UGP 80: McCALL vs PARKER II

Houston has waited eight years for this. Now, Union Grand Prix is coming back to the Lone Star State, and it isn’t coming quietly. UGP 80 takes over the Toyota Center for the promotion’s 80th supercard, its first in Houston since UGP 2 back in September of 2018, and only the fourth time the state has played host to a Union GP supercard. At the center of it all, welterweight champion and Hall of Famer Byron McCall puts his gold on the line against a familiar face. Jordan Parker, a three-time former lightweight champion, a Houston native, and a man who believes their first meeting was stolen from him. McCall took that fight by a contentious doctor stoppage. Parker has been waiting for the chance to settle the score. This time, there will be no unanswered questions. Just five rounds to decide who walks out with the championship.

The co-main event brings another Texas collision. Houston’s own Serenity Holmes squares off with Dallas native Taylor Webb in a five round bantamweight showdown between two former title challengers. Pride. Position. Another potential shot at the throne. Neither woman can afford to blink. Elsewhere, former featherweight champion Verona Jimenez meets Jalen Briggs in the featured undercard clash, while former lightweight title challenger Aliyah Marshall and rising prospect Kimberly Barclay set the tone when the main card gets underway.

Deep in the heart of Texas, there’s a new frontier of unfinished business waiting to be settled. No six-shooters in these duels. Just four ounce gloves with history on the line.

The night kicks off with the Prelims at 8:00 PM ET and culminates with the Main Card at 10:00 PM ET, streaming exclusively on the Battleground Network.
