BACKSTORY
Visually almost a carbon copy of his elder brother, Viktor Volkov, Sasha Volkov finds himself in the shadow of both his father and brother, but that hasn’t deterred him from forging his own path in combat sports.
Training at Volkov Fighting Institute since his youth, boxing and sambo were the two major disciplines in which Sasha excelled.
After capturing the Combat Sambo 98 kg Gold Medal at the 2021 World Sambo Championship, Sasha and his team quickly turned their attention towards MMA. After a successful amateur career and five professional fights, all victories, Sasha Volkov has now made the jump to the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, Union GP.
Generally focused. Not much of a trash talker, they prefer to let their talking in the cage. Sasha knows the weight his last name carries, and is genuinely quite nonchalant outside of the cage. In training, and in the cage, however, he is an animal. Less brash than his older brother, and not as much of a jokester.
