BACKSTORY
Born in the capital of a tropical island; one might think Erick Costa had everything a child would want; and in most ways he did. He had a caring family who pushed him the way of sports; he was sort of a good student; yet, there was an attitude growing up that made him want to fight. The kind of attitude that made him think he was better than everyone else and he wanted to prove it. In boxing, he did just that. Puerto Rico is not known for its MMA fighters, but it’s boxers, they’re world class; and Costa was among the best in his age group. Olympic status awaited him just before he turned pro; but that same bravado, that same attitude; got him on the wrong side of the wrong people resulting in a fight that ended his boxing career. Looking to continue fighting he took it upon himself to turn his boxing skills into MMA skills and here we are.
