[As the arena doors swing open, a feverish roar sweeps through the swarming crowd, already teetering on the brink of pandemonium. A blaze of crimson spotlights pierced through the dark, sweeping the building with a haunting glow. Amidst the flickering laser lights and blinding strobes, the entrance stage glimmered with a mysterious aura, a portal to a realm beyond the veil. The thunderous bass of the music reverberates through your bones, rattling you to your very core. The ground shook with every beat, heralding the arrival of chaos and destruction.]

[The once crisp and cool atmosphere of hours prior is now thick with the mugginess of over twenty-thousand strong, smoldering with the intoxicating aroma of booze and that sticky-sweet leaf. Pyrotechnic explosives detonate with ear-splitting force, drowning out the raucous cheers of the crowd, unleashing mayhem upon this hallowed ground.]

[And so the stage was set for a brutal crusade, a blood-soaked war of the strongest. The conquerors stood proud, confident of their victory, while the meek cowered in fear, doubts gnawing at their minds like ravenous beasts. The camera swept down to the frontlines, where two men stood poised for battle. Bodie Sullivan, along with Hall of Famer Byron McCall, were dressed to the nines, ready for action. The camera zoomed in for a close-up, capturing every essence of their energy.]

BODIE SULLIVAN:“Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the T-Mobile Center in KCMO — Kansas City, Missouri, and the octagon is officially open for business for UGP 48: LATTIMORE versus ROZIER! Hello everyone and thank you for tuning in. I am Bodie Sullivan and of course joining me is the Hall of Fame Legend, “The Last Call” Byron McCall! Folks, it’s been a tumultuous July, to say the least, with back-to-back-to-back Super Cards fired off in rapid succession, culminating here with tonight’s event.”

BYRON McCALL:“That’s an understatement, Bodie. We witnessed a high stakes title unification bout between Undisputed Lightweight Champion 2Face Rodríguez and Interim Champ Alistair McKay, which ended with the shocking retirement from Bombs Away McKay after suffering a tough loss. Then, the wild and turbulent build up between Bantamweight Champion Redd Lennox and former Everest MMA Featherweight Champion and Ryūjin FC Champion CC Flynn gets the plug pulled less than 24 hours to fight night. That opened the doors for Magdalena Moruga to step in on short notice, but unfortunately for her, she couldn’t get it done in her rematch with Lennox. But on that same night, the unbeaten Noah Vanderkaay gets stopped inside the first round by Derrius Webb, giving us the crowning of a new Middleweight Champion. And now, we cap off the month with another stacked card, headlined with a monumental Heavyweight Championship bout, all in the span of less than 30 days!”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“That is certainly a fight we have all been salivating over ever since it was announced. It’s been a wild ride but we’ve got plenty more action in store. The prelims tonight have certainly delivered, so before we dive into the marquee title fight, let’s break down tonight’s main card, starting with the opener. Kicking things off we have a compelling Bantamweight showdown between former 135 pound Champion Dallas Meechan taking on the surging former Everest MMA Flyweight Champion Victoria Marshall. Originally, Meechan was supposed to face Magdalena Moruga at UGP 47, but after the fallout of CC Flynn’s withdrawal, Moruga was inserted into the Main Event and left Dally without a dance partner. His opponent tonight is a vastly different fighter, stylistically speaking.”

BYRON McCALL:“Victoria Marshall likes to fight in close quarters. She isn’t afraid to stand and scrap, but her bread and butter is to drag you down and pulverize you with brutal ground and pound. Now, Dallas Meechan has been known to hold his own when it comes to grapplers, so this should be a very intriguing matchup. One keynote to point out in Victoria‘s favor, she has all the momentum coming into this fight, winning seven of her last eight fights.”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“And that’s a big key factor for our next match up, which is a long awaited rematch between Reggie James and Lovelie Saint-Cyr. These two first met in the now defunct 225 pound Cruiserweight Division, where Reggie James welcomed LSC to the big leagues with a first round omoplata submission. Saint-Cyr would rebound and find major success at Middleweight, going as far as winning the 185 pound title, before dropping two straight to Noah Vanderkaay in his last two outings. This fight has major title implications, especially given the fact we have Derrius Webb as the new crowned champion looking to take on all comers.”

BYRON McCALL:“You said it best right there, Bodie. This fight has a lot on the line with the field now wide open, especially if the reports are true about Noah Vanderkaay potentially missing some considerable time to nurse some injuries. These guys have firmly established themselves as top ranked contenders for quite some time. A win tonight could propel them at the very front of the line. It’s going to be very interesting to see what new wrinkles we’ll see out of James and Saint-Cyr when they finally square off. We all know LSC has the advantage on the feet, and Reggie James has the advantage on the ground. Whoever can dictate where the fight goes will likely have their hand raised when it’s all said and done.”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“After that, we move on to our featured undercard bout, which features former Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Title Challenger Viktor Volkov taking on the former Heavyweight Champion Owen Barnes in a battle of the behemoths. This is a high stakes bout for different reasons for these men. For Volkov, this could be the signature win needed to thrust him into a title fight and secure a rematch with either Gauge Lattimore or Kennard Rozier. He’s won seven of his last eight, all by first round stoppages, and what a way to put a stamp on that momentum than to get a big win over a former champion. For Barnes, this is a fight to plug the leak and maintain his position in the rankings. It’s likely that he is on the road to re-establish himself within the division, especially if Lattimore continues to sit on the Heavyweight throne.”

BYRON McCALL:“Yeah, Bodie, as long as Gauge Lattimore is champion, the days of Owen Barnes competing for a title fight are probably far down the road. Of course that could very well change tonight, and if that should happen, that certainly opens the doors wide open for Barnes and really the rest of the division. Volkov is positioned to be the next contender should he pick up the win. Both of these guys are heavy hitters with essentially zero threat of a takedown. This is going to be an old-fashioned barroom brawl!”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“And then moving into the Co-Main Event is a Bantamweight bout between former Everest MMA Strawweight Champion Eugenie Bombelles and former Bantamweight Title Challenger Isabel Azevedo. The top of the 135 pound division has seen some wild twists and turns as of late with the whole debacle between Redd Lennox and CC Flynn, anything and everything is on the table, especially the winner of this fight becoming the next title contender.”

BYRON McCALL:“Very rarely do we get a fight announced with a number one contender stipulation attached to it without an interim title on the line, there’s so many variables that can take place. Injuries, contract negotiations, and general behind the scenes politics can deter a future matchup that seems like a no brainer, but I’ll say this: whoever wins this fight should be next in line. Now, Redd Lennox has publicly stated she still wants CC Flynn. Whether that’s her next fight or not remains to be determined, but these two women co-headlining tonight absolutely deserve that distinction.”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“You won’t be getting any arguments out of me, B. Bombelles and Azevedo have cemented themselves as title contenders, but we’ll have to wait and see how the future unfolds for these girls. For now, we can just sit back and enjoy the performance the two will surely put on. With that, we move into the final bout of the night, the colossal Main Event for the Heavyweight Championship! We’ve got a true clash of titans as the Heavyweight Champion Gauge Lattimore puts his belt on the line against the number one contender and former Champion Kennard Rozier. Former teammates will stand across from each other for a possible five rounds to find out who is the Heavyweight GOAT!”

BYRON McCALL:“This fight speaks for itself, Bodie. We have the two most accomplished Heavyweight Champions in Union GP history squaring off on the same stomping grounds that these two shared a gym with. Right here in Kansas City is where the 9th World Performance Institute was founded, and it’s where they developed some of the best talent in all of MMA. Fast forward to present day, Kennard Rozier relocated to Miami and Gauge Lattimore has since established his own gym. There hasn’t been a lot of bad blood spoken amongst these guys, they come into this fight knowing it’s all about legacy. This is a fight that will alter their careers, for better or for worse. Both are known strikers with their own unique flavor to their approach and without a doubt this is going to be a car crash you just can’t look away!”

BODIE SULLIVAN:“We’ll be here every step of the way, breaking down the action and providing you with the best analysis in the business, folks. So with that, let’s toss it over to our very own hype man himself, the mouthpiece of MMA, Mike Dempsey, who’s on stand by awaiting his cue. Ladies and gentlemen, IT’S BOUT TIME!”

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the sold out T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri for UGP 48: LATTIMORE versus ROZIER! And now, this opening contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Division! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Freestyle Wrestler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of seven wins, five losses, one draw. She stands 5’6” tall, and weighing in at 135 pounds. She is from Seattle, Washington, fighting out of Twin Cities MMA, presenting the former Everest MMA Flyweight Champion and the number seven ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, Victoria Marshall!

[With a singular spotlight shining down from the heavens, the spectators roar with anticipation. Beads of sweat glisten on Victoria Marshall’s forehead as she stands in her corner, an embodiment of serenity amidst the chaos. Beneath that veneer of calmness lies a heart pounding with adrenaline, for she knows all too well that she is just seconds away from facing the toughest challenge in her professional career.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Muay Thai Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of twelve wins, five losses. He stands 5’10” tall, and weighing in at 135 pounds. He is from Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, fighting out of the ScrapYard MMA, presenting the former Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Champion and the number three ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, “Playboy” Dallas Meechan!”

The fight returned to standing after the referee stood up the fighters due to inactivity on the ground. Marshall showed her takedown prowess again, catching Meechan off guard, and the battle continued on the mat. Meechan attempted to control from the bottom, but Marshall eventually reversed the position, landing impactful punches. As the round ticked away, Meechan regained full mount, but Marshall didn’t back down, launching powerful punches from the bottom. Meechan struggled to mount effective ground and pound, thanks to Marshall’s tenacity. In the final moments, Marshall attempted a guard pass, but Meechan’s guard held strong. The horn sounded, bringing an end to the round and leaving the audience breathless, eagerly awaiting the judges’ decision after witnessing an intense, action-packed round.

WITH EVERY OUNCE OF MY BLOOD

WITH EVERY BREATH IN MY LUNGS

[As the speakers blare the opening notes of Eminem’s “Phenomenal,” the lights dim, casting the arena into a sea of shadows. A single spotlight finds its mark, revealing Isabel Azevedo standing tall at the entrance. She exudes an aura of focused determination, her gaze locked firmly on the path that lies ahead. There’s no flamboyance tonight, no grandiose gestures; she means business. The rhythm of the music pulsates with her heartbeat as she begins her measured walk to the cage. Her every step sends reverberations through the floor, reflecting the intensity of the moment. The crowd falls hushed, and a sense of respect fills the air as they recognize the gravity of this fighter’s presence. With the lights dim, scanning spotlights are bathing the arena in a mesmerizing glow of green and yellow, a dazzling homage to her Brazilian heritage. The atmosphere comes alive with vibrant hues, adding an ethereal touch to her walkout. With every stride, she carries the weight of her nation on her shoulders, the Brazilian flag draped proudly across her back, fluttering like a beacon of courage and pride.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And now, ladies and gentlemen, as we head into our Co-Main Event, we first welcome a former Title Challenger, Isabel Asevedo, who looks a bit more focused and dialed in as she makes her walk to the octagon. Normally a lighthearted and bubbly personality, it appears that Izzi Azevedo is all business tonight. And when you consider the potential stakes at hand, you’ll understand why. This is Azevedo’s first fight back since her loss to Bantamweight Champion Redd Lennox in the finals of the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix back at UGP 44 in Mexico. She remains inside the top five in the rankings, but after having two unsuccessful bids at the championship, she’s at a tough crossroads in her career.”

BYRON McCALL: “It’s not uncommon to see someone have to take a step back in terms of ranked opponents after suffering a high profile loss like that. But Isabel Azevedo was presented with this opportunity to return to action against a number two ranked contender. That goes to show the level of determination she has to be a world champion. She believes in herself, and although we commend her on her sneaky good striking, it’s not nearly the level of what she’s about to face. Her willingness to take on such a tough opponent who thrives as an aggressive striker goes to show that she’s not in this to take the easy route. She jumps right back in the shark tank headfirst. That’s the mark of a true competitor!”

[At the cageside area, she pauses briefly, her eyes locked on the sacred steel structure. With a profound sense of reverence, she disrobes to reveal her BST fight gear, shedding the metaphorical armor of everyday life to don the mantle of a true warrior. The sight of her transformation garners resounding cheers from the crowd, who recognize the dedication and sacrifice it takes to step into the combat realm. The cutman, a seasoned veteran with a wealth of experience, steps forward with a reassuring nod. His steady hands inspect Izzi’s gear, ensuring every aspect is in perfect order. With a final nod of approval from the cutman, Azevedo takes a deep breath, centering herself before crossing the threshold into the cage. She jogs over to her corner, and bounces on her feet to stay loose as she awaits for her opponent.]

[As the electrifying atmosphere envelops the arena, the spotlight shines brightly upon the entrance ramp. A buzz fills the air as the hauntingly beautiful chords of “My Way” by PVRIS begin to echo through the stadium. From the shadows emerges a figure of grace, determination, and unyielding spirit. With the French flag draped proudly over her shoulders, Eugenie Bombelles strides forward, her eyes locked firmly on the path that leads to the cage. The crowd erupts in cheers and applause, but Eugenie remains stoic, focused, and calm as ever. She acknowledges the magnitude of this occasion, but there’s a sense of serene confidence in her demeanor that captivates the audience. As she makes her way down the aisle, the intensity in the arena heightens. The lights dance around her, casting dramatic shadows on her chiseled face, showcasing the fire that burns within. Along the walkway, her coaches follow closely behind, each one a crucial part of her journey, their unwavering support evident in their eyes.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “The Pride of France makes her presence known here in Kansas City, B. Eugenie Bombelles has been one of the brightest prospects we have seen in quite some time, running roughshod through the Strawweight Division during her time in Everest. After an impressive debut in Union, Bombelles suffered her first professional loss during the Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix to fellow former Everest Strawweight Champion Rachel Parsons. Since then, she’s ripped off two first round finishes, including her last outing against former Champion Dallas Meechan in her home country. If she can pick up the win tonight, making it three in a row, I think you’ll find it nearly impossible to argue against her being deserving of a Union Title fight.”

BYRON McCALL: “Yeah, Bodie, you won’t be getting any arguments from me. You mention her last two fights have ended inside the first frame, she also bagged Performance of the Night bonuses in those fights as well. She’s firing on all cylinders right now, and if she keeps steamrolling the elevated competition as she ascends the rankings, there’s no doubt she’ll be competing for a title sooner than you think. I can’t wait to see what she does here tonight, she’s leaps and bounds above her opponent in the striking department. If she can keep the fight standing, it’s gonna be another quick night for her.”

[As she approaches the cage, her coaches stand by, each wearing expressions of confidence and camaraderie. Eugenie shares hugs and quick, encouraging words with them, a silent nod of appreciation passing between them. It’s a ritual of unity, a bond formed through countless hours of training and sacrifice. A cutman, ever-vigilant, inspects Eugenie with sharp eyes, checking her from head to toe, ensuring she’s ready for the battle ahead. With his approval, she turns and races up the steps, jogging straight toward her corner. The door clangs shut behind her, marking the beginning of a test of will, courage, and skill.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Co-Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Missouri State Athletic Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Charles Parker, Alec Tanner, and Max McDonald, and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Ron Anderson. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Live from the sold out T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, streaming exclusively on the Battleground Network…”

IT’S TIME!

MIKE DEMPSEY: “The following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Division! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fighter holding a professional mixed martial arts record of eight wins, three losses. She stands 5’7” tall, and weighing in at 136 pounds. She is from São Paulo, Brazil, fighting out of Nova Uniao in Rio de Janeiro — presenting the former Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Title Challenger and the number four ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, “Maravilha” Isabel Azevedo!”

[As the arena lights swirled down to a single point and the crowd noise continued to escalate, Isabel Azevedo remained grounded like a pillar in her corner, almost meditative. As she stands there, her presence alone demands respect. There’s something captivating about the way she carries herself, an air of quiet confidence that seems to radiate from every pore. With a single, purposeful stride out from her corner, she slowly raises a clenched fist in the air, with her eyes fixed on her opponent across the octagon.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of fifteen wins, one loss. She stands 5’5” tall, and weighing in at 135.5 pounds. She is from Lyon, France, fighting out of FORTUNES MMA — presenting the former Everest MMA Strawweight Champion and the number two ranked Bantamweight Contender in the World, “Trois Voeux” Eugénie de Bombelles!”

[As Eugenie Bombelles’ name reverberates through the arena, drawing all eyes to the corner where she stands, her eyes, fierce and determined, scanned the crowd. She exudes an aura of unshakable focus and composure. But it wasn’t just her physicality that was captivating, it was also the confidence she exuded. The crowd could feel it. Pacing back and forth like a caged animal, every step she took resonated with purpose. Her demeanor spoke volumes, she was ready for war.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Here we go ladies and gentlemen! With a possible fifteen minutes to work, it’s time to find out who can score the big win and inch their way closer to a title fight!”

[The referee steps to the center of the cage and motions for both fighters to meet. With Mike Dempsey standing behind holding the microphone, referee Ron Anderson gives one final pep talk.]

RON ANDERSON:“Alright fighters, we’ve gone through the rules in the back. Protect yourself at all times, follow my instructions, touch gloves and let’s do it.”

[Both fighters seem ready to burst with adrenaline. Without much hesitation, they touch gloves and quickly backpedal to their respective corners. As they settle into their stances, Ron Anderson checks off with each fighter one last time, ensuring they are both ready for the challenge that lies ahead.]

In a clash of Bantamweight Titans, the opening bell echoes through the arena, igniting a fire in the hearts of both fighters. With the precision of a hawk, Azevedo keenly assesses her opponent, searching for that elusive chink in the armor. And then, like a lightning bolt, she leaps into action, executing a spectacular Flying Scissor Heel Hook, catching Bombelles by surprise! The crowd erupts in a collective gasp as Azevedo locks in the submission hold, showcasing her mastery of grappling techniques. Bombelles writhes in agony, her left leg contorted unnaturally, a testament to the ferocity of the attack. The tension is boiling over, with every spectator holding their breath, witnessing the fight teetering on the edge. With sheer determination and a warrior’s spirit, Bombelles fights to resist the pain, but the agony proves insurmountable. In an act of valor, she taps out, conceding victory to Azevedo. The arena trembles with thunderous applause as they are shell shocked by the unbelievable finish.

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, referee Ron Anderson has called for a stop in this fight at fifty-six seconds in the very first round, declaring your winner by submission, “Maravilha” Isabel Azevedo!”

A mix of adrenaline and triumph fills the air as the victorious Isabel Azevedo, with a dazzling smile on her face, makes her way to the center of the octagon. The interviewer, Bodie Sullivan, stands tall, holding his mic, with a Portuguese interpreter standing in the middle, ready to capture the emotions of the moment.]

BODIE SULLIVAN:“Ladies and gentlemen, what a jaw-dropping performance we just witnessed! I’m here with the marvelous Isabel Azevedo, who just secured a record-breaking 56-second submission win with a flying scissor heel hook! Isabel, congratulations on your stunning victory! How are you feeling right now?”

ISABEL AZEVEDO: “(Thank you, Bodie! Whew, I can barely put it into words. This moment is beyond amazing. I’m feeling a mix of excitement, joy, and gratitude. It’s an honor to be standing here after such an intense bout and camp.)”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “You should be incredibly proud of yourself, Izzi! That submission was poetry in motion. But let’s talk about your opponent, Eugenie Bombelles. She’s no pushover, and you showed a lot of respect for her in the lead-up to this fight. Tell us about your thoughts on the fight and your opponent.”

ISABEL AZEVEDO: “(Absolutely, Eugenie is an incredible fighter. I knew stepping into this cage that she wouldn’t be an easy challenge, but I also knew that my team and I had prepared diligently for this moment. I respect her skills, her heart, and her determination. It’s never easy to accept defeat, but I believe she’ll come back stronger, and I’ll be rooting for her.)”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “That’s a commendable attitude. Now, after this remarkable performance, everyone is wondering what’s next for you. You’ve got a lot of options. Who would you like to call out for your next fight?”

ISABEL AZEVEDO: “(Well, both Redd Lennox and Dallas Meechan are exceptional fighters, and I have the utmost respect for their accomplishments in this division. Redd, if you’re watching, you know we had a fight before, and it’s time for a rematch! But if that’s not in the cards, Dallas, I’m ready to sign on the dotted line for a number one contender fight. Either way, I’ll be bringing my A-game and looking to push myself to new heights.)”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, Isabel, it has been an honor to witness your record-setting performance and to speak with you tonight. Congratulations once again on this incredible win! We can’t wait to see you back in the octagon for your next challenge.”

ISABEL AZEVEDO: “(Thank you so much, Bodie! I’ll be back, stronger and more determined than ever. And to all my fans out there, stay tuned because this journey is far from over! Keep believing, keep supporting, and I promise to keep delivering the best of me in every fight!)”

[As the camera captures Isabel’s victory pose, the crowd erupts once again, their cheers amplifying the momentous occasion. The energy in the arena is electric, and Isabel Azevedo, the record-breaker, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of fight fans worldwide.]

[The arena lights dim, plunging the arena into darkness, and there is hushed silence that falls onto the crowd. No music, no flashy effects, just the pure anticipation of what’s to come. The crowd holds its breath, sensing something extraordinary is about to unfold. Suddenly, a single spotlight cuts through the darkness, illuminating the entrance ramp. In that beam of light, we catch a glimpse of a towering figure making his way toward the octagon. Kennard Rozier steps into the spotlight, dressed in an elaborate gear that exudes power and presence resembling the armor of ancient Roman gladiators. As he walks, there’s a distinct rhythm in his movements, every step calculated, every muscle tensed. The walkout is a display of power and control, just like a predator stalking its prey. The crowd is now completely captivated, caught in the gravitational pull of Rozier’s intensity. With each step closer to the cage, he sheds a layer of his gear, revealing the heart of a warrior beneath.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “No hocus pocus, just focus! He’s the most successful Heavyweight Champion in Union Grand Prix history, and tonight he’s on the hunt to become a two-time champion! Kennard Rozier has been on a dominant path of destruction since his return, and it’s led him to this moment, in the city where it all started! He has more title defenses than any other Heavyweight Champion and is tied for the longest winning streak in Union GP history. This is a man that strikes fear in the eyes of his opponents with his signature knockout power. Very few men have ever seen the second round with this man. When he drops bombs, they land and they do damage!”

BYRON McCALL: “Kennard Rozier has to be one of the hardest hitting fighters I have ever seen in my life, Bodie! When he touches you, he takes a piece of your soul with him. People don’t walk out the same way again when they go up against this man. He does a phenomenal job of using his footwork to pick his shots, get you off balance and then WHAM! Head kick! There’s not many guys of this stature that can land a head kick like Rozier, and it’s something you have to keep in the back of your mind at all times. We all wondered if there would be ring rust when Rozier returned to action, but he quickly dispelled that concern right off the rip. He could very well be joining a select group of fighters who have become two-time champions in this company tonight. This is a special moment you just cannot miss!”

[With each step, the anticipation builds, and the crowd can feel the tremor of his approach. As he reaches the cageside area, he stands tall, exuding an aura that demands respect. Slowly, he finishes shedding the layers of armor, unveiling the immortal form beneath. The crowd roars in awe, appreciating the visual display of a warrior preparing for war. The cutman approaches, inspecting Rozier’s face, body, and hands meticulously, ensuring that everything is in compliance with the rules. The tension heightens as the cutman gives the signal, and Rozier clenches his fists with unbridled power. The audience can almost feel the impact of each punch even before the fight begins. The moment is finally here. Rozier takes a deep breath, centering himself, and then tramples up the steel steps into the octagon. The crowd erupts, unleashing their cheers and applause as the arena trembles. He moves with purpose, like a predator stalking its prey, ready to unleash his fury in the cage.]

[As the anticipation inside the arena reaches a fever pitch, a haunting melody starts to echo through the speakers. It’s the chilling tune of “Hide and Seek” by Klergy, sending shivers down the spines of every spectator. The lights dim, and a lone spotlight flickers onto the entrance ramp. A thick mist begins to roll out, shrouding the stage in an eerie aura. Out of the haze emerges the Union GP Heavyweight Champion, Gauge Lattimore, with his cornermen flanking him on either side. He steps forward, silhouetted against the darkness, wearing a tattered scarecrow mask that conceals his face, and a ripped and tattered black hoodie with a large rusted chain around his neck. The crowd is spellbound, unsure if they’re witnessing a fighter or a creature of the night.]

With his face now exposed, Gauge continues undressing, shedding his tattered black hoodie, revealing his chiseled physique beneath. As Gauge goes down the line, hugging every one of his teammates, the large rusted chain clinks as it swings from side to side. He finally tosses the chain over his head and hangs it over Deebo Briggs’ shoulders.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And with the final walkout of the night, here is the undisputed Heavyweight Champion Gauge Lattimore, and it looks like he’s transformed into some kind of otherworldly creature! Very apropos to the way he’s handled himself since moving up weight classes. One of the things he wanted to do as Heavyweight Champion was to rack up multiple title defenses and bag the big money fights. B, I don’t think you could get any bigger than this right here! He’s facing a former champion but also his former coach and teammate. It doesn’t seem like there is any bad blood between these two, but they both recognize that in order to become the best, you gotta beat the best!”

BYRON McCALL: “And these two are the best the Heavyweight Division has ever seen! This is a division that has shown to be very difficult to hold onto the title for very long. Kennard Rozier has the most title defenses in this division with four, and Gauge Lattimore, along with Owen Barnes, is right behind him with two. Lattimore can be alone in second all-time with a win tonight, but you have a man who is hellbent on returning to his glory days staring right back at you! Both of these guys are incredible strikers that have a different approach. Kennard Rozier can end a fight in a single shot, but Lattimore is more of the “death by a thousand paper cuts” type of striker. Lattimore doesn’t really possess that kind of power in his shots. He’s only credited with one true knockout win, but… BUT… his resume is a laundry list of TKO victories. He puts a pace on you that not many have been able to even keep up with, let alone overcome. He’s gonna have to push that pace but also be mindful of Rozier’s power. One wrong move could be the end. I’m telling you, Bodie, this is going to be a monumental fight not just in terms of heavyweight fights, but in all of MMA!”

[Gauge stands tall and unyielding, awaiting the pre-fight inspection from the cutman. The camera zooms in, capturing the intensity in his eyes, the sweat on his brow, and the adrenaline coursing through his veins. The cutman ensures that Gauge is ready for the battle that lies ahead, giving him a nod of approval. He steps up to the cage door, looking up at the bright lights of the arena, a focused glint in his eyes. Before stepping in, he takes a moment to acknowledge the support from his fans, raising his fists in the air, and the entire crowd erupts in a deafening roar. As he walks to his corner, the cage door slams shut one last time tonight.]

MIKE DEMPSEY: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Missouri State Athletic Commission, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Pierce Compton, Jamie Pennington, and Sara Russel, and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Lars Levy. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Live from the sold out T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, streaming exclusively on the Battleground Network…”

IT’S TIME!

He stands 6’3” tall, and weighing in at 245 pounds. He is from Detroit, Michigan, fighting out of Gold Blooded MMA — presenting THE REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNDISPUTED Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion of the World, Gauge “Lights Out” Lattimore!”

[The crowd was on the edge of their seats, their eyes fixated on the lone figure in the red corner. Gauge Lattimore, a decorated veteran of the sport, stood amidst the shadows. With his fists clenched tightly, Gauge pounded on himself with rhythmic ferocity. The thuds echoed, reverberating through the building, mirroring the thundering claps of an impending storm. BODIE SULLIVAN: “History is up for grabs, folks!”

[The referee, a trusted figure with an air of authority, takes a confident stride towards the center of the cage and motions for both fighters to meet. With Mike Dempsey standing behind holding the microphone, referee Lars Levy has the fighters’ attention and he delivers one final pep talk.]

LARS LEVY:“Alright gentlemen, you know the rules. I want you to follow my commands, protect yourself at all times, if you wish to, touch gloves now and let’s have a clean fight.”

[Both fighters seem ready to burst with adrenaline. Without much hesitation, they touch gloves and quickly backpedal to their respective corners. As they settle into their stances, Lars Levy checks off with each fighter one last time, ensuring they are both primed and prepared.]

LARS LEVY:“Are you ready, red? Are you ready, blue? Let’s fight!”

Gauge Lattimore and Kennard Rozier size each other up, eyes locked in a fierce dance of determination. [The atmosphere inside the packed T-Mobile Center was still charged as the fans roared in excitement. The battle that had just unfolded inside the octagon was nothing short of a spectacle, a true display of heart and sheer will. Bodie Sullivan, the seasoned commentator and interviewer, stood in the center of the octagon, his microphone gripped firmly in hand. He looked at Gauge Lattimore, sweat glistening on his forehead, his eyes still burning with the intensity that had propelled him to victory. This was a moment that would go down in history, and Bodie knew he had to seize the opportunity to capture the essence of it all.]

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the winner AND STILL undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, Gauge Lattimore! Gauge, what a fight, what an absolute war! You took some heavy shots early in this fight, you got dropped a couple times and it looked like you were in trouble. Tell us, what was going through your mind during those tough moments?”

GAUGE LATTIMORE: “First and foremost, I want to thank all my fans out there for their support. Yeah, Kennard came out swinging, and he caught me good. I won’t lie, I was in a dark place for a moment there, but I knew I couldn’t let my team down, my fans down, and most importantly, myself down. I dug deep, reminded myself why I fight, and pushed through.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “And boy, did you turn it around! In the third round, you displayed some incredible ground work, almost finishing the fight with that rear naked choke. Talk us through that pivotal moment, Gauge.”

GAUGE LATTIMORE: “That was it, man, the turning point. I knew I had to do something different or I was gonna get knocked out. I knew I had to take it to the ground, and once I got on his back, I could feel that submission inches away. Kennard is one tough dude, though, props to him for hanging on. But that moment gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “You displayed a masterful blend of striking and wrestling throughout the fight, Gauge. That’s something we have seen in your last couple fights. It was relentless, and by the fifth round, Kennard looked exhausted and battered. Was there a specific game plan coming into this match?”

GAUGE LATTIMORE: “Absolutely, Bodie. We knew Kennard was going to bring the heat early on, so we had to have something in the back pocket to turn up the pressure. My team and I worked tirelessly on that wrestling, grinding him down, and then landing those heavy shots. It all shows the hard work and dedication of everyone in my camp.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Gauge, you talked about this being a legacy fight, about determining the baddest man on the planet. After a performance like this, it’s hard to argue otherwise. With one fight left on your contract, what’s next for you?”

GAUGE LATTIMORE: “This fight was everything I wanted it to be, and I hope it lives on in the memories of everyone who watched it. As for what’s next, I don’t know. How do you top this? I’ve done everything I’ve ever dreamed of doing, but I’m not going to make any decisions in the heat of the moment. I’m going to take my time, heal up, and then carefully consider my options. There’s a lot of hungry contenders out there, and if someone is willing to say it with their chest and call for the challenge, maybe I’ll come back sooner.”

BODIE SULLIVAN: “Well, Gauge, whatever the future holds, we’ll be waiting with bated breath to see you back in action. Congratulations on a magnificent victory and another successful title defense. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s give it up for the Heavyweight Champion, Gauge Lattimore!”

[As the interview concluded, Gauge Lattimore stood tall, his title belt glistening under the bright lights. The crowd’s admiration for him was undeniable.
