ONE ON ONE FT. JORDAN PARKER
The camera fades in from black. A soft hum fills the background, We cut to a clean, well-lit interview set. Standing in frame is Isaac Cohen. Impeccable as ever. Tailored charcoal suit. Crisp white shirt. Deep burgundy tie. Not a wrinkle out of place. Even under the harsh backstage lighting, he looks like he belongs on a magazine cover.
Isaac adjusts his cufflinks slightly before offering a composed, professional smile to the camera.
Isaac Cohen: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to UGP 74: Kane vs Webb II, and another One on One interview.”
He pauses briefly.
Isaac Cohen: “And right now, I’m joined by a man who has built one of the most experienced resumes in Union Grand Prix history.”
The camera widens slightly. Standing beside him is Jordan Parker. There’s a stark contrast.
Where Isaac is polished, Jordan is raw. Plain blue jeans. A gray hoodie zipped halfway up. The hood rests against the back of his neck, slightly worn from use. His hands are tucked into the front pocket, shoulders relaxed.
Toronto’s cold hasn’t quite left him. Neither has everything else. His breath is steady. His eyes are sharper than usual. Focused.
Isaac Cohen: “Jordan Parker… Thank you for your time.”
Jordan gives a small nod.
Isaac Cohen: “Nearly thirty fights across your career. You’ve seen just about every kind of opponent this sport can offer.”
A slight pause as Isaac tilts his head, studying him.
Isaac Cohen: “And yet this weekend, you step in against the number one contender, Hendrik Geen, a man riding momentum, confidence, and expectation. Someone who, like yourself, made history as the first champion of his division. A division you’re now in.”
Isaac lets that hang for a moment.
Isaac Cohen: “When you look at this fight, what do you see?”
The camera slowly pushes in on Jordan. He doesn’t answer right away. His eyes drop for just a second, like he’s sorting through more than just the question. His hands stay tucked in the pocket of his hoodie, shoulders rising slightly as he takes a slow breath.
When he finally looks back up, his voice is calm.
Jordan Parker: “…I see a man who did it first. Something I know quite a bit about.”
Jordan Parker: “Hendrik Geen didn’t just win fights, he helped build this division. A lot of people come in now, they see rankings, they see numbers next to names. But somebody had to take those first steps when none of that was guaranteed.”
He shifts his weight slightly, eyes drifting off for a moment before coming back.
Jordan Parker: “I respect that. I respect what it takes to be the first guy people are chasing. To have everybody studying you… coming for you… trying to make their name off you.”
A faint smirk tugs at the corner of his mouth, but it’s not cocky. It’s knowing.
Jordan Parker: “I’ve been there before.”
His tone tightens just a touch.
Jordan Parker: “And I’ve also been on the other side of it.”
Now there’s a different energy behind his eyes.
Jordan Parker: “Clawing your way back… when people stop talking about you like you matter. When every fight feels like it’s just to prove you still belong in the room.”
He exhales through his nose, jaw setting slightly.
Jordan Parker: “That kind of pressure… it doesn’t sit on your shoulders. It gets inside you. It changes how you think. How you train. How you live. It consumes you.”
His gaze locks forward now. Steady. Unblinking.
Jordan Parker: “So yeah… I see Hendrik. I respect Hendrik.”
Another small nod.
Jordan Parker: “But I also know exactly what he’s feeling… and exactly what I’m willing to become to get back to where I know I belong.”
Isaac gives a slight nod, letting the weight of Jordan’s words settle before smoothly stepping back in.
Isaac Cohen: “You bring up understanding pressure… and that leads me to the stylistic dynamic in this fight.”
He turns his body a bit more toward Jordan now, one hand loosely clasped over the other.
Isaac Cohen: “Hendrik Geen is an accomplished, high-level kickboxer. Precise. Dangerous at range. Meanwhile, you’ve built your reputation as one of the most effective submission specialists this promotion has ever seen.”
There is a small pause.
Isaac Cohen: “And, Hendrik took to social media. He called you an all-time great… but also said, quite bluntly, that he intends to take your head off.”
Isaac raises an eyebrow slightly, just enough to acknowledge the tension without leaning into theatrics.
Isaac Cohen: “When you hear that… when you look at this clash of styles, how do you see it playing out?”
The camera shifts back to Jordan. He doesn’t react to the quote right away. Just a slow breath in… and out.
Jordan Parker: “Styles make fights.”
He nods once, like that alone answers half the question.
Jordan Parker: “I’ve been in there with a lot of guys who said they were gonna take my head off…”
A faint exhale through his nose.
Jordan Parker: “They didn’t.”
His eyes narrow slightly.
Jordan Parker: “And I’ve been in there with fighters who swore they’d never get caught… never get put in a bad spot… never tap. They did… 78 percent of my wins in UGP have been by submission.”
There’s no arrogance in how he says it. Just history and facts. He shifts his stance slightly, shoulders squaring up a bit more now.
Jordan Parker: “Hendrik’s dangerous. I’m not gonna pretend he’s not. If he connects cleanly, yeah… it can be over.”
A small nod, acknowledging reality.
Jordan Parker: “But this isn’t just about what he does well. It’s about what happens when the fight stops being comfortable.”
His voice lowers just a touch.
Jordan Parker: “When the distance closes… when the pace changes… When he’s struggling to catch his breath.”
He pauses a moment before continuing.
Jordan Parker: “I know what this fight means for him, because I was him”
His expression tightens slightly, more serious now.
Jordan Parker: “I know what it feels like to be right there… to see everything you’ve worked for within reach. To feel like this is your moment. But I also know what this means for me.”
Now there’s weight behind every word.
Jordan Parker: “This isn’t just another fight. This is a legacy. This is where you stand when it’s all said and done… what your name means when people talk about this company years from now.”
His eyes stay locked forward.
Jordan Parker: “Maybe one day… he’ll understand that. Today he simply can’t.”
Silence lingers for just a second longer than usual. Isaac studies him for a moment, like he knows there’s more there, something just beneath the surface.
Jordan Parker: “…Truth is…”
He shifts slightly, eyes no longer on Isaac, but somewhere past the camera. Somewhere deeper.
Jordan Parker: “No one can really understand the weight of it.”
A small shake of his head.
Jordan Parker: “Not fully.”
His hands stay in his hoodie pocket, but his shoulders tense just a bit.
Jordan Parker: “Being the first ever lightweight champion… that sounds good when people say it. It looks good on paper. Being the first to do it twice… then three times…”
He exhales softly.
Jordan Parker: “First three-time champion in any division…”
Now there’s a slight edge in his voice.
Jordan Parker: “That’s the expectation. Every time you walk in there, it’s not about proving you’re good… it’s about proving you still are.”
His jaw tightens.
Jordan Parker: “And then you look up one day and realize… you’re still only twenty-six.”
A faint, almost ironic smirk flickers and disappears.
Jordan Parker: “And people already talk about you like a finished story.”
He finally looks back toward Isaac.
Jordan Parker: “But I’m not done.”
A small step forward.
Jordan Parker: “What I’m working toward right now… it’s bigger than all of that. It’s about making sure there’s no question. No debate. No ‘what if.’”
A pause.
Jordan Parker: “About securing what I already know… against whatever odds are in front of me. That I’m one of the greatest to ever do this here… Not just here in UGP but one father best of all time period. I am the last of the originals that signed on day 1 and I am still going strong. I am still building my legacy. That’s not something that Hendrik can understand. Not even something that the Kane on the marquee can understand.
Jordan steps back half a pace, signaling he’s said what he came to say. The camera shifts back to Isaac Cohen. For the first time, he even takes a breath before speaking.
Composed, but clearly aware of the magnitude of what was just said.
Isaac Cohen: “…Jordan Parker, ladies and gentlemen.”
He turns slightly toward the camera, posture still pristine, voice measured but carrying a bit more weight now.
Isaac Cohen: “A man who has built a career on history, and now finds himself chasing something even greater… Immortality.”
A brief pause.
Isaac Cohen: “Tomorrow night, he steps into the cage against the number one contender, Hendrik Geen, in a clash of styles, eras, and ambitions.”
He clasps his hands together calmly.
Isaac Cohen: “Experience versus momentum. Legacy versus ascent.”
A slight nod.
Isaac Cohen: “And if Jordan Parker is right… we may be witnessing not just another fight, but another chapter in the story of one of the greatest fighters this sport has ever seen.”
He offers a final composed look into the camera.
Isaac Cohen: “For Union Grand Prix, I’m Isaac Cohen.”
Fade to black.
