BACKSTORY
Stefon Jackson grew up in Columbus with dreams of being a parkour athlete long before he ever threw a punch. His athleticism stood out early, he could land spinning kicks before he could legally drive a car.
A high school Taekwondo champion, Jackson moved into MMA at 17, encouraged by a coach who saw rare potential. His fast rise through the Ohio amateur circuit came with a learning curve. Early on, wrestlers bullied him, and he nearly quit after a frustrating stretch of takedown heavy losses.
With renewed commitment, Jackson joined a more rounded gym and learned to build an anti-wrestling style that protected his kicking range. He turned pro at 20 and quickly amassed an undefeated record built on spectacular striking. Everest MMA signed him knowing he’s inexperienced, but also knowing he may be one of the most naturally gifted athletes in the division.
