Gauge, still donning his training gear, looks focused and determined, exuding all of the confidence needed for such an important fight.]
ISAAC COHEN:“Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to this electrifying One on One interview with the UGP Heavyweight Champion, Gauge Lattimore! Gauge, first of all, congratulations on defending your title and being on this remarkable journey. This weekend, you face your former 9th World teammate and former Heavyweight Champion, Kennard Rozier. Can you share with us what’s going through your mind as you prepare for this epic showdown?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE:“Yeah for sure, Isaac. It’s always an honor to be the poster boy for Union. It means they have faith in me putting on a great fight, defending my title while taking on a living legend like Kennard. You all know the story, we’ve shared the gym before as teammates, and I like to think there’s mutual respect between us. But make no mistake, this is a legacy fight for both of us. To be considered the Heavyweight GOAT, I need to prove that I can overcome someone as accomplished, respected, and feared as Pluggz.”
ISAAC COHEN:“Legacy fight indeed, Gauge! This could go down as one of those fights that becomes synonymous with the company. Now, you’ve mentioned that this fight is not about animosity, but about proving yourself. How do you maintain that focus, and what drives you to step into the cage with such determination?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE:“It’s all about the love for the sport and the people I’ve surrounded myself with, Isaac. Prizefighting is my passion, my life’s purpose. I’ve always believed in finding new ways of challenging myself and embracing every opportunity that comes my way to continue my improvement. Kennard is one of the best, and I want to be able to look back on my career knowing that I gave my all against the best fighters in their prime. That’s what keeps me hungry and focused. Like I said, this is a legacy fight, this is something that could elevate my name even higher in the history books.”
ISAAC COHEN:“Your dedication to the craft is truly inspiring, Gauge. Now, staying on the topic of legacy, you’ve had a spectacular journey so far, facing current and future Hall of Fame fighters and emerging victorious. How do you see this fight with Kennard Rozier shaping your legacy, win or lose?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “This fight will measure my time as a heavyweight fighter, Isaac. I dropped the ball as the Cruiserweight champion, and that’s something that has stuck in the back of my head. Kennard is the greatest heavyweight in my eyes, and he’s someone I’ve been targeting since I moved to heavyweight and he returned to fighting. Regardless of the outcome, at the end of the day, it’s about putting on a show for the fans, leaving everything in that octagon, and showing the world what I’m made of. A win solidifies my position as one of the greats, but even in defeat, I’ll go down swinging, knowing I gave my heart and soul.”
ISAAC COHEN:“I don’t think anyone will question your dedication to the sport. You constantly speak publicly that you want to fight as often as possible and will never turn down a fight. Now, tell us about your preparation for this momentous fight. Is there anything specific you’ve been working on to counter Kennard’s style?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE:“Preparation has been intense, Isaac. I’ve been honing my technique, studying Kennard’s fights, and strategizing with my team. I won’t reveal any secrets, but I’ve definitely tailored my training to be ready for whatever Kennard brings to the octagon. It’s all about adaptability and being one step ahead.”
ISAAC COHEN:“Well, I’m sure the fans can’t wait to witness the fireworks in the cage! Now, before we wrap up, any message for Kennard Rozier as you two prepare to face off?”
GAUGE LATTIMORE: “To Kennard, I just want to say that it’s an honor to share this moment with him. This weekend, we leave it all out there, and I know we’ll both bring our absolute best. Let’s give the fans a legendary fight they’ll talk about for years to come.”
ISAAC COHEN: “It’s going to be an epic battle indeed! Thank you, Gauge Lattimore, for sharing your thoughts with us. Ladies and gentlemen, don’t miss the Union GP Heavyweight Championship clash between Gauge Lattimore and Kennard Rozier this weekend at the T-Mobile Center!”
[As the interview draws to a close, there’s a sense of camaraderie between Isaac and Gauge. With smiles that speak volumes, they exchange heartfelt goodbyes, and the scene inside the gym fades out.]
