BACKSTORY
Born in Beirut during a period of recovery and rebuilding, Samir Haddad grew up in a household that valued discipline and education. His father enrolled him in judo and later BJJ to keep him focused and out of trouble. Samir excelled, eventually earning national recognition as one of Lebanon’s most promising grapplers.
In his early twenties, he moved to Montreal to pursue MMA full time under a well known grappling coach. There, he developed a patient and cerebral style, waiting for overextensions, punishing mistakes, and hunting submissions with calm precision.
However, his low output approach cost him several close decisions, keeping him out of major promotions. Seeking a place where technique and IQ would shine, he signed with Everest MMA. Samir now fights with the calm intensity of a chess player, knowing one mistake from an opponent is often all he needs.
