of the Octagon, before settling back into her corner, allowing the fans in attendance a moment to embrace their adopted hometown girl in adoration.
MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Co-Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Spencer Allen, Toby Lewis, and Caleb Hendricks, and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Ron Anderson. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Live from the sold out T-Mobile Arena in Sin City Las Vegas, Nevada, streaming exclusively on the Battleground Network…”
IT’S TIME!
MIKE DEMPSEY: “The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it is for the Union Grand Prix Lightweight Championship! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Fighter holding a professional mixed martial arts record of fourteen wins, five losses, one draw. She stands 5’9” tall, and weighing in at 152 pounds. She is from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, fighting out of Titan MMA — presenting the former Everest MMA Featherweight Champion and the number two ranked Lightweight Contender in the World, “The Serpent” Sadie Williams!”
Sadie steps a few paces out into the cage, bumping fists with Mike Dempsey before stretching her arms out wide, soaking in the mixed reaction that she gets with a massive smile on her face–on one hand, she has her section of fans; on the other, she’s facing a fan favorite in the Lightweight Champion, so there’s no small amount of jeering as well.
MIKE DEMPSEY: “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Muay Thai Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of twenty-nine wins, five losses, one draw. She stands 5’10” tall, and weighing in at 153.5 pounds. She is from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, fighting out of Throne MMA in Las Vegas — presenting THE REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNDISPUTED Union Grand Prix Lightweight Champion of the World, “Ram-Paige” Paige Holloway!”
Paige is a lot more contained in her reaction than Sadie; here in her adopted hometown, she’s showered in cheers, but she only responds by pounding her chest a couple times, lifting a fist to the sky. Unlike her challenger, Paige’s expression is cold, calculating, already studying Sadie’s movements long before the fight ever begins.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, here… we… go! A possible twenty-five minutes of action is moments away to determine who walks out as the Lightweight Champion of the World!”
The referee steps to the center of the cage and motions for both fighters to meet. With Mike Dempsey standing behind holding the microphone, referee Ron Anderson gives one final pep talk.
RON ANDERSON: “Alright fighters, we’ve gone through the rules in the back. Protect yourself at all times, follow my instructions, touch gloves and let’s do it.”
Both fighters seem ready to burst with adrenaline. Without much hesitation, they touch gloves and quickly backpedal to their respective corners. As they settle into their stances, Ron Anderson checks off with each fighter one last time, ensuring they are both ready for the challenge that lies ahead.

The fight starts quickly–no sooner have the two women touched gloves, before Sadie fakes a level change to test Paige’s readiness, but the champion doesn’t bite on the feint; in fact, she just snaps off a stinging leg kick that Sadie only barely has time to check. Sadie circles out, giving up the center of the cage but finding angles to get in range and land a couple quick jabs, but she’s playing Paige’s game and the striking power difference is quickly evidenced: Paige absorbs a couple quick jabs, before countering with a blistering straight right that clearly wobbles Sadie early in the fight! Paige follows up with a big uppercut that buckles Sadie to the mat, but the Challenger recovers quickly and launches a series of kicks from her back, aimed at Paige’s knee. Paige replies with a few snapping kicks to the thigh, but after a while, the inactivity causes the official to stand the fighters up and restart the fight.
Sadie has to circle away to keep the space between herself and Paige for a moment longer to recover her wits, but the Champion clearly knows Sadie’s hurt, as she marches the Canadian down, landing a one-two combination, punctuated with a blistering leg kick. Sadie responds well, though, landing a big, looping overhand right that clips Paige on the chin, giving Sadie enough time to dive for a double leg takedown! Paige’s sprawl holds early on, and the Champion even snatches a Guillotine Choke attempt, but Sadie gets her head free and sits out into guard. Holloway’s tentative even on top, throwing a couple shots to the body but not risking a whole lot with ground and pound from Sadie’s guard; instead, she works to break Sadie down, but Williams is several steps beyond Paige on the mat; she lets Paige start to break her guard, only to snatch half-guard when Paige tries to clear, eventually finding a way all the way out, to take the Champion’s back!
Sadie locks up a body triangle, but Paige fights off an attempt at a submission from that point; she tries to spin into Sadie’s guard, to at least find a way to close out the round in dominant position, but Sadie blocks any attempt Paige makes, and while she doesn’t find the choke she’s struggling for, she does ride the rest of Round One out on the Champion’s back.

Round Two begins with another touch of the gloves, and this time it’s Paige out to a faster start–she leads with a kick leg kick that Sadie manages to check, but follows up with a blistering uppercut that lands! Sadie manages to shake off the effects, jabbing her way into range and managing to avoid the big power punch that Paige comes back with, before driving all the way in and attempting to sweep Paige to the mat with a double leg takedown! Paige manages to keep her footing for the time being, tying Sadie up in a clinch and pushing her back against the cage; Sadie lands a series of shots to the body, both punches and a handful of knees, but when Paige lands, it’s clearly with more intent–one of “Ram-Paige’s” elbows cracks Sadie in the temple and wobbles her, but Sadie doesn’t back down–she keeps trading strikes with Paige, alternating shoulder thrusts and hooks to the body, but getting cracked in the midsection with knees from the reigning Champion!
One of the knees Paige lands clearly affects Sadie’s breathing, because she does something…a little desperate, it has to be said: with Paige cinched down in a clinch, Sadie jumps for a flying armbar! It even looks like she might have it, but when she tries to turn to her stomach to put even more pressure down, Paige manages to rip her arm free and end up taking Sadie’s back! Pinned up against the cage, Sadie takes a few big shots from Paige, but she manages to keep hold of the Champion rather than let her up, and after a lot of hand fighting and struggling, Sadie manages to roll back to her back, and even get as far as half-guard. Paige postures up on Sadie and rains down punches from the top, but a lot of her shots aren’t especially accurate; she misses more than she connects, but it does force Sadie to only defend, at least until she catches one of Paige’s arms and tightens down on it.
Paige struggles to free her arm from Sadie’s grasp, as the Canadian works to establish control of her opponent’s wrist–then breaks her half-guard, and throws up an Omoplata! Paige rolls through to avoid the submission, but Sadie’s instincts get her the better of the scramble, and she ends up on top, in Side Mount! With thirty seconds left in the round, Sadie secures her control in Side Mount, and just slams down hammerfists and elbows into Paige’s face! A small cut forms under Paige’s left eye, and Sadie almost snatches an Armbar at the last second, before the horn sounds to send the fight to Round 3.

Despite the takedowns in both rounds, Paige comes out aggressive with her kicks yet again; a quick one-two combo lands, punctuated by an uppercut that Sadie just gets out of the way of, but in the process, makes room for Paige to slam in a body kick. Sadie catches the leg a second too late, and while she eats the full force of the kick, she also now has Paige on one leg, and manages to sweep the Champion’s far ankle, sending her crashing to the mat. Paige scrambles back up to her feet, but Sadie pounces on her back! Paige stands up straight, but she’s carrying all of Sadie’s weight, and ends up driving back against the fence. Slowly but surely, she manages to turn into Sadie, while trying to fight off the attempted Rear Naked Choke!
Paige drops back to all 4s, before starting to shake Sadie off of her back, but Sadie repositions herself and reestablishes her control–at the expense of her submission attempt, for now. Paige keeps working, small movements as she knows she can’t make a mistake on the mat with Sadie; the Champion eats a few shots from the top, as Sadie tries to flatten Paige out, but Holloway just eats them and keeps on her mission, slowly but surely working to get Sadie off her back. As soon as she has any kind of room, she scrambles loose and backs up to her feet, leaving Sadie on the ground kicking at her knees again. Nothing of much importance lands, though, and eventually Sadie’s stood up to restart the fight.
Sadie’s corner shouts that Paige is getting tired from all the grappling, and to take advantage of it–and take advantage of it, Sadie does! Paige engages with a blistering straight right, then a left uppercut behind it, but Sadie just drops levels and drives for another takedown! This time, she sweeps Paige all the way off her feet, and manages to pass to Side Mount right away! Sadie’s prowess on the ground is quickly on display, as she manages to slide across to Full Mount, and starts to rain down punches from the top! Paige covers up, avoiding the obvious mistake of extending her arms to try to push Sadie away. Sadie doesn’t land anything monumentally powerful, but she lands a string of good, solid punches from the top, before Paige finds space and scrambles, giving her back up audaciously, but surging to her feet and pushing away to create space. At the ten second clapper, Paige snaps off one big high kick to try and get Sadie out of there, but it misses wildly and the horn sounds to send the fight to the Championship Rounds.

Sadie’s corner might think Paige is getting tired, but Sadie looks just as anxious to get Paige out of there when the fourth round begins, as the Champion did at the end of the third. As soon as the horn sounds, the flashier side of Sadie comes out–she almost immediately shoots an Imanari Roll that doesn’t even come close to taking Paige down, and eats a couple chopping leg kicks for her troubles before she’s back on her feet. Sadie stuns Paige with a big, winging combo of punches, an overhand right and a left uppercut, but Paige bites down on her mouthpiece and teep kicks Sadie away before she can do any more. Paige launches another huge head kick, but this time she clips Sadie and drops her to the mat!
The official stands over Sadie, making sure she can still fight, but Paige doesn’t give her time to recover; she dives down to crack Sadie with a massive right hand, launching some big strikes from the top as she tries to stop her Challenger! The official warns Sadie to defend herself, and Williams does–she ties up Paige’s arm to stop the onslaught, recovering her full guard and taking a moment to gather her wits. While Paige lands a few ticky-tack punches, Sadie throws up a high guard like she’s going for an armbar!
Paige wrenches her arm loose enough that it’s not hyperextended, but she can’t get it free–and that’s when Sadie pounces; from the high guard, she moves to Rubber Guard, passing her shin under Paige’s neck, attempting a Gogoplata! Paige realizes what’s happening far too late, but she defends as well as she can, turning her head away and slamming her fist into Sadie’s side; Sadie grits her teeth, clinching down on Paige’s head to try to force the Champion to submit, working and working to throw her other leg over Paige’s shoulder and really cinch in the choke…but Paige is able to fight it off time and again, giving herself precious time to recover and find a way out…
…until Sadie resorts to a Thai Plum, crushing Paige’s throat against her shin, and forcing the Champion to submit! Sadie releases Paige once the official confirms her victory, rolling to her feet and letting out an emotional, bellowing scream, clinching both fists and raising her arms into the air, literally sprinting across the cage and jumping up to straddle the top, beating her chest in excitement. She climbs down and heads over to share just a moment with Paige, the mics not picking up what the two say to each other, but it’s ended with an embrace between the two fighters before they move to the center of the cage for the official announcement.
MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Ron Anderson has called a stop to this contest at two minutes, seventeen seconds of the fourth round! Declaring your winner, by Submission due to a Gogoplata, AAAAAND NEEEEEW Union Grand Prix Lightweight Champion of the World, “The Serpent!” Sadie Williams!”
Sadie gets her arm raised, and the title strapped around her waist, before she turns to give Paige another fist-bump and a hug, the two fighters sharing another quick moment before they split off to slap hands with each others’ corners, then the stream cuts to a breakdown of the fight’s statistics.

Despite the mixed reaction to Sadie’s win, the energy in the T-Mobile Arena is still ramped up to 11, a mix of cheers and jeers toward the new Lightweight Champion, who raises the belt over her head for a moment. She slings it back over her shoulder, exhaling a long breath and beaming a bright smile as she’s joined by Bodie Sullivan.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the winner AND NEW Union Grand Prix Lightweight Champion, Sadie Williams! How’s that sound, Sadie?”
SADIE WILLIAMS: “That is…everything I wanted it to be!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “It was a grueling fight, you took some big shots early on that looked like they might’ve taken you out of the fight–especially that head kick in the fourth round, how badly were you hurt there?”
Sadie puffs out her cheeks and blows out a breath.
SADIE WILLIAMS: “It’s not fun to get kicked in the head, Bodie!”
Sadie laughs a little at the absurdity of the statement, shaking her head and grinning before continuing her thought.
SADIE WILLIAMS: “Especially not by someone like Paige, that…it wasn’t great, I’ll just put it that way. It doesn’t surprise me, seeing so many finishes from her in the past, and…yanno, I’m just glad I wasn’t one of them.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “You keep finding ways to surprise us in these fights; we’ve seen kneebars set up in multiple ways, a rolling kimura last time out against Ray Rogers, you went for a lot of unusual stuff here tonight, not least of which that flying armbar attempt, and then to get a win over a veteran like Paige, with a Gogoplata…what’s going through your mind, when you try this stuff? Walk me through what led to that.”
SADIE WILLIAMS: “I don’t necessarily set out planning to do stuff like that, Bodie, but I’m not gonna shy away from the opportunity either. If I see an opening, I’m gonna try and take advantage of it–I saw a few opportunities to try things tonight, and…yeah, most of them didn’t quite pay off how I wanted them to, but you keep going until something works. Paige knew what to do, in terms of defending the usual submissions, she didn’t let me get her arm, she defended the triangle frame pretty well, so I had to go to something she wasn’t looking for, and, hey, it got the job done, so I’ll take it.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “This makes 5 wins in a row since you moved up from Everest, and an 8 fight unbeaten streak all-in-all, a really, we use the word a lot, but meteoric rise through a dangerous 155 pound division; with that in mind, is there anybody in particular you want to see for your first title defense?”
SADIE WILLIAMS: “It’s not my job to find challengers, Bodie, it’s their job to earn their shot, but I’m ready for anybody. Whoever Dante thinks deserves it, let’s get it going, I’m ready.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Fair enough. Congratulations on a great performance–the new Lightweight Champion of the World, everybody, SADIE WILLIAMS!”
Sadie raises the belt up in the air again, before going to celebrate with her corner. Bodie, meanwhile, makes his way over to the defeated ex-champion, who exhales a sharp breath.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “I’m here with Paige Holloway, and Paige, obviously not the way you wanted tonight to go, was there anything in particular about this fight that surprised you?”
PAIGE HOLLOWAY: “Honestly, Sadie’s tougher than I gave her credit for; a couple of those shots early in the fight, I thought would’ve put her out, but she found that second, third, fourth wind and just kept on coming. You asked her about the head kick in that last round, I had the same thought, I thought for a second that she was out, and then she just…wasn’t, so, yea, just…her toughness, I guess, surprised me.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “You talked after the win over 2Face about how you wanted to have that title reign you thought you could be proud of, this…obviously didn’t lend itself to that, is that still in your mind, or…what’s next for you, after this, especially considering this is the last fight on your current contract and we haven’t heard anything about a renewal up to this point?”
PAIGE HOLLOWAY: “Ah…yanno, right now, I’m not sure. Obviously, really disappointed tonight, so I’m not gonna start speculating about future fights or whatever right now. As you say, Dante and I are gonna sit down, talk about contracts and all that, get all that sorted, but…yanno, right now, I just wanna give Sadie credit, she did everything she had to do to win the title…”
There’s significant pockets of fans in attendance that aren’t thrilled by Sadie’s win, and their jeering causes Paige to shake her head.
PAIGE HOLLOWAY: “Hey, don’t boo that, she earned it, give her the respect she deserves. But, to your question, Bodie, right now…I’m gonna take a minute, get the contract situation figured out, and just see where we go from here.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Totally understandable. Obviously, we all hope to see you back in the cage soon. Paige Holloway, ladies and gentlemen!”
Paige holds her arms in the air, before she heads out of the cage, and leaves Sadie to celebrate a little while longer, before we cut away to the final commercial break.

As the thunderous opening riff of STVORE’s “Sgori” reverberates through the arena, a sense of fear sweeps over the audience, for they know that tonight, Viktor Volkov is ready to unleash his malevolent prowess. From the shadows, a figure emerges – Viktor Volkov, the embodiment of mystery and menace. His steely eyes, like shards of glass, remain locked onto the looming cage. Each step he takes is a sinister, deliberate advance, as if he’s treading upon the very precipice of chaos. The spectators hold their breath, caught in the thrill of the moment, as Volkov’s towering frame casts an imposing shadow over the cage.
Unfazed by the gravity of the occasion, Viktor Volkov marches onward, a silent harbinger of impending doom. He cracks his knuckles with a resounding snap, the sound echoing like a harbinger of destruction, and swings his arms a few times to loosen the knots in his muscles. The audience is spellbound, unable to tear their eyes away from this vengeful specimen that has emerged from the darkness and into the burning bright lights, ready to unleash his savage might.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “No hocus pocus, just focus! The big, bad Viktor Volkov stoically marches toward the field of battle, and he’s got his sights set on finally overcoming the hurdle of becoming a Union Grand Prix Champion. He came up short in previous bids for the now defunct Cruiserweight Title against Roscoe Robinson, the Undisputed Heavyweight Title against Kennard Rozier, and the Interim Heavyweight Title against Gauge Lattimore. Given where he’s at this point of his career and the way the division is shaping up with the next generation of talent, you have to assume that this is his final shot at gold.”
BYRON McCALL: “You hate to think that way, but I agree with you, Bodie. Viktor Volkov was here during the company’s inception, took a long sabbatical from the sport before returning as a Heavyweight, and throughout the two separate runs, Big Vik has firmly established himself as a perennial contender but has never been able to break through. I think he and his camp knows that this could very well be his final shot here in Union GP, so you best believe he’s going to leave it all out there in the octagon tonight.”
Volkov calmly removes his BST Fightwear branded tee, handing it off to a cornerman before bumping the fist of every teammate around him. Eventually his head coach steps up in front of him, squirting some water in Volkov’s mouth before handing him his black mouth guard, adorned with the image of the grim reaper. The big Russian pops it into his mouth before the cutman goes to work, carefully placing vaseline across each brow, then rubbing it into his cheeks, nose and forehead area. The cutman then nods to Volkov, who turns, brushing by him as he makes his way up the steps and into the cage. Vik takes a quick lap around the cage, breaking into a light jog before he settles back into his corner, intimidatingly beginning to pace back and forth as his music slowly dies down.

As the anticipation inside the arena reaches a fever pitch, a haunting melody starts to echo through the speakers. It’s the chilling tune of “Hide and Seek” by Klergy, sending shivers down the spines of every spectator. The lights dim, and a lone spotlight flickers onto the entrance ramp. A thick mist begins to roll out, shrouding the stage in a ghostly aura. Out of the haze emerges the Union GP Heavyweight Champion, Gauge Lattimore, with his cornermen flanking him on either side. He steps forward, silhouetted against the darkness, wearing a tattered mask that conceals his face, and a ripped and tattered black hoodie with a large rusted chain around his neck. The crowd is spellbound, unsure if they’re witnessing a fighter or a creature of the night.

I KNOW WHERE YOU’RE HIDING, I KNOW WHO YOU ARE

As the song intensifies, Gauge begins to march down the ramp, each footfall sending a thunderous echo through the arena. His intimidating presence draws simultaneous awe and fear from the crowd. The atmosphere is charged with excitement, and every spectator is on the edge of their seat, eagerly waiting to witness the spectacle that is Gauge Lattimore. Upon reaching the cageside area, the champion slowly removes his mask, revealing a stern expression that exudes power and determination. He hands it to a young fan in the front row, creating an unforgettable moment of connection between the imposing fighter and his adoring audience. With his face now exposed, Gauge continues undressing, shedding his tattered black hoodie, revealing his chiseled physique beneath. As Gauge goes down the line, hugging every one of his teammates, the large rusted chain clinks as it swings from side to side. He finally tosses the chain over his head and hangs it over his head coach’s shoulders.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “And making the final walk for the night, it’s the undisputed Heavyweight Champion Gauge Lattimore! Over the last few fights, Lattimore has morphed into this sort of “boogeyman” type of persona for these grand entrances, and it’s quite fitting. This man has fought and beaten the biggest, the baddest, and the best over and over and over again throughout his career. Tonight, he has the chance to tie the all-time Heavyweight title defense record with a win, potentially sharing the distinction with former teammate Kennard Rozier.”
BYRON McCALL: “Gauge Lattimore is a guy who wants to stay active and keep busy. He’s ripped off three title defenses in a relatively short three month span, certainly giving his supporters plenty to root for. The way he approaches his fights is a spectator’s delight. Always pressing forward, keeping the tempo at an eleven, and I’m sure we can expect the same tonight. Lattimore is gonna want to push Volkov to exhaustion as quickly as possible, slow him down and zap that terrifying power out of him. I could see him drag this out to championship rounds then really turn up the pace and do what he does best — fire at will with little resistance. If he can do that, there’s little doubt he will walk out AND STILL.”
Gauge stands tall and unyielding, awaiting the pre-fight inspection from the cutman. The camera zooms in, capturing the intensity in his eyes, the sweat on his brow, and the adrenaline coursing through his veins. The cutman ensures that Gauge is ready for the battle that lies ahead, giving him a nod of approval. He steps up to the cage door, looking up at the bright lights of the arena, a focused glint in his eyes. Before stepping in, he takes a moment to acknowledge the support from his fans, raising his fists in the air, and the entire crowd erupts in a deafening roar. As he walks to his corner, the cage door slams shut one last time tonight.
MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Spencer Allen, Toby Lewis, and Caleb Hendricks, and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Lars Levy. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Live from the sold out T-Mobile Arena in Sin City Las Vegas, Nevada, streaming exclusively on the Battleground Network…”
IT’S TIME!
MIKE DEMPSEY: “The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it is for the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of fourteen wins, six losses. He stands 6’5” tall, and weighing in at 250 pounds. He is from Saint Petersburg, Russia, fighting out of Volkov Fighting Institute — presenting the former Union Grand Prix Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Title Challenger and the number one ranked Heavyweight Contender in the World, “Big Vik” Viktor Volkov!”
As the raucous crowd’s deafening roars bounced off the walls, Viktor Volkov, a figure of raw power and ferocity, slowly raised his fists. The stark shadows accentuated the contours of his muscular frame, casting an eerie, yet magnetic allure that sent shivers down the spines of all who gazed upon him.
MIKE DEMPSEY: “And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of twenty-six wins, four losses. He stands 6’3” tall, and weighing in at 247 pounds. He is from Detroit, Michigan, fighting out of Gold Blooded MMA — presenting THE REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNDISPUTED Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion of the World, Gauge “Lights Out” Lattimore!”
Gauge Lattimore resides in his corner, exuding a chilling calmness, his visage cloaked in shadows. The booming crowd’s thunderous applause and fervent cheers seem but distant echoes to him, for he is a solitary sentinel, impervious to any distractions. His gaze, an unbending laser of determination, pierces through the chaos, locking onto the adversary who stands before him. As the tension in the air grows heavier by the second, the world watches with bated breath, drawn into the hypnotic trance of two men on the brink of a cataclysmic storm.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Here we go, folks! History is up for grabs! Two fighters who share the most Performance bonuses in Union GP history are just seconds away from battling it out for a second time, this time for the undisputed Heavyweight Championship! Get your Grap Snax ready!”
The referee steps to the center of the cage and motions for both fighters to meet. With Mike Dempsey standing behind holding the microphone, referee Lars Levy gives one final pep talk.
LARS LEVY: “Alright gentlemen, we’ve gone through the rules in the back. Protect yourself at all times, follow my instructions, touch gloves and let’s do it. Best of luck to the both of you.”
Both fighters seem ready to burst with adrenaline. Without much hesitation, they touch gloves and quickly backpedal to their respective corners. As they settle into their stances, Lars Levy checks off with each fighter one last time, ensuring they are both ready for the challenge that lies ahead.
LARS LEVY: “Are you ready, red? Are you ready, blue? Let’s fight!”

The crowd roars with anticipation as the fighters touch gloves, and it seems clear that both fighters are in no rush to unload their offense just yet. Lattimore, with his renowned high motor, moves nimbly around the cage. He bobs and weaves, testing the waters with quick jabs and leg kicks. Volkov, on the other hand, is the bigger man, towering over Lattimore, his reach extending like the Russian mountain ranges. He keeps his distance, eyeing his opponent, searching for an opening to unleash his brute power.
The first round unfolds like a strategic chess match. Lattimore’s speed and agility shine as he darts in and out, peppering Volkov with a series of punches to the head and body, probing for weaknesses. Volkov, though less active, doesn’t seem fazed. He controls the center of the cage, and whenever Lattimore ventures too close, he thunders back with his own punishing strikes. The sound of each blow reverberates through the arena, demonstrating the sheer force behind each punch.
The crowd, suspended in a trance state, can feel the tension in the air. Lattimore and Volkov both understand the gravity of the occasion, and they refuse to give an inch. The seconds tick away, and the pace begins to quicken, with Lattimore starting to let his hands go, mixing in a few leg kicks and a spinning backfist. Volkov responds by establishing his jab, testing Lattimore’s head movement, and utilizing the clinch to break his rhythm. The audience is treated to a true boxing masterclass.
As the round nears its end, Lattimore presses forward, his high motor on full display. He launches a vicious combination, finishing with a thunderous left hook to the body. Volkov absorbs the punishment but remains upright. He fires back with a brutal right cross that grazes Lattimore’s temple, causing a collective gasp from the spectators. The champion stumbles but regains his composure, narrowly avoiding a fight-ending blow.
The horn sounds, signaling the end of the round, and the fighters return to their corners. The judges will have their work cut out for them, as both men displayed their skills and determination throughout the methodical round. It’s anyone’s guess who secured the edge.

Lattimore takes a step forward with newfound confidence. He’s cracked the code, deciphering Volkov’s patterns and tells from the first round, and now he’s poised to exploit them. His high motor roars to life, darting in and out with surgical precision. He begins by probing with a stinging jab, connecting to Volkov’s face. The crowd senses something is about to unravel.
Lattimore’s hand speed is astounding, blurring through the air as he strings together his combinations like a maestro orchestrating a symphony. A left hook to the body, a right cross upstairs, and a lightning-fast leg kick follow in rapid succession. Volkov is caught off guard, trying to keep pace with the champion’s blistering offense. Lattimore’s dazzling footwork keeps him out of harm’s way as he slips Volkov’s counters with cat-like reflexes.
Volkov, the stoic giant, doesn’t back down. He knows that a single strike can change the course of this battle. The arena’s thunderous roar refuses to die down, echoing the intense five-round battle that unfolded between two behemoth Heavyweight titans. Amidst the frenzied sea of individuals crammed within the octagon’s confines, Bodie Sullivan weaves through the crowd, his determination persistent as he inches closer to the newly-crowned champion, Viktor Volkov, looking to capture his first words after his milestone victory.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m standing here with the winner AND NEW Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion, Viktor Volkov! Vik, you just went through five rounds of hell and came out on top! After all the heartbreaking setbacks, you finally claimed the gold. How does it feel to finally have that championship belt around your waist?”
VIKTOR VOLKOV: “Ah, thank you, Bodie. It feels… it feels like… the biggest mountain. I climb, I fall, I climb again… and now, at the top. I’m so… (searches for words) happy. I fight with heart, with blood, with sweat. It is my life.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “You can see the emotion in your eyes, Vik. This was an all-out war. You had to dig deep to secure the scorecards over Gauge Lattimore, who as we all know has a win over you. What was different in this camp that allowed you to turn the tables tonight?”
VIKTOR VOLKOV: “Gauge, he… very tough fighter. I train hard, my team, they make me… better. My wife, my child, my country, they… (touches his heart) give me strength. I remember… that loss, and I use it to make me stronger. Tonight, I show, I can beat him.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Now, I know you’ve probably got a lot of thoughts and emotions racing through your head, but off bat, what can we expect next for Viktor Volkov? Are you wanting to take some time off, or are you looking to get right back in there as soon as you can?”
VIKTOR VOLKOV: “Revenge, yes. I take time to heal, then fight again. Kennard Rozier, I see you. I coming for you. You take something from me, now I take something from you. (pounds his chest) I’m not afraid. We fight, I win. Jason Jackson, wherever you are… you, my friend, massive… (pauses, searching for words) bitch. You talk, you talk, but you no fight me again. (waves dismissively) I have no time for talkers. I fight, I win, I prove.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Vik, before I let you go off and celebrate this win, is there anything else you’d like to say?”
VIKTOR VOLKOV: “I thank my team. My wife, my child, they my strength. And my country… Mother Russia, (places his hand on his heart) I fight for you. I fight for all. Thank you, everyone, for support. This for you.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, Viktor, it’s been a pleasure calling your fights and watching this long road to a much deserved Championship. Congratulations once again on your victory. You’ve shown incredible heart and determination tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for your new Union GP Heavyweight Champion!”
With a quick nod, Bodie Sullivan shakes hands with Viktor Volkov before the new Champion strides towards his entourage and loved ones. Bodie’s focus sharpens as he shifts gears and heads across the octagon. The tension is heavy as Bodie zeroes in on the dethroned Champion, Gauge Lattimore. The spotlight narrows, casting a haunting glow. Bodie’s eyes lock onto Lattimore, who’s shed his gloves and carefully placed them on the canvas, an ominous sign that signals his impending send-off.
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the former Heavyweight Champion. Gauge, obviously this is not the outcome you were looking for. It was a tough fight, an exciting fight. Do you think you did enough to get the win?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “Uhh, you know, I honestly wasn’t sure how the judges were gonna score it. I knew it was a war out here. I thought it was gonna be hard to come back after getting dropped in the fourth like that, I kinda felt like I had to get a finish in order to win. Couldn’t get it done. Am I disappointed? Sure, but I ain’t hanging my head. It was a helluva fight. Vik, he’s a warrior man, and he deserved that win. I got nothing but respect for him.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “So now, I have to ask. This was the last fight on your contract, and we all noticed you lay your gloves on the canvas. Is this the end for Gauge Lattimore?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “I was ready to hang it up after my fight with Rozier. That’s the one that really lit a fire under me. We spent a lot of time together at 9th World, and it’s a fight I wanted out of respect. After that, we looked at it and I had one more on my contract, and I wanted to honor it. Win, lose, or draw this was it for me. I didn’t want to say anything about it and make this build up all about me. I wanted the hype and excitement to be just about the fight. Volkov deserves that. I’ve done more than I ever imagined in this sport. I have no regrets making this decision.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “I think I can speak for everyone here that we hate to hear this news, but on the same note, we all want to thank you and congratulate you and wish you the very best in your retirement. So, what’s the next chapter look like for Gauge Lattimore?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “Well it’s kinda funny. Just as we made the decision to do one last fight, Bruce D’Angelo, my head coach since my boxing days, a man who’s been a father figure to me for most of my life, decided this would be his last night coaching as well. So it’s a double retirement. With him stepping away from coaching, I’ll be stepping into his role at Gold Blooded MMA. My primary focus will be on guiding my boys, Deebo, Moony, and Baby Briggs, towards championship titles. Our gym houses a lot of untapped talented men and women eager to make their mark on the big stage, and it’s time for me to pay it forward.”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, Gauge, we wish you the best of luck in this new endeavor. It’s good to know that we’ll still be seeing you around, only from this point on it’ll be on the other side of the fence. Before we sign off, do you have any last words?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “I do. First off, Vik, you’ve got the heart of a true champion. I want to thank you for the fight tonight. You’re the real deal, and I believe the division is in good hands with you as the champ. Keep making us proud. I want to thank my coaches and my teammates, you’re the only family I’ve got. I wouldn’t have made it this far in life without each and every one of you. I want to thank every single person I have ever had the pleasure of working with from Triumph FC, to Everest MMA, to G2, and to Union GP. To my fellow fighters, thank you for the battles, the camaraderie, and the shared moments of greatness. To the fans, thank you for your unrelenting support. It’s been a helluva ride, but it’s Lights Out for Gauge Lattimore!”
BODIE SULLIVAN: “Thank you for your incredible career and all of the memorable fights you’ve given us over the years. It’s been an honor and a privilege to call your fights. We wish you all the best in your future successes. Ladies and gentlemen, one last time, give it up for a true legend of the game, Gauge “Lights Out” Lattimore!”
The deafening cheers of the crowd reached their peak as Bodie and Gauge shared one final handshake. After a swift exit from the octagon, Bodie left the cage to Gauge, who then turned to Vik, extending his hand for another handshake. With a respectful flourish, Gauge raised Vik’s hand high into the air and offered a quick bow before gracefully exiting the octagon, making way for Volkov’s moment of glory. As the camera feed began to zoom out, it unveiled an arena electrified by an enthusiastic crowd, with a wave of camera flashes illuminating the scene as the feed gradually faded away. The Battleground Network emblem blazed across the screen as the last graphic, marking the end of this night’s memorable broadcast.
