+ Outstanding striking and power, especially shown in his elbows and oblique/leg kicks. His striking style is very diverse and hard to predict.
+ Great takedown defense, he stuffs takedowns for fun at this point. It’s very hard to take him down, but not impossible.

WEAKNESSES
– Takedown offense leaves a lot to be desired, especially against more skilled opponents. He’s got great BJJ, but usually shoots for the legs to stall or find an awkward angle to strike. Once his opponent is down, though? That’s another story.
– Not immune to taking massive risks and looking for an early finish, much like his cousin. They can’t help it, even if one’s more sober than the others, the thrill is too much fun.
– Weaker chin than expected. His Achilles’ heel.

BACKSTORY
Marcel-Louis Jenkins (Usually billed as simply Marcel Jenkins, or shortened to MLJ) is the cousin of fellow UGP fighter, Kirk Jenkins. Marcel was born in Albuquerque to a Cajun family, but they moved to Texas when he was still young. This didn’t stop his bond with his cousins or his love for fighting, whether it be MMA or pro wrestling.
Later in life, he found himself lacking empathy at times; distant from the world around him. He might be an undiagnosed psychopath; he worries about it to this day, and feels guilty over it. Specifically, over using his own cousins as examples of what not to do: continuing his karate unlike Kirk and staying as healthy as possible unlike “Crackhead”. This is what keeps his worries over his mental state up to this day. With all this being said, he will lean into that dark side if it means he gets into his opponent’s minds.
Still, he loves his family very much and supports them however he can. Since then, he’s cultivated a 16-1 MMA record while working on side businesses and studies that made him wealthy. Thus, funding his own academy: Heartless N’ Proud, where he trains and teaches.
Due to his wealth and situation, he fights whenever he wants to, rather than because he needs to.
