ONE ON ONE FT. ROBIN KELSON

[With so much on the line regarding the suspense and preparation for Miami’s arrival for Union Grand Prix, the fighters have all been preparing for the night where everything could change. However, for one individual, this is a welcoming call to come back home and perform in the city where he was born and started his MMA career. On the other hand, he is the featured preliminary fight for UGP 65: Marshall vs. Holmes, and right now, he’s enjoying living the life of the city that he grew up in.

Rather than being inside the Kaseya Arena, the open view of the sea touching the bank of Miami Beach begins at Bayside next to Brickell where at a high-rise restaurant setting by the water shows Kayla Chapman dressed in a more tropical fashion sitting on a couch next to a fire pit beside Robin Kelson. The camera crew and production team are fully ready to begin this special segment highlighting the vice city vibe at night for the special guest, Robin Kelson.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Welcome ladies and gentlemen, and fight fans around the world. As you can see, we are doing a little something different tonight. We are enjoying the spoils here at Miami Beach next to Brickell because we have a very special guest. He is the fifth ranked welterweight fighter who is our featured preliminary fight for UGP 65: Marshall vs. Holmes. I am joined by Robin “The Sweetheart” Kelson!”

[A change of the camera angle away from Kayla shows Robin sitting down on the couch chair right next to her. He throws up a peace sign to the camera and leans back on the chair all relaxed from the view.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Robin, thank you for joining us. After all, we’re here in your city of Miami. Tell us, how does it feel to be back home and competing tonight?”

ROBIN KELSON: “Woo! We’re back in ma’ city from 3-0-5! This is where I was born, grew up, I lived right on Biscayne here and started my career after I graduated from the University of Miami. I’m so excited to be back and I know my family will be here to support me. I eat good, breathe good, dress good, the vibes are good so when it comes to my fight, I’ll be sure to turn up like crazy!”

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “One thing that makes you stand out is your personality. You’ve always been the type of fighter to live in the moment, go insane when the crowd is on you and be a pure entertainer. Why is that such an important aspect to your fight?”

[Robin smiles and kicks his right leg up.]

ROBIN KELSON: “Fighting goes back a long way to the gladiator era, Kayla. I like the traditional Greco-Roman style because not only could they fight but they loved the roar of the audience. To win meant two things: you defeat your opponent and you win the heart of the crowd. This is why I’m the featured preliminary fight because no one knows Miami more than I do. It’ll be the perfect time to go in there and put on a show and show how Miami vice does it when given the chance!”

[Kayla nods really loving the energy Robin is bringing to the interview.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “In your last fight against Alfie O’Shea, you’ve shown improvement in your striking offense and defense. You’ve always said that your camp, the Holmes MMA and Wrestling Academy, helps you in areas you’ve struggled in. How has your preparation been for your hometown return?”

ROBIN KELSON: “We got a whole lot of talent and badasses in the gym. We got strikers that could give a lot of people in Union a run for their money. Last fight, I got caught with a few shots but I did show that I can pack a punch. This fight, I’ve been really developing my striking and putting in the work because I know my opponent is a tough one.”

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Speaking of your opponent, we’re witnessing the classic tale of striker versus grappler. You’re wrestling is very vicious but you’re fighting the former Everest MMA Welterweight Champion, Kian De Beer. He’s ranked number three and defeated Ari Rosenberg via TKO. Do you think he’ll pose a threat to you with his power in kickboxing?”

ROBIN KELSON: “Hell nah!”

[Kayla chuckled and Robin rolled his eyes.]

ROBIN KELSON: “I ain’t worried about him. I have a team that can study and analyze anyone at this point. I’ve seen Kian fight and the moment I take him to the ground, I’ll do what I do best and that’s maul him down. He’ll be trapped with nowhere to go and I’ll continue to break him until he either taps or snaps. Look, Kian has a way for me to get into a potential title contention and I’m gonna do him dirty. The best part is I got my city behind me and I can use a 50K bonus for once so Dante, make sure to pay attention!”

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “And my final question is I know you enjoy just fighting for the hell of it but you’ve been making your way up the rankings. As you’ve said, if you win, you can be considered for a title shot. What can the welterweight division expect if you get that opportunity?”

[Robin stands up and shows off his chain that says “Sweetheart” to the camera while posing a pretty-boy smile.]

ROBIN KELSON: “They gon’ see me be more annoying than ever Kayla! I’m bout to lead this division so far that they ain’t ever gonna wonder how the hell I got there in the first place!”

[He sits back down and she turns her face to the camera to sign off.]

KAYLA CHAPMAN: “Well I can’t speak more on that. Thank you Robin for joining us and be sure to watch him fight against Kian De Beer in the featured preliminary fight for UGP 65: Marshall vs. Holmes! I am Kayla Chapman and wishing you all well!”

[Robin stands up and gives Kayla a hug before asking the camera to follow him to the edge where the barrier is. He does a little bit of shadowboxing before flexing for the camera as it transitions into the promo package for the event.]
